Abstract
The steering system of a sailing yacht is exposed to very high forces in stronger winds and increasing swell, which u. U. can lead to the rudder shaft / rudder blade breaking. In addition, floating debris can cause rudder damage if it collides with the rudder blade. A yacht with a malfunctioning steering gear is incapable of maneuvering. If the seamanship cannot help itself, an appropriate emergency call must be triggered via marine radio and a sea rescue cruiser must tow the distressed vessel away. There is currently no simple emergency rudder, which can easily be installed in such a case. The specialist literature recommends the makeshift construction of an emergency rudder with the help of a spinach tree and base plate or the like or the use of sea anchors. The invention is intended to provide a solution so that an emergency rudder mounted on the yacht can be assembled and installed quickly and easily and so that the yacht can be maneuvered quickly in the event of an accident. The emergency rudder should be suitable for different hull shapes with a secure fit on the hull. The emergency rudder consists of a flexible base mat (4) in which a base plate (5) is embedded, to which a bolt (6) is attached. The bolt serves as the rudder shaft for the rudder blade (1), the tubular sleeve (2) of which is mounted on the bolt and secured with a split pin (19) or similar. A washer (20) prevents the rudder blade from rubbing against the plastic mat. Tension belts (9) are attached to all four rounded corners of the base mat. Two guide rings (8) for guiding a steering sheet are also attached to the base mat. The rudder sheet is attached to the rudder blade with shackles (13) (hole: 3). After assembling these individual parts, they are installed under the hull of the yacht by locking and tensioning the tensioning straps in the yacht's cockpit. The feet of the sea fence are used to allow the tensioning straps to be as cross-shaped as possible and thus to achieve a non-slip position of the base mat adapted to the hull. After connecting and tensioning the steering sheet in the cockpit of the yacht, the rudder blade can be turned around the bolt (rudder shaft) by pulling the steering sheet to port or starboard. It is thus possible to steer the yacht. The simple assembly and installation as well as a possible box-friendly mass production could lead to the fact that in future every sailing yacht will have such an emergency rudder with it, so that it can be maneuvered again quickly and easily if the rudder breaks.
Description
The invention relates to a Notruder for sailing yachts according to
Sailing yachts have one or two submarine rudder blades mounted on a rudder shaft (usually laminated) driven by a tiller or wheel control. By laying the tiller or turning the wheel control, the rudder stock and the rudder blade located on it are turned. With the rotation of the rudder blade, the flow conditions of the underwater ship change - the yacht becomes controllable.
The steering gear is exposed in strong winds and increasing swell very large forces, which can lead to a defective mechanism of the wheel control or the rupture of the compound rudder / rudder blade. In addition, flotsam can cause a rudder damage in a collision with the rudder blade.
A yacht with a malfunctioning steering gear is unable to maneuver. If the seamanship can not manage itself, a corresponding emergency call must be triggered via maritime radio and a lifeboat must tow the stricken vessel.
ä.Although sailing yachts with wheel control have a so-called emergency tiller for a defective wheel control mechanism, there is no standardized replacement rudder blade or the like in the case of a breakage of the rudder blade.
- - Construction of a helm of spinach tree and floorboard (or similar parts of a yacht) and attachment to the stern of the yacht
- - Use of sea anchors

Due to the tension, the flexible base mat adapts to the hull shape. Due to the width of the straps, the tension and the static friction properties of the base mat as well as the shape of the fuselage slipping of the rudder is excluded even under load. To strengthen this condition if necessary, the tension straps can be beaten once before stretching around the supports of the sea fence.
The emergency rudder can be used again at any time after disassembly and storage.
