Abstract
The invention preferably relates to colored candle dipping compositions having a surface gloss effect. It is the object of the invention to effect glossy surfaces on candles by means of a surface-gloss-producing raw material, without application of the previous cooling-water immersion. According to the invention, the object is achieved by adding a mixture of 0.5 to 30% by weight of saturated, higher molecular weight fatty acids having 16 to 22 carbon atoms and hard fats of the same chain length to the dipping composition. For a colored surface gloss, preference is given to using fatty and ocelic azo dyes. The temperature should be in the range of 341 to 358 degrees K.

In the preferred embodiment, a fatty acid mixture of chain length distribution C g is 30 % + 5 % and C is Q 60 +5 $ * The chain length distribution of the hard fats to be used corresponds to the commercially available triglyceride vegetable oils for hydrogenation, such as "B * sunflower, Baps, Hüb- or similar oils or hydrogenated animal body fats." The proportion of hard fatty acid and hardened fat mixture in the Immersion mass is 0.5 to 30.0% by weight, but preferably 1.0 to 3.5% by weight.
