Object of the present invention is to improve a foldable furniture of the type mentioned in its reliability.

According to the invention the object is achieved in that a thrust-swivel device is arranged between at least one post and the foot movably connected to the post. Part of the push-pivot device is a push-pivot part which cooperates with a guide slot. The post can be converted by a translational movement of the push-pivot device from a substantially vertical operating position into a pivoting intermediate position. Preferably, the foot and the post are formed as a hollow profile. A hollow profile is characterized by a low weight with high stability. A weight reduction is therefore desirable, since thereby both the translational movements and the pivoting movements with less effort are feasible. At the same time, a reduced weight of the furniture components means a lower risk of injury to the operator. The high stability with respect to bending loads also leads to increased reliability of the furniture.
