Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a motorcycle full-face helmet with the in the preamble of claim 1 specified features.
Such helmets are different on the market Embodiments available. Their main common features are the helmet The main part of the helmet shell and a separate chin part, which is between a closed closed position and a folded up position Open position is pivotally mounted on the helmet shell. In this feature the full-face helmet according to the application differs from usual rigid full face helmets, in which the chin part as one piece to the The molded helmet shell runs in front of the chin area of the wearer. In contrast, the chin part of the helmet according to the application is up collapsible to the wearer for example during breaks Possibility to give, without taking off the helmet without disability by the To speak chin part.
Finally, with such full-face helmets there is regularly a visor part provided that between a closed position and an open position on Chin part is pivotally mounted.
The motorcycle full-face helmets of known type discussed above have diverse in terms of comfort and handling Disadvantages. So the chin part is a relatively voluminous unit that is about 1/4 to 1/5 of the weight of the entire helmet. To that extent Fold up the chin part to apply a relatively high force, which is the Handling difficult.
Another problem is that both when opening and Close the chin part due to gravity after running over it highest position falls down and at the end of its pivoting movement relatively rough due to the corresponding swivel stops on the Helmet shell is braked. To avoid this, the helmet wearer must put it on be careful not to lift the chin part when folding it up or down let go.
Based on the described disadvantages of the prior art the invention has for its object a motorcycle full-face helmet generic type in its comfort and handling properties improve.
This object is achieved by the in the characterizing part of claim 1 specified features solved. Accordingly, the chin part is in Direction of opening of its pivotal movement, so that at least one Part of the weight, especially when the chin part is folded up, does not have to be applied by hand. The chin part is actuated thus much easier to implement. The further provided visco Brake to dampen the swivel movement prevents the chin part - especially now under the influence of his additional Force application - when released hard in the endpoints of the Swinging movement strikes. Rather, overall and in particular through that Interaction of force application and visco brake smooth, smooth running of the chin part, especially after passing it upper vertex.
Es zeigen: Preferred further developments of the Specified subject of the invention, its features, details and advantages in the following description of an embodiment of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. Show it:
Fig. 1 bzw. Fig. 1 and 2 schematic side views of a motorcycle full-face helmet with the chin part in the closed or open pivot position.
As is clear from FIGS. 1 and 2, the main helmet part is formed by the actual helmet shell 1 , which is formed in the usual manner in the rough form of a calotte with a front cutout 2 on the front. The helmet shell 1 is - as not specifically shown - padded inside in the usual way and provided with a chin strap. On the outside, the helmet shell 1 carries various aerodynamic projections and indentations, such as the circumferential, narrow edge apron 3 and the shallow depression 5 in the back of the head forming a tear-off edge 4 .
On the helmet shell 1, a chin part 6 is pivoted, substantially side by two, in the temple and ear region the left and right overlapping with the helmet shell 1 flanges 7 and these two flanges 7 connected integrally molded chin guard is formed. 8 In the closed position shown in FIG. 1, the helmet has the appearance of a conventional full-face helmet with a rigid chin guard 8 . By pivoting the chin part 6 practically the entire face section 2 is released ( Fig. 2). The bearing construction that enables the pivoting movement is described in more detail below. For the rest, the chin part 6 is connected in its closed position to the helmet shell 2 by a not shown latching.
To protect the eyes of the wearer against wind, weather influences and foreign bodies, a visor part 9 is pivotally articulated on the chin part 6 above the chin bar 8 and can be pivoted away separately or together with the chin part 6 . The mounting of the visor part 9 on the chin part 6 is carried out in a known manner and is also not shown in the drawings for the sake of clarity.
The pivot bearing construction for the chin part 6 is shown in Fig. 1 and 2 for better visibility in solid lines. In practice, the corresponding components are of course not visible from the outside between the helmet shell 1 and the chin part 6 .
As can now be seen from the two drawings, the chin part 6 is pivotally mounted on the helmet shell 1 via two matching handlebar arrangements 10 arranged laterally in the overlap region between the helmet shell 1 and the cheeks 7 of the chin part 6 , of which only the left side of the Helmes with the handlebar arrangement 10 there can be seen. This consists of a rear main link 11 seen in the direction of travel, which is rotatably mounted on the helmet shell 1 via its pivot axis 12 . At the free end of the main link 11 , the chin part 6 is coupled via a first articulation point 13 .
In the direction of travel in front of the main link 11 , an auxiliary link 14 is rotatably mounted on the helmet shell 1 via its pivot axis 15 . At its free end, the chin part 6 is in turn articulated via a further articulation point 16 , so that due to the double link arrangement 11 , 14 the chin part 6 exhibits kinematics in the manner of a four-bar chain during the pivoting movement. The positioning and design of the handlebars 11 , 14 ensures that, starting from the closed position ( FIG. 1) in the opening direction O, the chin part 6 first makes an essentially upward movement in order to open it upwards. The pivoting movement for opening the chin part 6 then follows upwards and backwards. To achieve this kinematics, the two pivot axes 12 , 15 are approximately at the same height. The main link 11 and auxiliary link 14 point in the closed position at an angle of approximately 45 ° to the horizontal to the front-up or front-down, so that the two links 11 , 14 form an angle W of approximately 90 ° with their longitudinal axes. This angle is somewhat reduced in the open position ( FIG. 2), the two links 11 , 14 point backwards against the direction of travel or diagonally upwards.
As can be seen from the two figures, the main link 11 is approximately pear-shaped in plan view, so that a receiving space 17 for a coil spring 18 is created around its pivot axis 12 . This is supported with its inner end leg 19 on the helmet shell 1 and with its outer end leg 20 on the main link 11 itself. The coil spring 18 is inserted under prestress so that it applies spring force to the main link 11 and thus the chin part 6 in the opening direction O of the pivoting movement, so that the actuating force to be used by the wearer of the helmet is considerably reduced in this direction.
Finally, to dampen the pivoting movement of the chin part 6 in and against the opening direction O, a visco brake, designated as a whole by 21, is provided. As such, this visco brake 21 is a component which is common in the automotive supply industry and is used for damping pivoting movements, for example of fold-out ashtrays or beverage can holders in vehicles. The visco brake 21 has a housing 22 in which a rotor which is damped by a visco liquid runs. This is coupled to the external brake pinion 23 via a shaft. The visco brake 21 is mounted in the vicinity of the main link 11 . The coupling between these two components takes place through a toothing 24 which extends over a partial length on the circumference of the main link section forming the receiving space 17 . The braking pinion 23 communicates with this toothing 24 in engagement so that the braking gear 23 is rotated upon rotation of the main link. 11 The braking action of the viscous brake 21 dampens this rotational movement and thus the pivoting movement of the main link 11 and thus in turn that of the chin part 6 .
