通常,等离子显示面板(在下文中,称为PDP)通过使用在比如He+Xe混合物或Ne+Xe混合物的惰性混合气体放电期间产生的147nm紫外线激发荧光材料以发射光线来显示包括字符或图形的图像。

另外,本发明的另一目的是提供一种等离子显示设备及其驱动方法,其能够改进在驱动等离子显示面板情况下因为开关元件的部分偏差的缘故引起的电流特性的不平衡。
根据本发明的等离子显示设备包括:等离子显示面板,其用于显示图像;和多个能量回收电路,其用于提供维持脉冲到等离子显示面板,其中多个能量回收电路的每一个独立于不同子场的维持周期提供维持脉冲到等离子显示面板。

根据本发明第一实施例的能量回收电路在驱动等离子显示设备的情况下在维持周期期间提供维持脉冲到等离子显示面板。在这时,由第一及第二能量回收电路200,200’提供的维持脉冲分别由用于控制驱动脉冲的时序的时序控制器A、B独立提供到等离子显示面板Cp。就是说,第一及第二能量回收电路200,200’在驱动等离子显示面板的情况下在不同子场的维持周期中分别提供独立的维持驱动脉冲到等离子显示面板。
更为具体地说,第一能量回收电路在奇数号码的子场SF1,SF3,SF5...的维持周期中提供维持驱动脉冲到等离子显示面板的扫描电极Y或维持电极Z,且第二能量回收电路在偶数号码的子场SF2,SF4,SF6...的维持周期中提供维持驱动脉冲到等离子显示面板的扫描电极Y或维持电极Z。
图9是根据本发明第二实施例的等离子显示设备的能量回收电路的视图,且图10是用于说明根据本发明第二实施例的能量回收电路的驱动方法的视图。
根据本发明第二实施例的能量回收电路类似于第一实施例,也至少由扫描驱动器或维持驱动器之一组成,且以复数形成能量回收电路。多个能量回收电路优选的由第一能量回收电路300和第二能量回收电路300’组成。
每个能量回收电路300,300’具有和根据本发明第一实施例的每个能量回收电路200,200’相同的结构,且省略其详细描述。
根据本发明第二实施例的能量回收电路300,300’在驱动等离子显示设备的情况下,在维持周期中提供维持脉冲到等离子显示面板,如图10所示。在这时,由第一及第二能量回收电路300,300’提供的维持脉冲分别由用于控制驱动脉冲的时序的时序控制器A’,B’独立提供到等离子显示面板Cp。就是说,第一及第二能量回收电路300,300’在驱动等离子显示设备的情况下在相同子场的维持周期中,分别提供独立的维持驱动脉冲到等离子显示面板。
更为具体地说,第一能量回收电路300在子场的维持周期中提供奇数号码的维持驱动脉冲Sus1,Sus3,Sus5...到等离子显示面板的扫描电极Y或维持电极Z,且第二能量回收电路300’在子场的和操作第一能量回收电路时的时间相同的维持周期中,提供偶数号码的维持驱动脉冲Sus2,Sus4,Sus6...到等离子显示面板的扫描电极Y或维持电极Z。
这样,通过在驱动等离子显示设备的情况下多个能量回收电路独立提供能量到等离子显示面板,根据本发明第一及第二实施例的等离子显示设备能够根据提供维持脉冲增强驱动裕量,并且增强比如根据通过一个能量回收电路提供维持脉冲到现有整个等离子显示面板所产生的不平衡电流提供和开关元件的部分偏差的驱动特性。
另外,在根据本发明第一及第二实施例的等离子显示设备中,维持脉冲的输出点P向着等离子显示面板Cp,也就是,第一能量回收电路200,300的维持驱动脉冲的输入端,以及第二能量回收电路200’,300’的维持驱动脉冲的输入端彼此公共连接。因此,能够防止由电流的相位差产生的电流消除。
这样描述了本发明,和明显可以以多种方式进行修改。这种修改不被认为脱离本发明的精神和范围,且所有这种对于本领域普通技术人员显而易见的修改意在被包括在下面权利要求的范围中。
Claims (17)
1.一种等离子显示设备,其包括:
等离子显示面板,其用于显示图像;和
多个能量回收电路,其用于提供维持脉冲到等离子显示面板,其中
多个能量回收电路的每一个独立于不同子场的维持周期提供维持脉冲到等离子显示面板。
2.如权利要求1所述的等离子显示设备,其中,
该多个能量回收电路的数目是两个。
3.如权利要求2所述的等离子显示设备,其中,
该多个能量回收电路由第一和第二能量回收电路组成,
第一能量回收电路在奇数号码的子场的维持周期中提供维持驱动脉冲到等离子显示面板,
第二能量回收电路在偶数号码的子场的维持周期中提供维持驱动脉冲到等离子显示面板。
4.如权利要求3所述的等离子显示设备,其中
第一能量回收电路的维持驱动脉冲输入端和第二能量回收电路的维持驱动脉冲输入端彼此公共连接,且依次连接等离子显示面板。
5.如权利要求1所述的等离子显示设备,其中,
该能量回收电路包括:
能量提供/回收单元,其用于提供能量到等离子显示面板/从等离子显示面板回收能量;和
维持电压源单元,其包括维持电压源,第三开关组和第四开关组,使得向等离子显示面板应用维持电压和地电平电压。
6.如权利要求5所述的等离子显示设备,其中,
该第三开关组和第四开关组并联连接在等离子显示面板和能量提供/回收单元之间。
7.如权利要求5所述的等离子显示设备,其中,
该能量提供/回收单元包括,
电感,其用于通过谐振提供和回收在等离子显示面板的源电压源中存储的能量,和
第一开关组和第二开关组,其用于执行开关操作使得通过电感将能量提供到等离子显示面板和从等离子显示面板回收能量。
8.如权利要求7所述的等离子显示设备,其中,
该第一开关组和第二开关组并联连接在源电压源和电感之间。

能量提供/回收单元,其用于提供能量到等离子显示面板/从等离子显示面板回收能量;和
