Abstract

Description

I. Field of application

The invention relates to a beverage protection device according to the preamble of claim 1.

II. Technical background

A drink is usually consumed when visiting bars, discotheques or dance events. When dancing, smoking outdoors or going to the toilet, these drinks are usually left unattended at the table or bar counter for a long time. There is therefore a risk that another person will, unnoticed, add a substance that is hazardous to health, such as knockout drops, to the drink in order to stun the victim and thus render him defenseless. After waking up, such victims can often no longer remember the act or the course of the act due to memory gaps for the time the drug was effective. If these substances are added in larger doses, this can even have life-threatening consequences.

For this reason, the same applicant in the DE 10 2013 103 579 A1 proposed a beverage protection device in which the drinking glass can be secured by a lockable protection device. This protective device consists on the one hand of a cover having a locking mechanism, which closes the opening of the drinking glass, and on the other hand of a bottom part receiving the base of the drinking glass. The lid and base are connected to each other by a flexible tensioning element, eg a thin chain, so that the opening of the drinking glass is securely closed after it has been fixed.

This application for property rights also describes a protective device attached to a drinks bottle, in which an element of the closure device reaches under the rim of a bottle in such a way that the lid is locked in place.

Furthermore, the same applicant in the GM DE 20 2013 011 025 U1 presented a container with a locking device. This is designed in such a way that during assembly of the cover it can be brought into engagement or operative connection with the associated latching device in any position and, in the locked state, prevents the cover from being removed.

III. Presentation of the invention

a) Technical task

The object of the present invention is now to provide a further device by means of which a beverage in a drinking vessel, in particular a drinking glass, can be reliably protected from unwanted substances of all kinds being poured in by third parties Replacement of the locking mechanism in the event of a defect or removal of the locking mechanism prior to the cleaning process of the lid and also an adaptation of the locking mechanism to different opening diameters of drinking glasses.

b) Solution of the task

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features specified in claim 1. The dependent claims relate to advantageous developments of the invention.

The locking element can of course be locked in the activated position and in particular locked, for example by means of a locking lock, in particular a plug lock.

Above all, however, the locking element can be adjusted in terms of its radial overhang inward relative to the edge of the cover by means of an adjusting device direction in order to be used variably on different diameters of the drinking vessel and in particular designs of the point of attack for the blocking element.

The blocking element is preferably the bolt of the locking lock, in particular the plug lock, which is preferably arranged parallel to the top of the lid in a preferably the lid edge radially widening extension in the radial direction and can be removed, and in particular can be locked in different locking positions.

In this way, too, the overhang from the edge of the lid in the activated state can be adjusted inwards to adapt to different drinking vessels.

Ideally, the drinking vessel on which the beverage protection device is used has a circumferential, radially protruding widening in its outer upper edge area, for example an attack bead.

This can be due to the manufacturing process, in that when the upper, sharp-edged rim of a drinking glass, for example, is melted, an outwardly protruding attack bulge is formed, or in that the drinking glass, for example, has an outer contour that widens conically towards the top.

If there is no suitable contact point for the blocking element on the outside in the upper area of the drinking vessel, in particular no contact bead, such a separate part can also be subsequently attached to the outside of the drinking vessel, in particular glued.

Alternatively, however, an internal thread, in particular a quick-action thread, can be present on the inside of the lid wall, which can interact with a matching external thread on the outside of the drinking vessel at its upper end.

In most cases, however, such an external thread is only present in bottles, which means that a suitable lid with a suitable internal thread must be used as a beverage protection device for the respective external thread.

In 1 1 shows a drinking glass 1 according to the invention with a lid 20 designed as a beverage protection device with a peripheral lid edge 11 extending downward in the assembled state.

The beverage protection device is mounted on the cylindrical drinking glass 1 with a protruding drinking glass rim 3 pointing radially outwards.

The cover 20, which, apart from the cover plate 4, has on one side a radially widened extension 5 with an integrated locking lock 6 therein and on the opposite side has a projection 12 projecting radially inwards from the cover edge 11, vertically spaced from the cover plate 4, for receiving the adjacent drinking glass rim 3, which protrudes radially outwards, in the groove 10 formed between them.

