本发明涉及一种用于随选独立多媒体信息分配的系统及方法。
背景技术
有线电视已经变成广泛使用的日用品。有线电视一般在局端包括有多个音频/视频传输通道,这些音频/视频传输通道可被收容于一个内容服务器。该内容服务器是一个适于向处于不同位置的远程客户端收集、累积、打包、发送及广播多媒体数据的信息存储单元。一般中心内容服务器位于服务供应商的局端,其可包括多个位于不同地理位置之内容服务器。
典型地,有线电视都是从位于服务供应商所处位置之内容服务器通过线缆传送给终端用户。该内容服务器在一条共享的线缆上向终端用户同时发送所有的频道。终端用户需订购内容服务器所提供的服务。电视机和机顶盒位于终端用户所处位置,用以解码并显示频道内容。机顶盒被用来允许终端用户访问其所订购的频道。
一般来讲,在有线电视服务供应商所处位置有一个信号分配单元,该信号分配单元可从至少一个卫星信号接收装置,亦即至少一颗卫星中接收所有频道。终端用户的机顶盒与其电视机相连,可以用智能卡来给终端用户授权或识别终端用户。
每一终端用户可以订购不同的频道包,也就是说,每一终端用户所订购的频道数量可以是变化的。上述信号分配单元通过线缆与每一终端用户的机顶盒和电视机相连接,并同时向所有的终端用户分配所有的频道。
机顶盒允许终端用户访问(观看)其所订购的频道,并禁止访问(禁止收看)其没有订购的频道。终端用户可以通过摇控机顶盒使其解码并发送特定频道至电视机显示,从而选择其所需要浏览的频道。
由于所有的频道都被传送给了终端用户,这样终端用户可以非法解码其所没有订购的频道,从而使服务供应商蒙受损失。此外,随着频道数量的增加,所需的带宽也相应增加。这样,大量的带宽就被浪费了,因为终端用户在同一时间只会看一个或两个频道的节目,并且电视机大部分的时间都处于关机状态。这样,最终的结果就是超过99%的带宽被浪费掉了。
对于本领域的技术人员而言,现有的技术还有一些其它的限制或不利,这些都可通过对比以下结合附图描述的本发明来了解。
发明内容
本发明可应用于包含内容服务器的多媒体分配网络,所述内容服务器可接收及管理多个来自至少一个卫星接收器的多媒体传输通道。每一多媒体传输通道包含有多个流媒体频道。所述多媒体分配网络也可包含有一个分配单元,其用于独立发送点播的流媒体频道。该多媒体分配网络还可包含多个终端用户机顶盒,每一机顶盒可用于独立请求多媒体频道。该分配单元用于从内容服务器中获得被请求的流媒体频道并将其分别发送至需求该频道的终端用户机顶盒中。
根据本发明的一个实施例,内容服务器包括有存储单元,用于接收及存储多媒体传输信息。
根据本发明的一个实施例,内容服务器可即时访问多媒体频道,所述多媒体频道是由卫星接收器传送到分配单元。该内容服务器也可以验证及授权来自于终端用户机顶盒的频道请求。
根据本发明的一个实施例,分配单元和终端用户机顶盒之间可通过有线或无线连接之一相互通信。分配单元包含有多个传输头,该传输头包含有交换器或中继器之一,以维持与位于多个终端用户处的机顶盒之间的持续通信。
根据本发明的一个实施例,所述分配单元也可以通过无线接收器和无线发送器与多个终端用户机顶盒相通信。
根据本发明的一个实施例,所述多个终端用户机顶盒包含有一个用于处理及管理频道请求以及所接收到的多媒体频道信息的处理器,以及一个用于解码所接收到的多媒体频道信息的解码器。多媒体频道信息是被编码后进行传输的。机顶盒还包含有操作系统、用于在处理和解码过程中缓存多媒体频道信息的随机存取内存、用于向分配单元传送频道请求的发送器、以及一个用于接收多媒体频道信息和与频道请求有关的讯息的接收器。
根据本发明的一个实施例,所述多媒体分配网络还包括有一个使用计量器,用于监视频道请求以及各终端用户机顶盒浏览多媒体信息的时长。
根据本发明的一个实施例,所述多媒体分配网络还包括有一个使用存储器,用于存储所监视的频道请求信息以及各终端用户机顶盒浏览多媒体信息的时长,以备后续估价。
根据本发明的一个实施例,所述网络还包括有用户数据库存储器,用于存储每一终端用户的信息。该用户数据库存储器还至少包括订购的频道、终端用户机顶盒信息、用户消费限制以及用户个人信息之一。
