Abstract

Ένα σύστημα για τη διεξαγωγή μιας θαλάσσιας σεισμικής έρευνας χρησιμοποιεί ένα προωθούμενο σκάφος (40) που ρυμουλκεί τουλάχιστον ένα σύνολο σεισμικής πηγής (100) όπισθεν αυτού. Το σύστημα ελέγχου πλοήγησης (42) του προωθούμενου σκάφους έχει λάβει εντολές να κατευθύνει το προωθούμενο σκάφος σε απόκριση προς πληροφορίες θέσης που επαναλαμβανόμενα παράγονται από ένα παγκόσμιο σύστημα εντοπισμού θέσης πηγής (GPS, 130) που αποτελεί μέρος του συνόλου σεισμικής πηγής που ρυμουλκείται.