The diameter of the drinking glass rim 3 is larger than the free distance between the projection 12 and the radially inner end of the locking device 6, in particular its bolt 15 in its radially inwardly advanced, activated position.

At least one such projection 12 is arranged in the half opposite the locking device 6 , in particular exactly opposite the locking device 6 .

The lock 6 consists of a plug lock 19, as is used, for example, in trailer couplings in vehicles or as a keyhole lock. This locking device 6 is arranged horizontally or parallel to the surface of the lid and installed in the attachment 5 in such a way that when the lid 20 is mounted and in the locked state, the free end of the bolt 15 engages under the protruding rim 3 of the drinking glass. The face of the bolt 15 rests against the outer wall of the drinking glass 1 . The guide bolt 8 arranged on the shaft of the locking lock 6 or plug lock 19 points downwards in this position or is at right angles to the locking bolt 7. The position of the key 9 is also in this position at right angles to the locking bolt 7 and in alignment with the guide bar 8.

The extension 5 has a recess 14 in its area facing the cover 20, so that the locking bar 7 can be pivoted by a quarter turn. In the locked position, the locking bolt 7 is blocked in the horizontal direction, so that the locking lock 6 is fixed inside the projection 5 .

The extension 5 is designed in its inner part essentially like a conventional keyhole and is therefore designed in such a way that the plug lock 19 can only be moved horizontally via the guide bar 8 in an associated slot guide in the unlocked position.

The groove 10 on the left-hand side is designed in such a way that the associated projecting drinking glass rim 3 is received with a precise fit. The edge of the cover 11 has a greater material thickness in this area than in the rest of the area, so that this groove 10 can be produced.

As can be seen from the drawing, the cover 20 is on the left side by said groove 10 - as shown in FIG 3 even better visible - extends radially to about half of the lid 4 or the edge of the lid 11, fixed. On the opposite right-hand side, the lid 4 is fixed to the opening area of the drinking glass 1 by the bolt 15 which grips the protruding drinking glass rim 3 below.

According to the drawing 2 the cover 20 is shown at the moment of assembly or disassembly. In this position, the locking bolt 7 is in alignment with the guide bolt 8, while the handle of the key 9 is at right angles to these two bolts.

The lid 20 rests on the opening of the drinking glass 1 . The protruding drinking glass rim 3 is located on the left-hand side outside of the associated groove 10 . The free end of the bolt 15 rests on the drinking glass 1 and reaches under its protruding drinking glass rim 3.

In the bottom view or view of the underside according to 3 the assembly or locking principle of the lid 20 on the drinking glass opening is explained in more detail. It can be seen here that the edge of the lid 11 has a material thickening on the side opposite the locking mechanism 6 , which is designed to taper and extends to about half of the lid 20 or the edge of the lid 11 . This thickening of the material thus forms a kind of projection 12 , the integrated groove (not visible here) receiving the protruding drinking glass rim 3 in this area of the lid rim 11 . The part of the drinking glass rim 3 overlapped by the holding device of the lid rim 11 amounts to approximately a quarter of the total circumference of the drinking glass rim 3.

On the right side of the drawing it is made clear that in the locked state on the one hand the protruding drinking glass rim 3 is gripped by the bolt 15 and on the other hand the front side of the bolt 15 rests against the outer wall of the drinking glass 1 . During the locking process or when locking the locking mechanism 6, the lid 20 is shifted a little, as a result of which the drinking glass rim 3 is pushed into the associated groove on the opposite side.

In the representation according to 4 an adjusting device 18 in the form of two nubs 13 arranged on the lid edge 11 is arranged instead of the above-described thickening of the material with an integrated groove. These include analogous to that in the 1 until 3 described locking principle the protruding drinking glass rim 3 so that in cooperation with the locked locking lock 6 of the lid 20 is firmly fixed to the drinking glass 1.