本发明还提供有一个在多媒体分配网络中减少带宽使用量的方法,该方法包括如下步骤:从机顶盒发送频道请求至多媒体信息供应商;内容服务器或分配单元接收该频道请求;评估该频道请求以确定该请求是否有效或被授权。如果该频道请求有效或被授权,则传送所请求的频道。如果该频道请求无效或没有被授权,则回应该频道请求没有被授权的讯息。
根据本发明的一个实施例,所述多媒体信息供应商和机顶盒之间可进行有线或无线通信。
根据本发明的一个实施例,上述方法还包括有接收和存储多媒体传送信息以及提供即时访问所请求的流媒体的步骤。
根据本发明的一个实施例,上述方法还包括有访问及评估用户数据库存储器以确定频道请求是否有效或被授权的步骤。
根据本发明的一个实施例,该用户数据库存储器包括终端用户机顶盒信息、终端用户频道订购信息、终端用户消费限制信息以及终端用户受限频道信息中的至少一个。
根据本发明的一个实施例,传送频道请求包括将所请求的频道多媒体信息传送至终端用户机顶盒。
根据本发明的一个实施例,回应频道请求的讯息包括发布一个订购所请求频道的提示以及为浏览该频道付费的提示。
根据本发明的一个实施例,本发明降低带宽的方法还包括有计量及计算各终端用户机顶盒的多媒体使用量的步骤,该计量由使用计量器实现。所述使用计量器可监视终端用户频道选择状况以及浏览信息的时间。被监视的信息存储在使用存储器中。这样终端用户的浏览习惯就可以被评估及分析。
根据本发明的一个实施例,本发明降低带宽的方法还包括有在使用存储器中创建终端用户浏览状况的使用日志的步骤。该使用日志记录有从终端用户机顶盒接收的频道请求以及频道传输时长,其存储于使用存储器中,并可与频道及时间节目表作比较以确定终端用户的浏览习惯。
根据本发明的一个实施例,只有被选择和请求的多媒体信息会被传送给各终端用户。
本发明可应用于机顶盒中,用于从多媒体分配网络中接收多媒体信息。所述机顶盒包括有与无线多媒体分配局端进行通信的天线、处理频道请求并接收多媒体信息的处理器、用于解码所传输的多媒体的音频/视频解码器、用于在处理和解码期间缓存信息的随机存取内存、操作系统以及组合收发器。
根据本发明的一个实施例,该机顶盒还可包括有线缆输出以将接收到并解码后的多媒体信息传送给显示设备。
根据本发明的一个实施例,终端用户可远程选择一个频道浏览,其中机顶盒用于确认终端用户是否订购并被授权浏览所选择的频道。如果所选择的频道没有被授权浏览,机顶盒会在显示设备上显示相关讯息以通知终端用户。该讯息可提示终端用户订购所选择的频道。
根据本发明的一个实施例,在从终端用户收到一个频道选择请求之后,机顶盒将该请求无线传送到本地服务供应商的分配单元。所述请求由组合收发器进行传送。
根据本发明的一个实施例,该机顶盒还可无线接收发送的频道多媒体信息。
根据本发明的一个实施例,所传输的多媒体信息可被天线接收并传送给机顶盒的处理器,然后处理器将该多媒体信息传送至音频/视频解码器。音频/视频解码器将该多媒体信息解码并通过线缆输出到显示装置。
本发明提供了一种多媒体分配网络,其包括:
一内容服务器,用于接收及管理来自至少一个卫星接收器的多个多媒体传输,其中每个多媒体传输包括有多个多媒体频道;
一分配单元,用于从终端用户机顶盒接收多媒体频道请求。
较优地,所述分配单元可独立发送所请求的多媒体频道。
较优地,上述终端用户机顶盒可独立请求多媒体频道。

本发明提供的在多媒体分配网络中降低带宽的方法包括有如下步骤:
内容服务器和分配单元中的至少一个从机顶盒中接收频道请求;
评估该频道请求以确认该频道请求是否有效或被授权;
如果该频道请求有效或被授权,则开始传送被请求的频道;如果该频道请求无效或未授权,则返回一讯息以说明该频道请求未被授权。
较优地,所述多媒体讯息供应商通过无线或有线方式与机顶盒通信。
较优地,上述方法还包括有接收并存储多媒体频道信息,以及提供访问被请求的流媒体频道的步骤。
较优地,上述方法还包括有访问并评估用户数据库存储器以确认频道请求是否有效或被授权的步骤。

本发明还提供了一种机顶盒,其包括:
一用于处理及管理频道请求以及接收的多媒体频道信息的处理器,其中多媒体频道信息包括被编码的音频信息和视频信息;
