Abstract

气体燃料车辆和自动排气系统
发明领域
本发明涉及在公路车辆上存储气体的燃料箱,无论车辆以什么为动力,本发明特别但不是唯一地涉及在具有燃料电池的车辆上的气态氢和/或气态氧的存储。
相关的现有技术
在车辆上存储气体的一个问题,是在燃料箱附近发生燃烧时、以及压力上升太高时的危险性。已经提出在液化石油气车辆上使用放气阀,以在过压时使气体逐渐地排出,过压例如是由燃烧导致的不正常加热而形成的,因为无论如何都需要避免爆炸的危险,甚至在供应燃烧的燃料低于有限输出时。因此在现有技术中提出一种安全阀,且只有在过热时才不可逆地打开:公众可以参考例如日本申请JP60/073200,在该文献中说明了这样一种安全阀,其密封元件是一密封一开口的膜,控制最终打开的元件是一带有一针的小片,该小片由形状记忆合金制成,这样在过热时,由形状记忆合金制成的小片改变形状,并推针使其抵靠在膜上直到所述膜发生破裂。
然而没有哪个安装在车辆上的装置足够耐用且在燃烧时单独起到安全作用,在燃烧时起到决定性的安全作用。因此例如没有哪个满意的解决方案可以在燃料供应系统并未构成燃烧的根本原因的情况下,避免使得从燃料箱中泄漏的气体燃料加重燃烧。因此在几部车辆发生事故时,如果这些车辆的其中一部泄漏燃料,例如汽油,随后燃料会蔓延到整个马路,就存在汽油着火的重大危险,且另一部车也会发现其自身无法摆脱其下方的燃烧。在这种情况下,如果其他车辆的气体燃料箱的下面有燃烧,假设该气体燃料箱装有一过压时工作的放气阀,则在这种安全元件起作用之前首先需要等待一段时间直到燃料箱中的压力上升。而且如果燃料箱中剩余燃料较少导致压力较低时,则在这种安全元件起作用之前需要更长的时间,此时构成燃料箱的材料可能已经失去其机械特性达到屈服点,从而在压力升高到放气阀可以动作之前导致爆炸。
如果可以迅速使燃料箱排气,那么就可以改善存储带压气体燃料的车辆的安全状况,特别是具有燃料电池的车辆,该燃料电池以氢为燃料。
在燃料电池车辆领域,专利申请WO 03/035419提出一种通过收集电池周围的泄漏、通过收集燃料箱周围的泄漏、以及通过在所述燃料箱上安装一过压阀来排出没有被电池消耗的氢的方法。其也没有提供用于改善燃烧时的安全性的途径。
发明内容
本发明的一个目的是通过引导流体使其尽可能的远离燃烧的地方,而使安装在各种车辆上的带压燃料箱在燃烧时在尽可能短的时间内自动排气。
本发明提供一种装有一存储带压流体的燃料箱的车辆,所述燃料箱与至少一个排气通道相连,所述排气通道通向至少一放气口,该排气通道通过至少一个安全阀与燃料箱相连,其特征在于该安全阀是一个热释放阀,在正常情况下处于关闭状态且在温度升高时可以自动打开,该安全阀安装在车辆上预定区域中,且放气口远离所述预定区域。
本发明同样提供一种热释放阀,其包括一释放机构,该释放机构使用一由形状记忆合金制成的释放元件,其特征是当其第一次温度上升超过预定温度极限时,其成记忆形状且以热不可逆方式。
下面将说明使用氢燃料箱的两个具体实施例。
第一实施例使用一安全阀,其包括一可被一小片控制的打开机构,该小片由形状记忆材料制成。另一个实施例提供一种可被一机构控制的安全阀,该机构包括一在加热时可破裂的胶囊。在这两种情况下,该两个实施例都具有优点,即当控制车辆整个操作的电动装置失灵时它们也可以起作用。实际上,控制安全阀起作用的元件的工作原理是热力学原理。