In this exemplary embodiment, the plug lock 19 is arranged in the extension 5 in such a way that its guide bolt 8 points horizontally to the front. The locking mechanism 6 is in the locked position, with the locking bar 7 pointing vertically upwards at a right angle to the guide bar 8 . The handle of the key 9 is level with the guide bar 8.

The recess 14 has two recesses in the upper area for selectively accommodating the locking bar 7 .

In the example shown, the locking bolt 7 is in the rear recess, the bolt 15 protruding only a little into the interior of the cover 20 and the locking lock 6 correspondingly protruding a little from the extension 5 .

The variant according to 6 is provided with a variety of locking positions for the associated locking bolt 7. The beverage protection device can therefore be mounted on drinking glasses 1 with openings of different sizes.

In this case, the two operatively connected latching elements, the locking bar 7 and the upper area of the wall surface of the recess 14 are toothed. Advantageously, the latching area arranged in extension 5 is designed as a stepped thread.

In the drawing, the locking lock 6 has again been pulled out a little, i.e. up to the stop of the locking bolt 7 on the inner wall surface of the recess 14, from the extension 5, which is why the bolt 15 in this locking position is only a little far into the interior of the cover 20 protrudes.

The representation according to 7 illustrates how a drinking glass 1 with a funnel-shaped or conically widened opening area, such as in the case of a cocktail glass, can be provided with an associated beverage protection device.

This special shape of the drinking glass 1 results in a counter-element 2 which can be reached under by the holding elements arranged on the lid 20 and thus fixed.

The beverage protector is shown assembled and locked.

For this purpose, the adjusting device 18 provided for tightening the lid 20 on the drinking glass 1 is arranged on the lower edge area of the lid. Advantageously, the lid edge 11 has a protruding bead or projection 12 on the side opposite the projection 5 or locking device 6, which—as in FIG 1 until 3 described - up to about half of the lid 20 is enough.

The beverage protection device is precisely matched to the dimensions of the drinking glass opening, i.e. when installed, the projection 12 rests against the outer wall surface of the drinking glass 1, while on the opposite side the free end of the bolt 15 is pressed against the drinking glass 1 and thus the lid 20 braced on the opening area of the drinking glass 1. It is therefore no longer possible to lift the lid 20 lying flat on the drinking glass 1 .

The internal dimensions of the cover 20 are dimensioned in such a way that there is enough leeway to remove the cover 20 without any problems after the lock 19 has been unlocked and then pulled out a bit from the attachment 5, with the bolt 15 being pulled out completely from the interior of the cover 20 be able.

The variant according to 8th is shown in disassembled condition. The cylindrical drinking glass 1 is provided here in its upper area with an annular element 16 that is also cylindrical. This has a so-called quick thread 17 with numerous threads on its outside.

The inner dimensions of the cover 20 or the edge of the cover 11 are precisely matched to the outer dimensions of the ring element 16 . The pitch of the associated quick thread 17' in the cover 20 corresponds to that of the ring element 16, so that both parts can be brought into engagement with one another.

The locking lock 6 is arranged in the projection 5 in such a way that its free end of the bolt 15 reaches under the lower edge of the ring element 16 when the cover 20 is mounted. As a result, the quick thread 17 is unscrewed; 17' and thus detachment of the lid 20 from the drinking glass 1 is not possible when the locking mechanism 6 is locked.

In 9 a cylindrical drinking glass 1 is shown as a further exemplary embodiment, on the upper outer edge area of which a circumferential ring element 16 with a groove 10 is attached. Suitable holding, latching or locking elements arranged on the lid 20 can then engage in this groove 10 and cause the lid 20 to be firmly fixed to the drinking glass 1 .

10 shows a further advantageous design option for the opening area of a drinking glass 1. In this case, the drinking glass 1 is provided with a cylindrically enlarged diameter in its upper area, resulting in a counter-element 2 having an edge. This can be reached under by suitable locking elements of the associated cover 20 in cooperation with the bolt 14 of a lock 6, whereby a firm fixation is possible.