一用于解码接收到的多媒体频道信息的解码器,所述多媒体信息被编码以用于传输,其中解码器可包括组合的音频/视频解码单元;
一用于传送频道请求至分配单元的发送器;
以及一用于接收多媒体频道信息和与频道请求相关的讯息的接收器,其中该发送器和接收器包括组合发送/接收单元。
本发明还提供了一种请求多媒体频道并从多媒体分配网络接收多媒体信息的机顶盒,该机顶盒还包括有:
用于与多媒体分配网络的局端进行无线通信的天线;
处理器,用于处理及管理频道请求以及接收的多媒体信息(包括音频和视频信息);
用于解码音频信息的音频解码器;
用于解码视频信息的视频解码器;
用于传送频道请求至分配单元的发送器;
以及用于接收多媒体频道信息和与频道请求相关的讯息的接收器。
较优地,所述音频解码器和视频解码器包括组合的音频/视频解码单元。
较优地,该机顶盒还包括有一线缆输出以将接收并解码后的多媒体信息传送至显示设备。
较优地,当终端用户选择浏览某一频道时,机顶盒可确认该终端用户是否订购或被授权浏览该选择的频道,如果所选择的频道没有被授权浏览,机顶盒会在显示设备上显示一讯息以通知终端用户,该讯息可提示终端用户订购所选择的频道或为浏览该频道付费。
较优地,当接收到一个频道选择请求时,该机顶盒可无线发送该频道请求至本地服务供应商处的分配单元。

具体实施方式
图1所示为本发明实施方式中卫星传送/接收系统100之示意图。图1中卫星130可传送多媒体信息110至卫星接收器120。该卫星接收器120位于服务供应商所处位置。
上述服务供应商可以是有线电视服务供应商、因特网服务供应商、广播服务供应商以及其它多媒体服务供应商。卫星接收器120所接收的多媒体信息110通过传输线缆140传送给服务供应商。
图1所示的卫星传送/接收系统100可包括多颗卫星130以及多个卫星接收器120,其中每颗卫星130可传送多个多媒体频道至相应的卫星接收器120。
在本发明的实施方式中,上述多个卫星接收器120可位于与服务供应商不同之地理位置,并可按阵列排列,每个卫星接收器120可被指定接收来自相应卫星的多媒体频道。
在卫星接收器120阵列中,服务供应商提供给所有频道的多媒体信息被汇整编码,以利卫星向多个远端的服务供应商传送和分配。
根据本发明的一个实施例,每一多媒体传输可以是多个电视频道、多个广播频道或者是多个因特网传输等。上述多个多媒体传输可传送至多个服务供应商处的内容服务器。
图2所示为本发明中位于终端用户所在的多媒体显示组件200的示意图。该多媒体显示组件200包括有电视机210及与其相连的机顶盒220。在终端用户所处位置,多媒体传输可从输入线缆240接收到。输入线缆240可直接或间接连接到本地服务供应商处的内容服务器。
经由输入线缆240传送的多媒体传输可被机顶盒220接收,另一根线缆230可将机顶盒220连接至电视机210。终端用户处所接收到的多媒体传输包括有可显示或浏览由服务供应商提供的频道,不论该频道是否被订购。
由于要传送大量的信息(即服务供应商提供的每一频道),多媒体传输需要很大的带宽。但是,就单个电视机(例如电视机210)而言,一个终端用户只能够观看至多两个频道(假定该电视机210采用了画中画(picture-in-picture,PIP)显示)。
假设终端用户处所接收的多媒体信息包括有600到1000个可被订购、浏览以及同时传输的独立频道,这样即使终端用户能够通过画中画功能同时观看两个频道,也有超过99%的带宽以及多媒体信息被浪费掉了。根据本发明的一个实施例,只有被选择浏览的信息会被传送给终端用户。
在根据本发明的一个实施例中,传送给终端用户的是其所请求的多媒体信息,而不是服务供应商所提供的所有频道。例如,如果终端用户选择一个其已订购的频道浏览,机顶盒220会向位于地理上最近(本地)的内容服务器发送与该频道相关的多媒体信息的请求。作为回应,内容服务器会传送与选择的频道相关的多媒体信息。
机顶盒220还可确认终端用户在发送请求前是否订购了其所选择的频道。在根据本发明的一个实施例中,机顶盒220可发送请求至内容服务器,其中内容服务器可用于确定终端用户是否订购了所请求的频道。
