Abstract
1.- Un proceso para la preparación de la Forma B cristalina deshidratada de gabapentina que comprende:(a) deshidratar de gabapentina monohidrato para formar la Forma A cristalina deshidratada de gabapentina y (b) dejar que la forma A deshidratada repose a temperatura ambiente para formar la Forma B cristalina deshidratada de gabapentina.2.- El proceso de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, en el cual el paso de deshidratación (a) se lleva a cabo aplicando un vacío, un desecante o calor.3.- El proceso de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, en el cual se deshidrata la gabapentina monohidrato en un ambiente en el cual la actividad hídrica se mantiene por debajo de aproximadamente 0,8 a aproximadamente 0,9.4.- El proceso de acuerdo con la reivindicación 2, en el cual se aplica calor a una temperatura ambiente de entre aproximadamente 50 y aproximadamente 175°C.5.- El proceso de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, en el cual se deja que la forma A deshidratada repose en atmósfera inerte o en un envase sellado.6.- El proceso de acuerdo con la reivindicación 2, en el cual se prepara gabapentina monohidrato mediante los siguientes pasos, que comprenden (a) suspender gabapentina en un solvente o mezcla de solventes con una actividad hídrica de más de aproximadamente 0,8 a aproximadamente 0,9;(b) cristalizar y recoger gabapentina monohidrato en un filtro.
