The application of the invention extends to all musical instruments of the harmonica type, that is to say those in which a hand-operated bellows are used to produce the play wind for the sounding tones serving as tone generators. Her most famous representative is the accordion.
Virtually all harmonicas have two playing assemblies, one to play melody with the right hand, the treble range, and one for bass accompaniment with the left hand. Both game modules are designed with keyboard, game mechanics and vocal sticks as separate mechanical units, which are connected by the bellows airtight. The bellows serves as an air reservoir in which pressure is created when it is squeezed and a negative pressure is created when it is pulled apart, through which chimes of both game modules selected during play via valves are excited via the play wind thus generated.
Wesentliche Details zum Stand der Technik sind unter anderem im Fachbuch „Accordeon", Walter Maurer, Edition Harmonia, Wien 1983, erläutert.Essential details of the prior art are inter alia in the textbook "Accordeon", Walter Maurer, Edition Harmonia, Vienna 1983, explained.
Since the bellows serves as a common air storage for both game modules, there are sonic disadvantages. If, for example, notes are selected for bass accompaniment with the left hand, they chop the air flowing through the voice plate channel in the rhythm of their very low-frequency natural vibration. Within the bellows arise for the trapped air so inevitably frequency-adequate over- or under-pressure fluctuations. If the melodic playing takes place simultaneously with the right hand, these notes are excited with a playful wind, to which the frequencies of the bass tone tongues are superimposed as pressure fluctuations. An amplitude modulation of the excited Trebletonzungen with the frequency of the excited Baßtonzungen is inevitable, but equally for the Baßtonzungen by the Trebletonzungen, due to their larger mass but not quite so pronounced. Practically intermodulation distortions result in the form of resulting nonharmonic mixing products, which always occur when a sound oscillating at a certain frequency is simultaneously exposed to one or more other frequencies. The conditions become particularly unfavorable when steeper pulse edges occur. This case, however, is in the Tonzunge. Although it oscillates sinusoidally, it does chop up the air flowing through the reed plate channel. Furthermore, the extraneous frequencies contained in the air stream are also frequency modulated by its velocity variations at the exit from the Stimmplattenkanal due to the Doppler effect. In any case, they mix the pressure fluctuations in the bellows produced by the vibrating treble and bass tongues and sound components of the bass tongues pass through the treble tuning plates and those of the treble tongues over the bass tuning plates. The accordion appears as a complex sound emitter during the game. Although two spatially separate game modules of different musical use and Freqüenzlage are available achievable higher transparency of the sound is lost as a result of mixing. In summary, the disadvantages of conventional harmonic harmonics are the mutual amplitude and frequency modulation of the treble and bass module and the resulting non-harmonic frequency components due to intermodulation, resulting in an insufficiently transparent, complexly mixed, sound image.
The aim of the invention is to improve the sound of conventional harmonic to the effect that a more transparent and distortion-free sound with minimal technical effort is achieved.
The invention has as its object to eliminate the disadvantages of conventional harmonicas, especially their insufficiently transparent sound, while avoiding an inadmissibly high technical complexity.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the bellows for the treble and bass subassembly is subdivided such that for the treble and the bass subassembly separate air accumulators are formed and the separation takes place so that a mutual acoustic coupling between them is largely prevented , In the simplest and at the same time expedient case, this is done by the airtight arrangement of an airtight partition of sound-impermeable material within the bellows, for example, in or on a fold circulation. This may be arranged in the middle of the bellows or asymmetrically so that the ratio of the two air storage volume is optimized with respect to the average playwind demand of treble and bass. In this constructive embodiment of the invention, the partition can still take over the function of bellows stabilization at the same time.
There are numerous variants. Partitions can be arranged longitudinally or even diagonally in the bellows, which, however, have to fold and whose sound insulation is more difficult to achieve. The partition may well have areas that allow air permeable to achieve a steady pressure equalization between the two bellows parts, however, prevent acoustic coupling due to their sound-absorbing material properties. Finally, the partition wall can have sound-reflecting properties on its surface and, in the case of a hollow design with a coupling opening, for example in the direction of the treble board, can additionally serve as a resonance chamber. For special effects, it is conceivable to even divide the bellows several times.