如果终端用户订购了所选择的频道,并已被机顶盒220或内容服务器确认,作为回应,内容服务器会传送与所选择的频道相关的多媒体信息。如果终端用户没有订购所选择的频道,则机顶盒220或本地内容服务器会生成一讯息显示于电视机210,以通知终端用户该频道没有订购并且当前没有被授权浏览。终端用户可被提示订购、或为浏览该选择的频道付费(例如为每一浏览付费)。
根据本发明的另一实施例,如果终端用户在电视机中利用画中画功能选择同时浏览两个不同的频道,机顶盒220可向本地服务供应商处的内容服务器请求传送两个被选的频道。
根据本发明的一个实施例,相较于现有技术,本发明中传送至特定终端用户的信息量已大为减少。现有技术中的方法将服务供应商提供的所有频道都同时传送给每一终端用户,这样导致浪费带宽,而且传送了没有被请求的不需要的信息。
由于根据本发明的实施例中被传送的多媒体信息量大为减少,则用于执行传送的带宽也相应大为减少。这样,就可利用额外的带宽来提供比现有地用于每一频道的更高品质的频道及多媒体信息。而且,偷窃带宽的情形也会大为减少,即使不能消灭。
一般来讲,有线电视服务供应商会传送每一频道给所有订购的终端用户处,而这些被终端用于订购的频道可通过机顶盒在终端用户处被规整化。由于只传送了终端用户所请求的多媒体信息频道,并采用了认证机制,这样也防止了频道偷窃现象发生,因为根据本发明的实施例,对窃贼而言只有正在传输信息的频道才是有用的,而不是服务供应商的整个服务包。
图3是本发明多媒体分配网络300的模块示意图。图3中所示的多媒体分配网络300包括有本地服务供应商系统310,其包括有至少一个内容服务器320以及一个分配单元330。内容服务器320可通过传输线140从卫星接收器(例如图1中的卫星接收器120)接收多个多媒体传输。
内容服务器320包括有一存储单元,用于接收及存储多媒体传送信息。内容服务器320也可提供即时访问从卫星接收器120所接收到的流媒体信息。内容服务器320可用于验证和授权来自终端用户350的频道请求。
在根据本发明的实施例中,终端用户350可选择一个频道来浏览。终端用户的机顶盒220,如图2所示,可通过线缆366传送频道请示至服务供应商之所在310。该频道请求可为分配单元330所接收,然后传送至内容服务器320。作为选择,该频道请求也可直接为内容服务器320所接收。
图3A所示为本发明多媒体分配及计量系统300A的示意图。图3所示的多媒体分配及计量系统300A包括一本地服务供应商系统310A,该本地服务供应商系统310A包括有至少一内容服务器320A及一分配单元330A。该内容服务器320A通过传输线缆340A从卫星接收器(例如图1中的卫星接收器120)接收多个多媒体传输。
内容服务器320A包括有存储单元,用于接收并存储多媒体传输信息。内容服务器320A也可提供即时访问从卫星接收器120接收到的流媒体传输(频道)。内容服务器320A可用于通过访问用户数据库存储器370A来验证和授权来自多个终端用户350的频道请求。该用户数据库存储器370A包括有终端用户机顶盒信息、终端用户频道订购信息、终端用户消费限制信息以及被锁频道信息等等。
在本发明的一个实施例中,终端用户350,如图3中所示,可选择一频道浏览。终端用户的机顶盒220,如图2中所示,可通过线缆366A向服务供应商处310A发送频道请求。该频道请求可被分配单元330A接收并传送给内容服务器320A。作为选择,该频道请求也可直接为内容服务器320A所接收。
内容服务器320A用于处理频道请求。在内容服务器320A中处理频道请求包括分析及评估该频道请求。分析及评估频道请求包括从频道请求中确定终端用户机顶盒信息,以及与终端用户请求该频道有关的信息等等。
该频道请求可与用户数据库存储器370A作比较,其中如果确认频道已订购,则处理该频道请求。处理该频道请求包括传送所请求的频道多媒体信息至终端用户350的机顶盒220。
如果确认没有订购该频道,内容服务器320A传送一讯息至机顶盒220以通知终端用户该频道请求没有被订购以及被授权浏览。所传送的讯息还可包括提示终端用户订购该频道和/或为浏览该频道支付费用。分配单元330A包括多个传送头,该传送头包括交换器或中继器,用于维持分配单元330A与终端用户处350之机顶盒220之间的持续通信。
