Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur Herstellung eines langen dünnen AluminiumproduktesMethod and apparatus for producing a long thin aluminum product
The invention is applicable to the production of a long thin rolled product of aluminum, such as aluminum wire rod. "
For producing a long, thin aluminum product, it is already known to produce a rod by continuous casting of an aluminum alloy, which is subsequently subjected to a continuous rolling process, under a long thin product is any product, such as one. Wire understood, a band or a profile bar made of aluminum, whose longitudinal dimension is much larger. as the two perpendicular dimensions, regardless of the geometric cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, which can be square, rectangular, round, trapezoidal or otherwise »These products are often referred to as" infinitely long "products.
As is known, continuous casting produces voids resulting from the uneven cooling of the walls of the channel in which the aluminum solidifies to the casting rod. Attempts have been made to eliminate this porosity by a rolling process with a higher degree of reduction, so as to produce sufficient compression to close the voids; but such a compression causes such great internal tensions that the danger of education

Metall während der Erstarrung nicht beseitigt werden können.of cracks, especially where the brittle eutectic deposits are concentrated. For this reason, attempts have been made to find a solution to this problem by providing more uniform cooling on the perimeter of the channel walls. But the practical solutions in this direction result in significant accumulations of the eutectic phase-on-the-surface, which causes cracks to form during subsequent rolling. Conversely, the possible solutions to avoid such concentrations of eutectic phases during solidification are of such a kind that the blowholes in the. Metal can not be removed during solidification.
In this respect, therefore, the problem remains to qualitatively improve the product produced by rolling a cast rod, unsolved .:
The object of the invention is to provide a method and an apparatus for economically producing long thin aluminum products having high utility value properties.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, die Anhäufungen der eutektischen Phase an der Oberfläche während der Erstarrung des Aluminiumgießstranges zu reduzieren«The object of the invention is to reduce the accumulation of the eutectic phase on the surface during the solidification of the cast aluminum strand.
According to the invention, the object is now achieved in that the casting rod is subjected to continuous extrusion between the continuous casting operation and the rolling.

Wechselwirkung von Geschwindigkeit und "Druck sehr weit in.den Bereich der plastischen Deformation gebracht, so daß die heterogene dendritenartige poröse Struktur mit ihren Anhäufungen von Eutektikum zerstört wird, und die erzielte Struktur ist einer/durch Homogenisieren nach dem Heißwalzen erreichten ähnlicheExtrusion, which is currently known for forming long thin products having a desired cross-sectional profile from cast blocks, requires homogenizing the blocks and eliminating the eutectic clumps on the surface of the blocks by mechanical means to allow the exit of the blocks Extrusion press receives a sufficiently efficient speed. A rod obtained by conventional continuous casting techniques, for example by means of a casting wheel, exhibits a much lower heterogeneity than a cast ingot, and it now turns out that such a rod is devoid of the usual. Pretreatment can be directly extruded at a speed sufficient to allow the rod to be fed at its normal operating speed after leaving the casting wheel, thus allowing continuous extrusion at the exit of the continuous casting machine at the normal practical speeds This extrusion process, the metal is through; the. The interaction of velocity and pressure is brought very far into the range of plastic deformation, so that the heterogeneous dendrite-like porous structure is destroyed with its accumulations of eutectic, and the obtained structure is similar to that achieved by homogenization after hot rolling
Im Sinne der Erfindung ist auch, daß die Extrusionsdüse die Porm eines flachen Rechtecks hat und der Querschnitt der Extrusions du se größer ist als der Querschnitt der Gußstange, -In a further embodiment of the method according to the invention it is provided that the extrusion is carried out as an extrusion by friction It is also within the meaning of the invention for the extrusion die to have the shape of a flat rectangle and the cross-section of the extrusion to be larger as the cross section of the cast bar,

: According to the invention, too, the continuous casting is carried out in a casting wheel, the rim of which has a groove which is covered with a flexible band so as to provide a channel for solidification. form, in which the cooling on the belt side is delayed from that on the rim side, with the exception of a jet of water which is directed at the entrance zn the solidification channel on the tape. :
Vorzugsweise ist das verwendete Aluminium eine Al-Mg-Si-Legierung für elektrischen Leitungsdraht,Preferably, the aluminum used is an Al-Mg-Si alloy for electrical conductor wire,
As appropriate, it has also been shown that the continuous extrusion of a quenching to a temperature below 260 0 C, during which the aluminum is rolled into wire rod ^ It is also advantageous if the continuous extrusion of a purely thermal quenching step to a temperature below 260 0 C, which is followed by a thermo-mechanical step in which the aluminum is processed at a temperature in the range of 130 0 G to 260 0 G and then subjected to aging before any subsequent processing.
The apparatus for carrying out the method according to the invention expediently comprises, in the flow direction, a continuously operating casting machine for producing a casting rod, a continuous extrusion press and a continuous rolling mill. The continuous casting machine is preferably a continuous casting wheel. In the context of the invention it is further provided that the continuous Estrusionspresse comprises a friction wheel.

Für die Extrusion wird die im verfestigten Metall noch vorhandene WärmeThe process is also very rational because it is a continuous process, starting from the molten metal which does not need to be reheated after the necessary cooling, otherwise required for the intermediate treatment of the cast product prior to extrusion. For extrusion, the heat still present in the solidified metal
However, intermediate heating between the outlet of the continuous casting machine and the entry into the Estrusionswerkzeug can be made to achieve an ideal inlet temperature, depending on the composition of the alloy, the dimensions used and the other parameters of the extrusion system ·
A very significant advantage of the invention resides in the fact that the profile of the product being screened can be chosen freely; this means that the input form can be selected for the subsequent rolling process ». Consequently, the process can be applied largely without regard to the geometric shape of the end product and can be used especially for the production of flat strips, ie end products with a cross section which is twice as long. * As wide * The product can also be shaped after rolling Of rolled wire with round cross-section have a diameter of generally between 5 and 22 mm, in most Pailen between 7 and 12 mm.

