Description
The invention relates to a power steering system for motor vehicles according to the preamble of claim 1. Such steering is known from DE-OS 3100067, wherein the electric motor is indeed supplied speed-dependent with the electrical power; but only in the case of a steering operation. While this prior art power steering has the advantage of power conservation over power steering systems in which the pump is permanently operated, it is unable to respond rapidly to its full power in the event of a sudden need.
The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a generic power steering system for motor vehicles, which is characterized by low energy consumption, low electric motor heating and an extremely short system reaction time; It should have a simple structure.
This object is achieved by the characterizing part of claim 1.
By erfindungsgomäße solution of the electric motor at high speeds, as they are customary, for example, outside of localities, off. In the speed range, which usually prevails in city traffic, the pump is described in the so-called "stand-by" mode, which saves on the one hand, electrical energy, on the other hand, the hydraulic fluid is not heated so much, which is beneficial to the life of the η η In the speed range, which is outside about 20km / h, the electric motor also runs in "stand-by" mode, but can provide it with an extremely short response time in case of sudden high demand for hydraulic power The already rotating pump is able to deliver its full power within a very short time.
A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the hydraulic assistance can be activated only after exceeding a certain Lenkmc nentschwelle, whereby the booting of the electric motor happens only in the presence of a Mindestunterstützungsbedarfs. This again improves the energy-saving effect and naturally also minimizes the noise development.
To supply power to the electric motor, for example, a battery with center tap or a battery unit that consists of two batteries is suitable. In the middle speed range, the voltage of a battery is then tapped, while in case of high power requirements at a low Fahrzeuggeschwindigkoit both batteries are connected in series.
In a further embodiment of the invention Erfir is provided that the electric motor has two field windings, which are controlled speed dependent. If the power-assisted steering is to be operated with a conventional power-supply battery and a single-stage electric motor, a pulse-pause drive with a corresponding duty cycle is suitable for particularly low-loss voltage reduction.
Fig. 1 shows a Lenkungseinrichtu.ig, in which the relative movement between the steering shaft 2 and its housing 3 is used to actuate the spool 1 of the control valve. For this purpose, the housing 3 of the steering gear is firmly connected to the vehicle body; The steering gear is designed as a rack and pinion with helical teeth. The portion 4 of the steering shaft 2, which carries the drive pinion 5, is axially displaceably mounted in the housing 3. The axial displaceability is achieved in that the outer ring of an axially fixed on the steering shaft ball bearing 6 is slidably guided on a sliding surface between the stops 7 and 8.
The portion 4 of the steering shaft 1 is pivotally connected to the connecting member 9, which is caulked caulked with the spherical end 10 of the portion 4. In the connecting member 9, a screw 11 is screwed, which rests on the spool 1 and is connected via the tethered spring element 12 elastically biased connected to the housing 3. To compensate dG * ... ialen stroke of section 4 of the steering shaft this is connected via a compensation device 13 with the steering wheel.
If the steering wheel turned by the driver in one direction, this rotation of the drive pinion 5 in a / \ xia is! Movement implemented the rack 14th Due to the helical gearing, depending on the direction of rotation of the steering wheel, an axial force component of the section 4 takes effect, which results in an axial displacement of this section until the outer ring of the ball bearing 6 rests against either stop 7 or stop 8. In this way, in response to the steering direction of the spool 1 is applied. Dor spool 1 controls in a conventional manner, the pressurization of a working cylinder, not shown, which has a differential piston and is coupled to the mechanical steering. The spool 1 controls the connection between the pump port 15, the chamber of the working cylinder with the larger pressurizing surface chamber port 16 and the unpressurized container-container port 17th
Fig. 2 shows schematically a drive circuit for the electric motor of the pump. The steering shaft 2 leads to a steering gear with coupled hydraulic cylinder and integrated control valve, approximately as shown in FIG. 1. At the control valve or the drive pinion, a displacement sensor is provided, the signal is supplied via the connection 20 of the electronic control device 21. As an input signal to the electronic control device 21, the signals of the steering speed and / or steering torque sensor 22 and the vehicle speed sorter 23 are also provided, the latter being formed by an electronic tachometer or possibly existing wheel sensors of an anti-lock brake system. The electronic control device 21 is connected via the ignition with the battery and connected by the line 24 to the electric motor of the motor-pump unit 25.