维持持续通信还可包括计量及计算终端用户的多媒体使用量。计量可由服务供应商处310A的使用计量器380A执行。使用计量器380A可监视终端用户的频道选择以及浏览信息的时长。被监视的信息存储在使用存储器385A中。这样终端用户的浏览习惯可在后续被评估和分析。
使用计量器380A可与分配单元330A相连,用于监视分配给终端用户350的多媒体信息。使用计量器380A也可与内容服务器320A相连。
在本发明的一个实施例中,还包括有基于计量使用的方法,该方法包括从终端用户处350的机顶盒220接收一个频道请求的步骤。该频道请求可为分配单元330A所接收,也可为内容服务器320A所接收。频道请求信息可使用计量器380A计量并存储于使用存储器385A中。
记录终端用户浏览活动的使用日志创建并存储在使用存储器385A中,其记录有从用户终端的机顶盒接收的频道请求、频道被传输的时长等。日志可创建并存储于使用存储器285A。使用日志中的信息还可与特定频道和次数的节目清单作比较,以确定终端用户的浏览习惯。该浏览习惯可用于确定计划增加或计划删减频道。
图4A是本发明有线多媒体分配网络400A的方块示意图。图4A示出了一种有线多媒体分配网络400A。在该有线多媒体分配网络400A中,根据本发明的一个实施例,每一终端用户450A可与本地服务供应商处的分配单元430A的传送头通过线缆466A有线连接。
图4B是本发明有线多媒体分配网络400B的方块示意图。图4B示出了一种无线多媒体分配网络400B。在该无线多媒体分配网络400B中,根据本发明的一个实施例,每一终端用户450B通过无线传输499B连接至位于本地服务供应商处的分配局端430B的分配单元的传送头。
根据本发明的一个实施例,相较于现有的多媒体分配系统,分配局端430B传送至每一独立的终端用户450B的带宽和多媒体信息量大为减少。在根据本发明的一个实施例中,仅传送了终端用户450B选择的多媒体信息或频道,而没有将多媒体服务供应商提供的所有频道都传送至终端用户450B。需传输的带宽的大为减少使得采用无线传输取代有线传输成为可能。
根据本发明的一个实施例,分配局端430B有一个传输塔470B,用于传输个性化的多媒体信息(即选择的频道)至每一独立的终端用户450B的机顶盒。每一终端用户处450B的机顶盒都具有天线480B。
图5所示为本发明无线机顶盒多媒体单元500的方块图,图中示出了一个根据本发明的一个实施例的无线机顶盒520。该无线机顶盒520包括有用于与无线多媒体分配局端进行通信的天线580。该无线机顶盒520还至少包括处理器561、随机存取内存563、音频/视频解码器565、操作系统567以及组合收发器569。该无线机顶盒520还可包括线缆输出540,用于将接收并解码的多媒体信息传送给电视机或其它的显示设备。
在根据本发明的一个实施例中,终端用户可选择浏览频道。该终端用户的选择可利用一遥控设备远程实现,其中终端用户可输入一频道号以在无线机顶盒520中远程选择频道。无线机顶盒520会响应终端用户的频道选择,确定终端用户是否订购或被授权浏览所选择的频道。如果终端用户没有订购或被授权浏览所选择的频道,则无线机顶盒520会生成一讯息显示于电视机上,以通知终端用户该频道没有被授权浏览。无线机顶盒520也可提示终端用户订购该选择的频道。
在本发明的实施方式中,当从终端用户处接收到一个频道选择请求后,无线机顶盒520可无线传送一频道请求至本地服务供应商处的分配单元。该传送请求可由组合收发器569来实现。在其它实施方式中,接收器和发送器也可以是分开的组件,其中发送器无线传输频道请求至本地服务供应商处的分配单元。
该频道请求在本地服务供应商处被处理。在本发明的实施方式中,该频道请求在分配单元或内容服务器中被验证。如果该频道请求通过验证,内容服务器传送与频道请求相应的多媒体信息。传送被请求的频道也可采用无线方式进行,其中位于局端的无线发送器发送该多媒体信息至无线机顶盒520。