The continuous. Extrusion is carried out, for example, by the method known by the name of "Conforme Extrusion" and which is described in detail in Swiss Patent Nos. 3,765,216 and 4,101,253 * The process is outlined in FIG The apparatus used comprises a friction wheel 1 with a diameter of 450 mm which rotates at about 55 rpm. The circumference of this wheel has one. Groove 2, which is at an angle «C (generally about 100 °) of the eschfangs covered with a cover 3, so that a channel 4 is formed, the 'in an extrusion nozzle 5 opens. The greeting bar 6 is tangentially directed to the wheel and in the direction of the arrow 7 to the entrance of the extrusion channel. The friction of the wheel with the casting rod 6 generates heat and creates a pressure in the channel 4, so that the aluminum is extruded through the extrusion nozzle 5 in the direction of the arrow 8 in the form of a long, thin product whose cross section corresponds to the shape of the Extrusion nozzle. 5 corresponds ». This process will be referred to as "extrusion by friction" below.

The wheel leaves at a speed of 12m / min and at a temperature of 500 ° C. »This rod becomes directly at the inlet end of the friction wheel. 1, in which it is extruded to a cross-sectional area of 1000 mm. Then the metal is rolled with a reduction of 20% per stitch to a diameter of 9 »5 mn»
One way of achieving this goal may be to use a continuous casting wheel 11 (Pig. 2 and 3) having a groove 12 at its periphery over its entire circumference which is covered on its, most part with a metallic endless belt 13, so that a channel 14 is formed for the solidification. The belt 13 is guided by rollers 15, 16, 17 and 18 at the same linear speed (in the direction of arrow 19) as the peripheral speed of the casting wheel 11. The liquid metal is poured into a hopper 20 and the solidified rod 21 leaves the wheel in the direction of the arrow 22 ·· The inner surface and the side surfaces of the rim are cooled by spray water coming from several nozzles arranged on a circular arc 23 on the inside of the casting wheel 11, as shown in detail in Pig: 2 and 3 , The outside covered with the band 13 is also cooled with spray water jets coming from nozzles, these nozzles being mounted on circular arcs 24 and 25, as known in the art of continuous casting. With the same cooling on the side of the pelvis and on the side of the belt 13, the last-mentioned side cools off more quickly because the belt 13, which must be flexible, is much thinner. Under these conditions, voids form as a result of uneven cooling. This is the reason why the cooling circumference arc, which, by the circular

Der aus dieser Düse 27 austretende Wasserstrahl ist so eingestellt, daß man einen genügend dicken Film erhält,., ohne jedoch die Abkühlung auf der Bandseite mit derjenigen auf der anderen Seite, aus dem Gleichgewicht zu bringen, bows 24, 25 is formed on the band side at an angle ß against the cooling arc, which is defined by the circular arc 23, is offset on the rim side, so that a more uniform cooling receives «This displacement angle can be moved by moving the circular arc 24 to the circular arc 25th can be adjusted in the direction of the arrows 26 and he can for each special pail depending on the speed and. the cross section of the bar, the composition of the alloy, the temperature. However, it is necessary that a sufficiently thick aluminum film is formed directly at the entrance to the pouring channel and on the strip side, so that the eutectic connections through this film can not be pushed to the surface during solidification That is, the initial film is responsible for the high concentration of eutectic compounds on the belt side of the surface. To form this sufficiently thick film right at the beginning, the cooling system on the 3andseite is still equipped with a nozzle 27, which is used at the beginning of the channel 14 for solidification. The water jet issuing from this nozzle 27 is adjusted so as to obtain a sufficiently thick film, but without unbalancing the cooling on the band side with that on the other side,
Bei einer solchen Legierung geht die kontinuierliche Extrusion einer Abschreckung auf eine TemperaturThe method of the present invention is preferably used in a process for producing wire rod of an Al-Mg-Si alloy for electric lead wire, that is, an alloy of 0.3 to 0.9. Und dabei werden auch noch die Vorteile der vorliegenden Erfindung ausgenützt.below 260 ° C., and during this quenching, the aluminum is rolled out to the wire rod. The continuous extrusion can be carried out before a just thermal quenching step, ie, a quenching to a temperature below 260 0 C without any mechanical treatment, followed by a second thermo-mechanical step follows, in which the aluminum at a temperature in the range of 130 to 260 0 G processed and then subjected to aging before any subsequent processing. The second step preferably follows immediately after the first in the same continuous flow. In prior patent applications by the same inventor (LU 80,656 and LTJ 83,249), it has been demonstrated that such a treatment precedes quenching by hot working at as high a temperature as possible, preferably above 470 ° C, and with as little cooling as possible In order to keep maximum alloying components in solution prior to quenching, this results in a very advantageous metallographic structure. Such a hot working step may be carried out in the form of the extrusion contained in the method according to the invention. " This is very convenient, because this is a processing step in which the metal does not cool, but on the contrary, is heated. And while still the advantages of the present invention are exploited.
Dieses Querschnittsverhältnis kann mit der günstigsten Auslauf- und Einlauf geschwindigkeit und demIt should be noted that the main purpose of the extrusion process is to improve the metallographic structure of the aluminum, and not necessarily to reduce the cross-section of the greeting bar entering the continuous extrusion press. [Fach fach] The cross section of the extrusion die may be made larger be as the cross section of the casting rod .. This aspect ratio can with the cheapest outlet and inlet speed and the
