Abstract

1.- Una ortesis que comprende: una capa amortiguadora de espuma configurada para extenderse desde la región de talón de un usuario hasta al menos la región metatarsiana anterior del usuario cuando la ortesis está en uso;una envoltura de soporte que tiene una superficie superior y una superficie inferior, la envoltura de soporte más dura que la capa amortiguadora de espuma y colocada bajo la capa amortiguadora de espuma, la envoltura de soporte configurada para extenderse de manera longitudinal desde por lo menos la articulación astrágalo-navicular a la articulación cuneiforme medio - primer metatarsiano del usuario y lateralmente por debajo de al menos el hueso cuneiforme medio del usuario cuando la ortesis está en uso, la envoltura de soporte incluyendo una pestaña volteada hacia arriba sobre el lado medio y una abertura en la superficie inferior configurada para recibir un inserto removible; y un inserto removible configurado para ser recibido de manera removible en la abertura, el inserto alterando las propiedades de soporte de la ortesis cuando éste es recibido en la abertura, el inserto cuando se recibe en la abertura extendiéndose longitudinalmente desde al menos la articulación astrágalo-navicular a la articulación cuneiforme - primer metatarsiano del usuario, cuando está en uso. 2.- La ortesis de la reivindicación 1, en donde la capa externa envolvente está configurada para soportar el arco del usuario cuando la ortesis está en uso. 3.- La ortesis de la reivindicación 1, en donde el inserto rernovible es más duro que la capa externa envolvente. 4.- Una ortesis según la reivindicación 1, en donde el inserto removible tiene una dureza Shore en el rango de 59D a 71D. 5.- Una ortesis según la reivindicación 1, en donde el inserto removible tiene una dureza Shore en el rango 69D a 79D.
