Abstract

The method involves inserting a metallic insert (10) into a molding tool, and positioning the metallic insert in the molding tool via a positioning member i.e. positioning shaft (14), which is made of plastic. The metallic insert of fiber composite material is deformed such that the fiber composite material is cured. The positioning member is separated from the base body (12) of the insert at a reference break section (18), after curing the fiber composite material. The positioning member is molded before being fixed at the base body. An independent claim is also included for an insert used in the manufacturing of a motor vehicle body component.