图6所示为本发明评估频道请求方法的流程图600。在步骤610,频道请求被从终端用户机顶盒传送至本地服务供应商。该请求可通过有线或无线方式传输。本地服务供应商局端的内容服务器或分配单元在步骤620接收该频道请求,并在步骤630评估该频道请求,以及在步骤640确定该频道请求是否有效或被授权。当确定该频道请求已被授权,在步骤650,分配单元发送所请求的频道。如果该频道请求没有被授权,在步骤660,分配单元则发送一讯息至终端用户机顶盒以通知该频道请求没有被授权。
图7所示为本发明另一实施方式中评估频道请求方法的流程图700。在步骤710,频道请求为本地服务供应商所接收。为了确定频道请求是否有效和被授权,在步骤720,内容服务器访问用户数据库存储器。在步骤730,内容服务器确定被请求的频道是否被授权。当确定该频道请求有效或已被授权,在步骤740,分配单元发送所请求的频道。如果该频道请求无效或没有被授权,在步骤750,分配单元则发送一讯息以提示终端用户订购该请求的频道,或为浏览该频道付费。
图8所示为本发明记录及监视终端用户所浏览信息的流程图800。在步骤810,本地服务供应商处接收到该频道请求。在步骤820,该频道请求被记录在用户日志中。如果该频道请求被授权,在步骤830,所请求的频道被传送至终端用户机顶盒以供浏览。在步骤840,使用计量器会持续监视频道传输情况,并在步骤850记录频道被传输及浏览的时间的量。
尽管参考特定实施例描述了本发明,本技术领域人员可理解的是,可在不脱离本发明的范围内作各种改变或等价替换。此外,可在不脱离本发明的范围内,可将特定情况或材料应用于本发明的教授来作许多修改。因此,本发明并不限于揭露的特定实施例,而是包括落入附加实施例范围内的所有实施例。
Claims (10)
1、一种多媒体分配网络,其特征在于包括:
内容服务器,用于接收及管理来自至少一个卫星接收器的多个多媒体传输,每一所述多个多媒体传输包括多个多媒体频道;
分配单元,用于从相应的多个终端用户机顶盒接收用于所述多个多媒体频道的特定一个频道的请求。
2、如权利要求1所述的网络,其特征在于:所述分配单元可独立发送所请求的多个多媒体频道。
3、如权利要求1所述的网络,其特征在于:每一终端用户机顶盒可独立请求多媒体频道。
4、如权利要求1所述的网络,其特征在于:所述分配单元可从内容服务器中获得每一所请求的多媒体频道,并将该多媒体频道分别发送至请求该频道的终端用户机顶盒。
5、一种在多媒体分配网络中降低带宽的方法,其特征在于该方法包括如下步骤:
在内容服务器和分配单元中的至少一个从机顶盒接收频道请求;
评估该频道请求以确认该请求是否有效或被授权;
如果该频道请求被确定为有效或被授权,则开始传送被请求的频道;而如果该频道请求被确定为无效或未被授权则返回一讯息以说明该频道请求未被授权。
6、如权利要求5所述的方法,其特征在于:所述多媒体信息供应商与机顶盒之间通过有线或无线通信。
7、如权利要求5所述的方法,其特征在于:进一步包括有接收并存储多媒体频道信息,并提供即时访问所请求的流媒体频道的步骤。
8、一种多媒体分配网络,包括有多个用于请求多媒体频道的终端用户机顶盒,其特征在于该机顶盒包括:
处理器,用于处理及管理频道请求以及接收的多媒体频道信息,所述多媒体频道信息包括被编码的音频信息和视频信息;
用于解码接收到的多媒体频道信息的解码器,所述多媒体频道信息被编码以传输,其中所述解码器包括组合的音频/视频解码单元;
用于传送频道请求至分配单元的发送器;以及
接收器,用于接收多媒体频道信息以及与频道请求有关的讯息,其中该发送器和接收器可包括组合发送/接收单元。
9、一种用于请求多媒体频道并从多媒体分配网络接收多媒体信息的机顶盒,其特征在于该机顶盒包括:
天线,用于与无线多媒体发送局端进行通信;
处理器,用于处理及管理频道请求以及接收的多媒体信息,所述多媒体信息包括音频信息和视频信息;
用于解码音频信息的音频解码器;
用于解码视频信息的视频解码器;
传送器,用于传送频道请求至多媒体分配单元;以及
接收器,用于接收多媒体频道信息以及与频道请求有关的讯息。
10、如权利要求9所述的机顶盒,其特征在于:所述音频解码器和视频解码器包括组合的音频/视频解码单元。
