Abstract
Daraus ergeben sich kostenmaeszige und oekologische Vorteile.{Weichmacher; Waeschenachbehandlungsmittel; quaternierter Fettsaeuretriethanolaminester; Fettsaeurediethanolamid; Alkylphenol-EO-Addukt; Fettalkohol-EO-Addukt, dispersionsstabil, fluessig}It describes a composition for the treatment of textile material, which can be used as a softener in the textile industry and as a household laundry aftertreatment. The composition contains up to 25% of a combination of quaternized fatty acid triethanolamine ester and fatty acid diethanolamide, which may be present in different ratios, as well as highly oxyethylated alkylphenol and highly oxyethylated fatty alcohol. These compositions, despite the high concentration of plasticizing substance, are dispersion-stable and readily water-dilutable due to their low viscosity. The application concentrations necessary to achieve certain softening effects are low. Description
Anwendungsgebiet der ErfindungField of application of the invention
The invention relates to a composition which is suitable both as a plasticizer for the textile industry as well as in concentrated or dilute aqueous adjustment as a laundry treatment agent in the household.
Charakteristik des bekannten Standes der TechnikCharacteristic of the known state of the art
As substances imparting a pleasant soft feel to textile material of various types, as well as further advantageous use properties such as anti-electrostatic properties and absorbency, it is preferred to use cationic compounds. These substances are generally commercially available in the form of more or less concentrated aqueous dispersions which are adjusted to the desired use concentration by dilution with water.
Preferred cationic finishing agents for this purpose include quaternized triethanolamine fatty acid esters, which are technically easy to prepare and have favorable hydrophilic properties compared to the distearyldimethylammonium chloride used predominantly.
A disadvantage of said quaternized fatty acid esters as well as other cationic compounds is that it is not possible to convert them into the highly concentrated dispersions desired in the interest of a favorable transport economy, since even with a water content of about 80% after a short storage form pasty masses, the handling of which is associated with the production of an application-ready fleet with high technological complexity. In addition, the homogeneity and stability of the resulting fleets can not be satisfied in all cases.
There are, therefore, a number of proposals to convert these fatty acid esters into an economically advantageous composition for the practice of use, i. H. in as highly concentrated products as possible, which show good stability and can be used in a low-cost manner.
In DE-OS 2,525,610, alkoxylated quaternary ammonium compounds are described as plasticizers for cationic softening compositions based on quaternary fatty acid alkanolamine esters.
According to DD-PS 230 711 is obtained concentrated laundry softeners from the said active substance by adding primary fatty amines and small amounts of alkanoic acid and alkanols of water-soluble salts of alkali, alkaline earth and earth metals.
A combination of primary fatty amine and low ethoxylated and quaternized primary fatty amine is proposed by DD-PS 230 434 for the preparation of stable aqueous liquid dispersions of quaternary fatty acid triethanolamine esters.
Ebenfalls diesem Ziel dient entsprechend DD-PS 234 687 oxethyliertes primäres Alkylamin in Verbindung mit einer Polyethyldispersion. Also according to DD-PS 234,687 oxyethylated primary alkylamine in conjunction with a polyethyl dispersion serves this purpose.
Salts of primary fatty amines together with fatty acid dialkanolamides and glycols are used according to DD-PS 270 638 as agents for the preparation of aqueous dispersions of quaternary fatty acid triethanolamine esters.
The listed proposals largely solve the task of converting quaternary Fettsäuretrialkanolaminester in dispersions which despite the desired relatively high concentration in terms of consistency, storage stability and handling in the subsequent use have satisfactory properties.
However, either the concentration of textile-technically important active ingredient in these dispersions only reaches relatively low values (DD-PS 270 638: 10%) or the dispersions prove to be disadvantageous in terms of costs or performance due to the content of necessary additives, since the incorporated plasticizers. Emulgatoren and paraffinated components do not contribute to the plasticizing effect or even cause this effect can be produced only with the simultaneous acceptance of adverse side effects such as water repellency and consequent deterioration of the absorbency of the textile material.
In addition, with regard to the softening effect as fiber to be regarded additives cause an unnecessarily high use of the products and a corresponding burden of wastewater.

The aim of the invention was a composition which has advantageous performance and ecological properties.
It was the object of a composition based on quaternized fatty acid triethanolamine esters for the treatment of textile. To find -laterial, which has high thermal and storage stability at high levels of fabric softening compounds, can be diluted with water in a costly manner to any application concentrations and can be achieved with the very good softening and other useful value-increasing effects. These should be achieved in the interest of ecology with low use concentrations and not be adversely affected by adverse side effects.
According to the invention the object is achieved by a composition containing the following components: 17 to 25% of a combination of quaternized C 14 - to C 2 o fatty acid triethanolamine and C 14 - to C 2 o-fatty acid diothanolarr, id, in the ratio 2: 1 to 1: 5 may be present, 1.0 to 5.0% of ethoxylated alkylphenol having alkyl groups of chain length C 8 to Ci 2 and a degree of ethoxylation of 20 to 60 and 1.0 to 3.5% ethoxylated fatty alcohol having a chain length of C 2 to C 22 and having a degree of ethoxylation of 50 to 100, wherein the ratio alkylphenol-EO adduct to fatty alcohol-EO adduct between 2: 1 and both substances may be present in a proportion of 2 to 8% together: 1 and 1 , According to the invention, stearic acid, also of a technical nature, is preferably used as C 14 - to C 16 -fatty acid. Compositions of this type form dispersion-stable liquid products at ambient temperatures between 0 and 50 0 C and, favored by their low viscosity, easily adjustable with water to any concentration. Surprisingly, the softening achieved with compositions composed according to the invention is better than the softness already judged to be good, which is achieved with the cationic compound alone with the same active ingredient concentration. In comparison to other compositions based on the same cationic active ingredient, good or even better performance properties are achieved with lower amounts of active ingredient. This is true even if in its plasticizing action against the cationic compound clearly inferior acid amide is present in excess. The hydrophilic properties of the quaternary fatty acid triethanolamine ester which are advantageous over distearyldimethylammonium chloride are retained.
Overall, the favorable performance effects of the compositions of the present invention in achieving desired softness and other utility value effects on the textile material enable a substantial reduction in application concentration, which is beneficial in terms of both cost and ecology.
