Anwendungsgebietfield of use
The invention relates to a method and a device for pulsed operation of high-pressure discharge lamps for improving the photometric properties.
Hinweise erhalten z. B. die Patentschriften DE-OS 2825532, 3641070.Methods and apparatus for pulsed operation of discharge lamps have been known for some time. When using sodium vapor discharge lamps, in particular an increase in the color temperature can be achieved hereby. Notes received z. For example, the patents DE-OS 2825532, 3641070.
In the known operating modes, the lamp is scanned with different shaped broad pulses 0> 100μ3) at frequencies around 200 to 500Hz. To prevent the discharge between the Auftastimpulsen extinguished, this is fed during the pauses with a holding current. When operating without holding current, the pulse repetition frequency is so high that when maintaining the rated power often not enough high pulse currents can be achieved, which z. B. has a decrease in the color temperature result. The holding power should be kept relatively low, since it does not contribute to the achievement of lighting parameters. A technical disadvantage in the operation of the lamp with a holding power of conventional type is the relatively large power loss on the components that limit the holding current. In unipolar operation occurring segregation phenomena can be prevented by the use of bipolar pulses. A circuit arrangement for this purpose is described in the patent DE-OS 3540985. The relatively high technical effort would be even further when feeding a base load.
B. Thyristoren, aufge- bzw. entladen.A further circuit arrangement is presented in US-PS 3657598. It is used to operate discharge lamps at high frequencies, but not the idea of the keying was pursued. Thus, no base load is provided. In the presented circuit arrangement, the discharge lamp is connected in series with a capacitor and is, via this, with the aid of switching elements, ζ. B. thyristors, charged or discharged.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The aim of the invention is to develop a method and an arrangement for pulsed operation of discharge lamps, which enable a keying of the lamp with a technically easy to implement circuit arrangement with high efficiency.
Erfindungsgemäß wird die Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß der Impulsstrom aus bipolaren Haltestromimpulsen sowie bipolarenThe invention has for its object to provide a method and apparatus for pulse operation of high-pressure discharge lamps, in particular the conditions and circuitry for a key operation. According to the invention the object is achieved in that the pulse current of bipolar holding current pulses and bipolar
Auftastimpulsen is formed with a frequency below the holding current pulse frequency and between each pulse each has an electroless phase. At a frequency of the Auftastimpulse over 100Hz, the duty cycle is below 0.2, and the holding current pulse frequency is an integer multiple. With several Auftastimpulsen pulse groups can be formed. By adding a voltage source or charge storage, the energy of the Auftastimpulse is increased.
The associated circuit arrangement is characterized in that in addition to a charge storage and two switching elements, a further switching element in series with a further charge storage or a voltage source are arranged in the lamp circuit. Two charge storage devices are connected in series or in parallel.
Surprisingly, it was found that stable lamp operation is possible even with a pulse-shaped base load feed. This means that the discharge does not break off despite currentless phases between the pulses.
By the supply of very short relatively strong current pulses as a base load, z. As needle pulses, even a keying of the lamp is possible here, so that the base load no significant loss in achieving the lighting parameters such. As color temperature, light output, represents and the efficiency of the arrangement is thus increased.
The average power fed into the lamp thus results from the frequency of the base load pulses and the Auftastimpulse and their energy. The base load frequency is essentially dependent on the inertia of the discharge and should be chosen so that a safe lamp operation is possible.
For low-loss generation of the required pulses is a circuit arrangement in which the discharge lamp is in series with a charge storage and is charged or discharged by switching elements. This results in a bipolar pulse train with de-energized pauses, which must correspond to at least the recovery times of the respective switching elements.
A keying of the lamp is realized by increasing the energy of the respective pulses. For this purpose, the effective size of the charge storage or the charging voltage is increased according to the Auftastfrequenz by another switching element.
The entire lamp circuit can be connected in series with an inductance, which can also be arranged in series with the Auftastkreis. The ignition device can be connected in parallel to the lamp.

The first switching element S1 charges the first charge storage through the lamp. When the charging process is completed, switching element S1 is opened and, by closing a second switching element S 2, a discharge of the capacitor through the lamp is made possible. This process repeats periodically. In the Auftastphasen the first switching element S1 and a third switching element S3 for charging and the second switching element S2 and a third switching element S3 are operated to discharge common. In the circuit of Figure 3, the common switching of the second and third switching element S2; S3 not required for unloading.
Fig.4 stellt ein bevorzugtes Ausführungsbeispiel dar. The switching elements are realized by thyristors. The third switching element forms a combination of thyristor and diode. The control circuit can operate asynchronously or synchronized to the lamp current or the lamp voltage. For pulse shaping, it is possible to switch an inductance in the respective pulse circuit. The presented circuit example allows a simple technical realization and allows a low power consumption within the circuit, since no current-limiting components are necessary.
Die erforderliche Gleichspannung wird durch Netzgleichrichtung erzeugt. The required DC voltage is generated by mains rectification.
In the circuit arrangement according to FIG. 1, the first switching element S1, the lamp La and the first charge store form a capacitor C1, a series connection. Parallel to the first capacitor C1 and the lamp La, a second switching element S 2 is connected. To generate the Auftastimpulse the second capacitor C2 is connected in parallel through the third switching element S3, a further capacitance C3.
In the circuit arrangement according to FIG. 2, the first switching element S1, the lamp La, the first capacitor C1 and the second capacitor form a series circuit. Parallel to the lamp La, the first capacitor C1 and the second capacitor C2, the second switching element S2 is connected. To generate the Auftastimpulse the first capacitor C1 is bridged by the third switching element S 3.
In the circuit arrangement according to FIG. 3, the first switching element S1, the lamp La and the first capacitor C 1 form a series circuit. To generate the Auftastimpulse the drive voltage is increased with the third switching element by a parallel to the first voltage source U1 switched higher voltage source U 2 is effective.
Eine diesem Thyristor Th3 antiparallel geschaltete Diode D1 ermöglicht die Entladung der zweiten Kapazität C 2 beim Schließen von Th 2.In the circuit arrangement according to FIG. 4, the lamp La, the first capacitor C1 and a first thyristor Th 1 form a series circuit. By the ignition of the thyristor Th 1, the capacitor C1 is charged via the lamp La. A parallel to the lamp and the capacitance arranged second thyristor Th2 allows the discharge of the capacitance across the lamp. To generate the Auftastimpulse the first capacitor C1, a further capacitance C 2 by means of a third thyristor Th 3 is connected in parallel. An anti-parallel connected to this thyristor Th3 diode D1 allows the discharge of the second capacitor C 2 in the closing of Th 2.
