Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a gabion post for the support of grid bar mats and a gabion wall.

Because of their advantageous properties, gabion walls consisting of wire containers filled with materials such as bricks, glass, wood, bark mulch, or the like are becoming increasingly popular. Against this background, it was an object of the present invention to provide means for the simplified production of gabion walls.

This object is achieved by a gabion post according to claim 1 and by a gabion wall according to claim 5. Advantageous embodiments are contained in the subclaims.

The gabion post of the invention according to a first aspect of the invention serves to hold grid bars by which the stones of a gabion wall are retained. The gabion post is characterized in that it has attachment means for at least two superposed grid bar mats.

The term "one above the other" in this context refers to the typical vertical arrangement of the assembled gabion post, in which the said grid bar mats are to lie vertically one above the other. Generally speaking, the gabion post should have attachment means for at least two grid bar mats arranged side by side (i.e., one behind the other in the direction of the gabion post) in a direction perpendicular to the gabion post.

The term "grid bar mat" is to be understood in the context of the present application as a designation of any structure, which is suitable because of its (usually flat) shape and stability for the retention of stones. In particular, this may be a grid bar mat in the narrower sense, d. H. around a planar grid of a plurality of sufficiently stable rods, typically made of metal (e.g., iron), and preferably arranged in a rectangular cross pattern with each other. Furthermore, the grid bars are usually firmly connected (eg, welded or interwoven) at their crossing points and / or provided with corrosion protection (e.g., galvanizing) as a whole. The distance between the bars of a grid bar mat is to be so small that the stones to be filled are securely held back. Typically, the distance between two adjacent bars is between about 2 cm and about 25 cm. The strength of the bars of a grid bar mat depends on the expected loads and is generally between about 2 mm and about 8 mm.

A widely used form of lattice bar mat ("standard mat") is constructed of (typically vertically mounted) main bars and transverse bars spaced therefrom, with the main bars spaced typically 20 mm to 60 mm and the transverse bars spaced typically 150 mm up to 300 mm. The crossbars are often arranged in pairs on the back and front of the grid bar mat so that they accommodate the main bars between them. Furthermore, usually at the edge or near the edge of a Gitterstabmatte final cross bars ("end bars") are arranged.

The said at least two grid bar mats preferably lie on the same side of the gabion post, so that together they form a surface. In particular, the distance of the grid bar mats may be less than 10 cm, preferably less than 5 cm.

The described gabion post has the advantage that it allows the sequential construction of a gabion wall. In this case, first a first, lower grid bar mat attached to the gabion post and the resulting cavity filled with stones, whereupon in a next step, the next next grid bar mat attached and associated space can be filled (this process is optionally repeated several times with several superposed grid bar mats; furthermore, with free-standing posts at each working height at the front and back of the gabion post, one grid bar mats each can be attached). In gabion walls of greater height, for example, of over 1.5 meters, so the filling of the stones can be facilitated and damage to the grid bar mats are prevented by thrown from high altitude stones. According to another embodiment, at least two adjacent fastening means can be arranged at a long distance of at least approximately 100 mm, preferably at least approximately 150 mm, furthermore preferably at least approximately 200 mm. In particular, these fastening means can fix conventional grate bar mats to their crossbars, which are typically arranged at the stated distances.

In accordance with the above-described construction of a "standard mat", in an optional embodiment of the gabion post according to the invention, all adjoining attachment means may be provided with the above mentioned. be arranged long distance from each other except for two adjacent fastening means, which are arranged in said short distance and serve to receive end bars of two superimposed grid bars mats.

The height of the grid bar mats, which are arranged one above the other on a gabion post according to the invention or a gabion wall according to the invention, can be selected according to the desired requirements, for example with regard to a sequential filling. Preferably, the height of the grid bar mats is between about 60 cm and about 160 cm. Particularly preferred are standard heights of 60 cm, 80 cm, 100 cm, and 120 cm. Furthermore, lattice pole mats of the same or different height can be used on a gabion post or on a gabion wall (for example a grid bar mat of 100 cm height and a height of 80 cm, the higher grid bar mat preferably being arranged below).

As already mentioned, a gabion wall in the sense of the present application can be provided on one side with a visible surface or on two sides with two visible surfaces ("front", "back"). According to a preferred embodiment of the gabion post or the gabion wall, grate bar mats may be present on both opposite sides, which are arranged with their surfaces parallel to one another and at a distance corresponding to the thickness of the gabion wall.
