Abstract

Un proceso para la producción de una fuente de calor (4) carbonácea cilíndrica, para un artículo para fumar calentado, las fuentes de calor tiene un canal longitudinal de flujo de aire que se extiende por esta, a superficie interior del cual está cubierta con una capa de recubrimiento (22) que comprende las etapas de: (a) formar las fuentes de calor cilíndrica (4) mediante la extrusión de un material carbonáceo por una boquilla (6) que comprende un orificio (8) con un mandril (10) montado en esta para formar el canal de flujo de aire; y (b) aplicar un compuesto de recubrimiento fluido (16) a la superficie interior del canal de flujo de aire después del mandril. El compuesto de recubrimiento (16) es alimentado por un pasaje de alimentación (12) que se extiende longitudinalmente por el mandril (10) y tiene una salida en el extremo de esta. El compuesto de recubrimiento (16) humedece la superficie interior del canal longitudinal como resultado de las fuerzas de adhesión entre el compuesto de recubrimiento y la superficie interior, formando así la capa de recubrimiento (22) a medida que el artículo cilíndrico (4) es extruido.
