BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a density device for a circular knitting machine for hosiery and the like comprising a retractable lock actuated axially movably by a kinematic transmission by an electric motor from the machine's microcomputer.

It is known that in knitted multi-system circular knitting machines, unwanted transverse striping is created on the fabric, which is produced by non-uniform collection of yarns in individual knitting systems and manifests itself as regularly alternating lines with different lengths of stitches. The length of the stitches and hence the yarn rate of the yarn in the respective knitting system is determined by the depth of pull of the needle hooks below the revealing plane and is also influenced by the tension of the unwound yarn from which the respective stitches form. Needle stroke determines density locks and thread tension affects the adjustment of the ntl brake and winding quality on the bobbin. Since even slight changes in the depth of the needle retraction or in the tension of the unwound yarn greatly affect the length of the stitches, the quality of the fabric often has to be checked several times per working shift and the density locks or the yarn braking measured. Adjusting the density locks is difficult and time-consuming, especially for multi-system knitting machines. It is carried out by checking the length of the loops of the fabric or by using a special hand-held device to measure the rate of yarn unwinding in the individual knitting systems. Then, the density locks are adjusted manually by means of setscrews. This device eliminates adjustment difficulties, the lock position of the locks is controlled by the microcomputer program. However, even this device does not have a backward check on the synchronization of density lock positions in individual knitting systems and thus does not prevent cross striations. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is to overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages, which is essentially fulfilled by the device comprising a sensor for measuring the speed of the yarn supplied to the needles connected to the control microcomputer of the machine. An advantage of the invention is the fact that the velocity values supplied by the sensor to the control microcomputer are compared here during knitting with the rates recorded for that section of knitting in the program and based on this comparison, commands are sent to the electric motor which affects the density lock setting automatically during knitting ·

The device according to the invention is schematically shown in the attached drawing.

The known single-cylinder circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery and the like is provided with a needle cylinder 1 in whose longitudinal grooves 2 are knitting needles 2 and below them other known not shown platinum.