The cylindrical peripheral expansion of the upper area of the drinking glass 1 enables the associated, cylindrically shaped lid 20 to be fitted with a precise fit.

In 11 an additional variant is shown. The drinking glass 1 here has an essentially tulip shape, ie the opening diameter is smaller than that of the lower area. In order to also be able to provide such shaped drinking glasses 1 with a lid 20 according to the invention, a ring element 16 is applied as a counter-element 2 to the upper outer region. In the example shown, this consists of a counter-element 2 made of glass, plastic, a metal alloy or another suitable material with a groove 10.

The ring element 16 advantageously has a height of at least 1 cm. The inner dimensions of the edge of the cover 11 and the outer dimensions of the ring element 16 are so precisely matched to one another that the additional arrangement of a projection on the opposite side of the cover 20 from the locking mechanism 6 is unnecessary. In the mounted and locked state, the bolt 15 engages under the upper bead of the ring element 16 or engages in the groove 10 and at the same time causes the ring element 16 to be pressed firmly against the inner wall surface of the lid edge 11 on the opposite side. It is therefore no longer possible to lift or detach the cover 20 since the cover 20 rests flush against the ring element 16 due to the contact pressure emanating from the bolt 15 .

The lock 6 is then pushed into the projection 5 using the handle of the key 9 until a firm form fit is established between the holding means or counter-elements 2 arranged on the lid 20 and the drinking glass 1 .

In the variant according to 8th it is sufficient to bring the free end of the bolt 15 into contact with the outer wall of the drinking glass 1, with the lower edge of the ring element 16 being gripped by it.

The lock 6 is then locked by turning the key 9 a quarter turn. The locking bolt 7 of the plug lock 19 engages in the associated locking device of the extension 4.

The key 9 can now be removed. The drink is now safely protected from the addition of unwanted substances.

A lid 4 equipped with a quick-action thread 17 is removed from the associated drinking glass 1 in a similar manner. After the locking lock 6 has been unlocked, only the cover 20 is turned by a certain angle, depending on the pitch of the thread, and can then be removed.

It goes without saying that the invention also includes further embodiments by means of which a lockable lid 20 that can be placed on a drinking glass 1 securely closes the beverage. For example, instead of the proposed quick-action thread 17, a normal thread can also be integrated as counter-element 2.

The beverage protection device can also have at least one elastic stop element, preferably made of rubber, for example a rubber stopper arranged at the free end of the bolt 15 in order to ensure that the lid 20 is held on the opening of the drinking glass 1 without play.

It also goes without saying that the beverage protection device according to the invention is not limited exclusively to drinking glasses 1, but can also be used with drinking vessels made of other materials, such as plastic, ceramic, metal, etc.

In summary, it can be stated that the beverage protection device according to the invention for drinking glasses 1 or drinking vessels 1 represents an extremely useful addition to the protective devices previously registered by the applicant for property rights. In this case, especially the operators of restaurants of all kinds have the opportunity to offer their guests a very practical, simple and inexpensive solution to effectively protect themselves against health risks from the administration of knockout drops or the like.

Since the locking locks 6 integrated in the respective covers 20 are advantageously not welded in place but are arranged so that they can be removed, they can be removed if necessary. After cleaning the lid 20 and drinking glasses 1 in the usual way using a dishwasher, the locking locks 6, which would otherwise be damaged, are then reinserted into the lid 20 in order to be able to offer the beverage protection devices to the guests again.

However, it is also conceivable for the guests of a bar to have their drink served in a drinking glass 1 designed according to the invention or a similar drinking vessel 1 without a lock 6 installed and then to use their own lock 6, which they brought from home, which they then take back home take.

It is also possible for a guest to have their drink served in a drinking glass 1 or drinking vessel 1 provided with a counter-element 2 according to the invention and then close this with their own lockable lid 20 brought from home.

In any case, the protective device according to the invention represents a very simple and effective means of reliably protecting a drink consumed in public from the undesired addition of harmful substances - such as knockout drops.
