Description
The present invention relates to Means and equipment for independent, on-demand fluid supply, especially sick and in need of care.
In Deutschland sind rund 1,3 Mio. Menschen alleine aufgrund von Demenzen (Alzheimer) pflegebedürftig. In Germany there are around 1.3 million People in need of care alone due to dementia (Alzheimer's).
In contrast, the willingness to the elderly and nursing to be declining sharply. This leads to, that only the really necessary (such as food, personal hygiene, Administration of medication).
But especially bedridden patients are already dependent on help if they e.g. to drink want to erect. It happens again and again that patients are seriously dehydrated, because the hydration is not sufficient. It usually says on the bedside table a water bottle and a mug on the bed, but the patient in many cases can't reach. Most of those affected do not have the courage to press the emergency bell because of their thirst. The consequences of desiccation are first rather harmless, i.e. the patient has dry mouth and finds it difficult to swallow his meals, but occurs later due to lack of tears Conjunctivids of the eye, the bronchial secretion becomes viscous and offers bacteria an excellent breeding ground, the fluidity of the Blood worsens. A large number of the diseases summarized under the term "hospitalism" ultimately can be due to lack of fluids traced. As Examples of this are pneumonia and thrombosis listed. Both Diseases are common Weakness complications Patients in clinics and old people's homes.
To solve this problem is in the prior art, for example, that described in DE-U-298 23 892 Fluid intake device known. This device has a container for holding liquid, one of the container outgoing hose with a mouthpiece and a check valve equipped with a valve body on by a suction pressure exerted by a user on the mouthpiece Flow of liquid to the user. The container is either vented or for compensation of a volume of liquid to be withdrawn sufficiently deformable. Located in use the container in a lower position than the mouthpiece. The check valve is housed in the mouthpiece.
A major disadvantage of this Device is in the suction of the liquid, since the container is below of the mouthpiece located. The patient must therefore actively suck and maintain first for his efforts only air. Furthermore, the check valve in the mouthpiece only works reliably if it closes either by its weight or under spring tension stands, whereby in any case the weight of the liquid column or overcome the check valve voltage must become. Such suction power is not available in many bedridden patients. Furthermore, at this device ensures be that Always immerse the end of the hose in the drinking liquid, which of the Personnel may need to be hired and checked.
In the described in DE-A-43 05 589 Drinking device also has the major disadvantage that fluid intake can only be achieved by active suction on the mouthpiece. Furthermore the structure of this device is relatively complicated and for inexpensive series production not suitable.
Diese Vorrichtung weist keine Sicherung gegen unbeabsichtigtes Auslaufen der Flüssigkeit auf, so daß, wenn das Ventil auf dem Bett zu liegen kommt und der Patient sich darauf legt, die gesamte Flüssigkeit auslaufen kann.DE-U-80 13 547 describes one Drinking device for bedridden Sick with a container to absorb the drinking liquid, being the container for the drinking liquid with one in a mouthpiece drain hose line ending with a shut-off device connected is. This device has no protection against accidental Leakage of the liquid on so that when the valve comes to rest on the bed and the patient sits on it puts out all the liquid can.
All products known from the prior art has in common that they are relatively complex and for inexpensive mass production too expensive from the point of view of healthcare price pressure are.
The present invention lies based on the task, improved funds and an improved facility for fluid supply sick or in need of care To provide people. In particular, one should be simple for patients in need of care Handling and an inexpensive Mass production enables become. This task comes with an object with the characteristics of claims solved.
According to the invention, the fluid supply is ensured by a gravity-operated system, similar to an infusion system. The system according to the invention essentially has a hose with an adapter, which is attached to conventional beverage bottles, for example by means of a thread or by putting a cap on that can. The adapter preferably has a device for ventilation so that air is fed into the beverage bottle when liquid is removed. At the end of the tube opposite the bottle, a mouthpiece is provided which is preferably used to hold the tube with teeth or lips and which prevents the tube from slipping out of the mouth while drinking. Along the hose, a spring-operated valve is provided at one point, which squeezes the hose in the unactuated state, so that the liquid supply is interrupted. By pulling the patient on the hose, for example on the mouthpiece of the hose, the valve is opened in order to supply the patient with liquid.
The system according to the invention has in particular the advantage that it bedridden Patients an independent fluid intake enables and at the same time an inexpensive Production in mass production allowed. Another major advantage the invention is that System for conventional beverage bottles with a standard screw thread, which is by means of a bottle holder, especially an infusion bottle holder on the gallows of a patient bed with the opening after hung below can be. The one on the drink bottle hose attached by means of the adapter is placed so that the lying one Patient can easily reach the end of the tube with the mouthpiece. Thereby the patient can insert the end of the tube between the lips and open the valve by gently pulling the hose and drink. By exact Can position the mouthpiece achieved that when opening the Mouth and the release of the mouthpiece the valve automatically is closed. This prevents the beverage from leaking out uncontrollably when the patient chokes, for example. The length of the Hose and thus the position of the mouthpiece is preferably in the area of the valve variable, so that System e.g. to different gallows and head inclinations of the bed is adjustable.
Ferner ist die Tendenz zum Auslaufen neben Raumtemperatur und Luftdruck abhängig von der Viskosität der Flüssigkeit, deren Oberflächenspannung sowie dem Schlauchdurchmesser, dessen Oberflächenstruktur und der Beschaffenheit des Schlauchendes (senkrechter bzw. schräger Schnitt am Schlauchende).Particularly advantageous in the configuration according to the invention of the system is that a Leakage of liquid from the hose after the suction process even without a check valve is prevented, whereby the system according to the invention compared to known Devices is much simpler. As part of the Invention, it has been found that a check valve is suitable Dimensioning the inner tube diameter is not necessary. In particular, it was found that that between the mouthpiece and valve amount of liquid cannot leak if the weight of the liquid column in the hose is less, than the air pressure in the room. This is essentially always the case if the inner tube diameter is in the range between 2.5 to 4 mm, preferably between 3.0 to 3.5 mm. Furthermore, the Tendency to leak in addition to room temperature and air pressure depending on the viscosity the liquid, their surface tension as well as the hose diameter, its surface structure and the nature of the hose end (vertical or oblique cut at the hose end).
The advantages according to the invention are in particular that no active suction by the patient is required (gravity-operated), that for the nursing staff an easy control option guaranteed the drinking amount is and that few Components are required and therefore the manufacturing costs are low can be held. About that there is also the possibility Ventilation directly on the thread to the bottle, similar to the infusion set, to integrate. Through ventilation and / or can use a separate valve also liquid, water-soluble or Medicines that can be suspended in water (e.g. pain relievers) directly into the hose (and not into the storage container). This let yourself easily achieved by the fact that during the injection process the valve opened becomes. The desired medication is slowly added to the liquid flowing past the injection valve admitted so that one in this way can ensure that the applied in the hose Drug as soon as possible is delivered to the patient.
