Ein erschwerender Umstand bei der Herstellung von Fahrradnippeln war bis jetzt der, dafs die Nippel aus dem Vollen hergestellt und erst nachträglich gebohrt werden mufsten. Das vorliegende Verfahren will nun Fahrradnippel auf einfachste Art dadurch erzeugen, dafs die betreffenden Nippel aus kurzen Rohrstücken, die einzeln oder durch Abschneiden vom Ganzen gebildet sind, durch Stanzen bezw. Pressen in einer entsprechenden Stanzvorrichtung gefertigt werden, wobei das erforderliche Loch im Nippel sogleich miterzeugt wird. Das Stanzwerk besteht aus drei Theilen, der Matrize b, dem Stempel c und dem Gegenstempel d, welcher den Dorn bezw. Führungsstift e trägt, dessen Form der Aushöhlung des Nippels entspricht. Das Rohrstück B wird in die Matrize b auf den Dorn e des Gegenstempels d aufgesteckt (Fig. 1) und der Stempel c in die Matrize b hineingeprefst (Fig. 2), wobei der Dorn e in der axialen Bohrung f des Stempels c Führung erhält, um ihn während des Pressens am Verbiegen und seitlichen Verschieben zu verhindern. Beim vollständigen Niedergang des Stempels c wird der obere, freiliegende Theil α des Rohrstückes B gegestaucht, damit er sich den profilirten Wandungen der Matrize b und der Aufsenform des Dornes e genau ~ anpafst (Fig. 3). Nach vollendeter Arbeit geht der Stempel c wieder in die Höhe und der fertige Nippel A (Fig. 4) wird durch den mittelst geeigneter Einrichtungen bewegten Gegenstempel d ebenfalls nach oben herausgestofsen. Bei diesem Vorgang mufs natürlich die Oberfläche des Dornes e vollständig glatt sein (Fig. 1 bis 3). Ist er aber bei g (Fig. 5), wo der obere Theil a des Nippels gebildet wird, mit Gewinde versehen, so dafs die Bohrung dieses Theiles beim Stanzen ebenfalls mit Gewinde versehen wird, dann mufs nach vollendeter Pressung der Gegenstempel e aus dem Nippel A herausgedreht werden.
