The invention relates to a connecting bar for stackable upholstered furniture elements.

The purpose of such a connecting bar is to connect upholstered furniture elements that are standing loosely next to each other in such a way that they cannot be pulled apart or moved sideways. The upholstered furniture elements should only be able to be removed by lifting one element. They should be easily connected by pushing them together. Furthermore, a connecting bar should be as flat and inconspicuous as possible in terms of its dimensions so as not to restrict the height of different foot designs. In addition, the connecting bar should not have any annoying protrusions during transport.

Since all of these requirements are very high, there is no connecting bar or also called a coupling strap on the market that meets them. Either it is difficult to handle or the holding function is only inadequately fulfilled.

The invention is therefore based on the task of doing justice to both functions equally. This could only be achieved through a new, value-analytical way of thinking.

This problem is solved according to the invention in that a rod-shaped bolt, which is provided with notches, is inserted at both ends into U-shaped, encompassing holders, which are each attached 1m from the edge area under the upholstered furniture elements, and in which one-sided, spring-loaded locks fix the bolt in the notches to prevent it from being pulled out. A further design is that U-shaped cheeks of the holder are made of elastic material so that they can release the rod-shaped bolt when an upholstered furniture element is lifted.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings and is described in more detail below. They show:

The latch (1), which can be made of metal tube or plastic, has conical noses (6) at both ends, which facilitate insertion into the holder (2).

A stop (5) limits the initial insertion on one side, so that the lock (4) engages in the notch (3.1). The second end of the latch (1) is pushed into the holder (2) until the upholstered furniture elements are tightly closed together. The lock (4) engages from notch to notch (3.2).
