Abstract
Un método para operar una unidad de localización de vehículo en donde se recibe una señal de activación cuando es robado el vehículo y en respuesta a la señal de activación, se transmite una señal que indica que el vehículo ha sido robado. El receptor se energiza para una duración real Nencendido periódicamente para detectar la activación y otras señales. Estimar cuánto tiempo ha estado encendido el receptor incluye incrementar un contador en una resolución de conteo donde Nencendido es típicamente por lo menos algunas veces menor que la resolución de conteo. Estimar la cantidad total de tiempo en la que se energiza el receptor que se basa en un tiempo de encendido medido después de que converge con el tiempo de encendido real.
