Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con una unidad EOT que detecta una fuerza excesiva de fin de tren, usando un acelerómetro y reporta la fuerza excesiva. El reporte puede hacerse a un dispositivo localizado fuera del tren, a un registrador del evento en la unidad EOT y/o a otro dispositivo localizado en el tren, tal como una unidad de cabeza de tren y/o un registrador de evento localizado fuera de la unidad EOT. El acelerómetro puede ser un acelerómetro simple, doble o triaxial. El mensaje puede enviarse en respuesta a la detección de la aceleración excesiva o puede ser parte de un mensaje transmitido periódicamente de la unidad EOT a una unidad HOT. Una unidad HOT se configura para recibir un mensaje que indica una aceleración HOT excesiva y exhibe una indicación de la aceleración excesiva al operador, registra el mensaje en un registrador de evento y/o reporta la aceleración excesiva al dispositivo localizado fuera del tren.
