Motor vehicle comprising: a body including a head rim that at least partially defines a body side opening; a first door received in and closing at least a first portion of the body side opening; and a textured paint surface feature as a drip guard provided along the head rim over the first door, wherein the textured paint surface feature as a drip guard is designed to increase surface tension of water in contact with the textured finish surface feature as drip protection.

The motor vehicle of claim 1, wherein the body further includes an A pillar defining a portion of the body side opening.

Motor vehicle according to claim 2, wherein the textured paint surface feature as drip protection is also provided along the A-pillar.

The motor vehicle of claim 3, further comprising a second door received in and closing at least a second portion of the body side opening.

Motor vehicle according to claim 4, wherein the textured surface feature as drip protection is also provided along the head rim above the second door.

A motor vehicle according to claim 5, further comprising a C-pillar.

Motor vehicle according to one of claims 2-6, wherein the first door pivots adjacent to the A-pillar and the second door pivots adjacent to the C-pillar.

Motor vehicle according to claim 7, wherein the textured surface feature as drip protection comprises a PVC-based paint.

A method of reducing drops of water from a head rim of a body overlying a body side opening of a vehicle, comprising: Applying a textured paint as a textured surface feature as a drip guard along the head rim over the body side opening.

The method of claim 9, further comprising applying the textured surface finish as a drip guard along an A-pillar edge of the body side opening.
