By applying the endless surface, band or filamentary polymeric products with fine particles of organic or inorganic solids, the textile structures are given a rough, woolly, soft feel and are matt, the films become rough and dull and have a low transparency.
Description
The invention relates to a process for the production of dull and roughened surface, band or filamentary polymeric products, preferably natural fiber-like matt and rough textile products made of man-made fibers, in particular of synthetic fibers, or matt and rough polymer films with low transparency.
Synthetic fibers are distinguished from natural fibers by a number of outstanding performance properties. Among the synthetic fibers, the polyester and polyamide fibers take precedence. The filaments of these two fibers are cylindrical and have a smooth surface (apart from the small amount in total amount of spun with special nozzles profile silk). As a result, these fibers and the products made from them look shiny, and they feel smooth (soapy, greasy). The spun-matte fibers also have a considerable gloss. In contrast, fabrics of natural fiber fabrics, especially wool and cotton, have a dull appearance and a rough (wooly) feel.
These differences in gloss and feel are particularly evident when comparing fabrics made of polyester or polyamide silk with wool or cotton fabrics. On the other hand, fabrics made of polyester fibers are closer to the natural fiber products in these properties.
Texturieren wird zwar derShape changes of the polyester and polyamide fibers in the macroscopic range, e.g. by crimping or texturing, only lead to a minimal approximation to the dullness and feel of natural fibers. The same applies to the fibers spun with profile nozzles. The surface areas of the filaments reflecting the light in one direction are still too large for the profiled silks in order to exclude gloss effects. By crimping or texturing is indeed the
Thread and thus the fabric voluminous and softer; however, the smooth, soapy feel is not significantly affected. By roughing, sanding and derived process individual filaments - usually from a special thread system - torn in fabrics made of synthetic silk, so that the crack ends protrude from the surface of the fabric and form a batt. On the one hand, these cracks cause a diffuse reflection of the light, the fabrics appear dull, and on the other hand they lead to a soft, woolly feel. However, these velor-like fabrics are only of interest for specific applications. In addition, these treatments require certain constructions of the fabrics; z. B. smooth, dense tissue can not be treated in this way. Similarly, the lower gloss and woolier feel of fabrics made of yarns is due to the fiber ends protruding from the yarn bundle.
On the one hand, the gloss and feel of textile fabrics are properties dictated by fashion. On the other hand, the general idea of high-quality textile products is based on those made of natural fiber materials. The development of man-made fibers and their modification was and is therefore geared towards the production of fibers and products, which combine new, positive performance characteristics and proven (and usual) properties of natural fibers.
From this point of view is also the demand to see the gloss and feel of synthetic fibers approach those of natural fibers.
Polymer films, for example of polyester, polyamide, polyethylene or triacetate, have smooth, partially glossy surfaces and high transparency.
These properties are disadvantageous for various applications. It is known that films of limited size are roughened by heaped sand on a vibrating table. However, Deises method has the disadvantage that thus no continuous roughening endless webs or bands of polymer film is possible. Furthermore, it is known that textured foil surfaces are achieved by embossing with rollers having a surface corresponding to the embossing pattern. Gloss, feel and transparency of the films are thus only insignificantly influenced. According to a known method, a roughness of films can also by adding appropriate substances to coatings, ζ. B. by adding rice starch to gelatin can be achieved. However, this method has the disadvantage that it is associated with a coating of the film.
The aim of the invention is to make synthetic fibers, in particular synthetic fibers, natural fiber-like with respect to the gloss and the handle, whereby made of synthetic fibers textile products are of higher quality and make polymer films rough, matt and less transparent.
Darlegung des Wesens der Erfindung Technische AufgabeExplanation of the essence of the invention Technical problem
The invention has for its object to provide in a novel way man-made fibers with natural fiber-like feel and gloss and matte, rough and less transparent polymer films.
According to the invention the object is achieved in that surface, band or filamentary polymeric products are subjected to fine particles of organic or inorganic solids. It is advantageous to irradiate the solid particles to continuously moving, endless surface, band or filamentary polymeric products mechanically or by a gas or liquid flow. As solid particles sand, corundum, glass or metal particles, preferably with a particle size of 0.1 to 2 mm, can be used. The individual solid particles may consist of a single substance or of several substances. It is also possible to use mixtures of different solid particles. The solid particles may consist wholly or partly of substances which are partly transferred to the surface, band or filamentary polymeric products during the application. The loading can also take place in that the endless surface, band or filamentary polymeric products are continuously guided by dormant or moving products continuously by stationary or moving solid particles. The surface, band or filamentary polymeric products apply prior to the application of solid particles preparation, or dye these, or to print, or coat. It is particularly advantageous to carry out the application at a temperature of 15 ° C. to the softening temperature of the particular polymer.
These treated flat, band or filamentary polymeric products are dull and rough compared to the untreated materials. Textile materials made from synthetic fibers are given a soft, wooly feel by the treatment and become more like natural fiber. By the treatment of textlien fabrics also the position of the threads is equalized to each other; A more uniform and denser product image is achieved. Treated polymer films are also less transparent.
The process is also suitable for treating non-polymeric films, for example for roughening the surface and reducing the gloss of aluminum foils.
Nachstehend soll die Erfindung an mehreren Ausführungsbeispielen näher erläutert werden:The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to several exemplary embodiments:
According to FTg. 1, an undyed fabric of polyester silk 1 with a basis weight of 60 g / m 2 and 1 m width is passed over a rotating drum 2 and subjected to corundum particles of 0.5 mm particle size in area A. The corundum particles are fed via a 1 m wide inflow vessel 3 and accelerated by an airflow exiting the 1 m wide nozzle 4. The air is at room temperature. The fabric becomes dull and rough to the touch due to the treatment on the corundum particles. In addition, it becomes softer and denser, and the position of the threads becomes more uniform.
A polyester film of 1 m width and 40 / xm thickness is first treated on one side analogously as in Example 1. However, it is loaded with micro glass balls of 0.1 mm diameter. Subsequently, the other side of the film is treated in the same way. The film becomes dull and rough on both sides and reduces transparency.
A dyed and unilaterally coated polyamide silk fabric is first applied to the coated side as in Example 1 in the area A with quartz sand particles of 1.5 mm size. Subsequently, it is loaded on the uncoated side in area B with quartz sand of 0.7 mm particle size (FIG. 2). The fabric becomes softer, rougher and dull with this two-sided treatment. The impermeability of the coating is maintained.
An undyed polyester knitted fabric is treated analogously as in Example 1. However, it is charged with quartz sand particles of 0.5 mm size previously treated in a dispersion of disperse dye and then dried. The acceleration of the particles is carried out with hot air of 190 0 C. The effects mentioned in Example 1 are achieved, and also the knitted fabric is dyed.
An undyed polyester fabric is treated analogously as in Example 1. However, it will be with a mix of. Quartz sand particles and disperse dye granules (mixing ratio 1:10) applied. The acceleration of the particles takes place with air at room temperature. By known thermal aftertreatment of the dye is fixed on the fabric. The treatment leads to the effects mentioned in Example 4.
A polypropylene thread 5 (Figure 3) is passed through chamber 6 filled with quartz sand particles of 0.7 mm particle size. The sand particles are heated by the jacket heater 7 to 125 0 C. The thread receives by this treatment a fine-grained surface, making it dull and rough.
It was surprising that this treatment does not completely or partially destroy the surface, band or filamentary polymeric products, but merely changes the surface of the polymeric products.