The electronic control device 21 controls the electric motor as a function of the speed, the steering torque and / or the steering speed either continuously variable or, as provided in a preferred embodiment of the invention, discretely in response to striking vehicle speed thresholds. If the vehicle speed sensor 23 signals a vehicle speed in excess of 65 km / h, the power supply of the electric motor is interrupted. However, since at such speeds usually the steering torque is so small that the biased spool valve does not activate the hydraulic support, it is also conceivable that the switch-off signal is generated by the displacement sensor on S S or S on the drive sprocket. This would also have the advantage that the hydraulic assistance, for example, at long highway curves with relatively small radius is activated even at speeds over 65km / h.
In the speed range between 20 and 65 km / h, the engine switches to the so-called "stand-by" mode, the engine increases its power, if in this speed range, the performance of the slow-running pump is not sufficient If, for example, the driver tilts the steering wheel very much in this speed range, the electric motor will increase its speed to provide enough hydraulic fluid volume, and if the slow speed of the pump is sufficient, the engine will remain in stand-by mode. Mode.
Stellen die Sensoren eine Lenkbewegung fest, so schaltet die elektronische Steuereinrichtung 21 sofort auf die maximale Leistung um.Below a speed below 20 km / h, the electric motor remains in "stand-by" mode until a steering operation is initiated If the sensors detect a steering movement, the electronic control device 21 immediately switches to the maximum power.
The speed-torque diagram shown in Fig. 5 shows the upshifting of the electric motor from stand-by to full power when the steering is operated in a speed range below 20 km / h., In the speed range between 20km / h and 65km / h. If more hydraulic energy is required than the pump delivers in "stand-by" mode, it is also started up from "stand-by" mode, but not to full power, but - as indicated by dashed lines - only to one Value between "stand-by" and 100%.
Fig. 3 shows schematically a motor drive, which depends on the speed of the vehicle, the steering speed and the current consumption of the electric motor, depending. As the load on the pump increases when the working cylinder is pressurized, the power consumption of the motor also increases in this case. Thus, the current consumption is also an indicator of the steering torque. The current sensor can therefore take over the function of the displacement sensor on the control slide or on the drive pinion according to FIG. 2. This simplifies the structure of the entire power steering system, since a current sensor without AufvancJ can be integrated into the control electronics, while a displacement sensor in addition to the assembly also requires an additional electronic connection from the mechanical-hydraulic part to the electrical system. The regulation of the electric motor control takes place nar'i the same strategy as in the embodiment of FIG. 2. A voltage reduction in the Ansteuerelektrik dos electric motor by a pulse-pause control with a corresponding duty cycle can be in a particularly low-loss manner by using a so-called power MOS Implement -FET as an electronic switch. Such a circuit is shown schematically in FIG. The power MOS-FET 27 and the current sensor resistor 26 are connected in series in the power supply of the motor pump unit 25. The voltage proportional to the motor current at the current sensor resistor 26 voltage is supplied via a <~ n filter 28 to a comparator 29, which compares this actual voltage with a reference voltage. In response to the comparator output signal, the power MOS FET switch 27 is pulsed on / off by a controller 30 or permanently turned on. If the voltage dropped across the current sensor resistor 26 is less than the reference voltage, then the motor 25 is operated pulsed, this voltage is greater than the reference voltage, it is permanently switched on. In order for a safe working of the comparator 29 is guaranteed, this has a hysteresis.
According to Figure 6, the motor current proportional voltage signal is tapped at the current sensor resistor 26 and fed to two comparators. The comparator K1 switches from pulse-pause control (stand-by) to permantenansteuerung if the actual voltage is greater than the reference voltage U Ron , which is associated with the comparator K1, is. If, after the steering operation, the actual voltage is smaller than the reference voltage U Ri | 2 , which is assigned to the comparator K 2, the system is switched back to "stand-by" operation, both comparators operating in a direction-dependent manner, since otherwise there would be an undefined state between the two voltage threshold values.
Somit kann vom Motorstillstand bis zur permanenten Einschaltung jede beliebige Kennlinie eingestellt werden.8 shows a current-time diagram in which a steering operation is outlined. With the beginning of the steering, the required steering torque increases, whereby the power increases. At a certain current value, a first actual voltage at the current sensor resistor 26 drops, which is greater than the first reference voltage Ur, m; The engine is therefore driven with a higher power. If the engine torque drops after the end of the steering operation, an actual voltage is tapped off the current sensor resistor 26 which is lower than the second reference voltage Ur. The electric motor is therefore operated only with the "stand-by" power in the control 30 of Figure 6 is schematically indicated the pulse-pause control, which is provided in the "stand-by" mode; above this the permanent activation is shown. The circuit arrangement according to FIG. 4 differs from what has been stated above in that in addition a variable or step-switched pulse-pause ratio can be preset via the vehicle speed. Thus, from the engine standstill to permanent activation any characteristic can be set.