例如可以将实际的燃料箱安装在车辆后部。特别的还可以将其安装在底板的中心部分,因为该部位是不容易变形的,甚至在车辆猛烈撞击时也不容易变形。通道的路线布置能够确保带压流体在流出车辆时流经对燃烧特别敏感的区域,并且安全阀安装在这一位置。
例如发现车辆底板存在燃烧的危险,排气通道可以经过底板下方,以在该位置安装一热释放阀,然后使排气通道与放气口相连,放气口远离底板布置,例如布置在车顶上。在下文中将详细说明该实施例。
然而还有许多其他的应用。如果需要保护发动机部件防止其跟着发生爆炸,还可以使通道通向车辆前部,例如燃料电池产生车辆需要的电能的舱室,以在那安装热释放阀,然后使排气通道向上通向远离该舱室布置的放气口,例如排气口位于车辆后部。可以以相同的方式处理多个存在显著危险的区域,例如开始燃烧或随后燃烧的区域,以消灭或减小危险性。例如可以在车辆客舱中使用这种装置。可以对存在危险的任何气体燃料箱进行处理,特别是上面已说明的气体。
最后还可以安装多个平行的排气通道,这些通道都从相同的燃料箱中排出气体,而且都通向相同的放气口,每个通道经过车辆上的一个易发生燃烧爆炸的区域,从而可以在那里安装热释放阀。
下文中将说明本发明的非限制性的实例,其使用特定形式的燃料箱,其在2003年12月8日公开的申请号为EP 03/028056.4的专利申请中说明了。

最优选的实施方案的说明
在图1中可以看出一具有一底板10的客车1,该底板包括至少一个燃料箱2,用于在车辆上存储带压气体。其可以是任何在高压下存储的流体,例如液化石油气、压缩天然气或压缩氢、乃至压缩氧。在下文中假定燃料箱2是存储单一气态流体的燃料箱,例如气态氢,但该假定并非是限定性的。
在图2及下文中,可以看出燃料箱2包括大量的小体积电池20,它们彼此连接。燃料箱包括一基座21,其包括与电池20一样多的凹槽。凹槽都从第一面22朝相对面23延伸。它们都在第一面22放气而不在相对面23放气。每个凹槽都被一帽24密封,除了一处帽可以安装一安全阀来代替。帽24螺纹连接在基座21上,一垫圈24A位于相应的凹槽中。关于燃料箱2的详细信息,读者可以参考前述专利申请EP03/028056.4。
一保护金属片25抵靠在燃料箱2的下表面23上。一排放通道3沿着车辆纵向布置在保护金属片25的下方。这里的排放通道3是一个非常扁平的矩形部件,如图所示。在车辆前侧该排放通道3被一壁31密封。在车辆后侧该排放通道3通向一个或两个装置32,管33就连接在该装置上。排放通道3和管33共同形成排气通道。管33通向排气口34。后者安装在车辆1的垂直后壁11上,且位于靠近车顶12的高度。
排放通道3包括特定数量的第一孔30(参见图2),成形在排放通道3的至少其中一个大表面上。该排放通道3还包括特定数量的第二孔30B,其成形在排放通道的另一个大表面上且与每个孔30都相对。如图1所示例如在五个位置成形第一孔和第二孔30B。第一和第二孔30和30B正好与燃料箱2的五个电池20相对。保护金属片25同样包括五个孔,也正好与燃料箱2的相同五个电池20相对。
安全阀在示出帽24的位置螺纹连接在燃料箱2上,即与上述五个位置相对。排放通道3保持抵靠在保护金属片25上,从而抵靠在燃料箱2上,以确保与安全阀连通和相对于外界密封。在该实例中,使用三个热释放阀5和两个压力极限阀6,在下文中将说明这种类型阀的每个结构。排放通道3使多个电池20的分支平行,且当安装在某个电池20上的一个和多个安全阀打开时,从安全阀或多个阀流出的气态流体汇集在排气通道,并在一个或多个排气口34排出。
现在详细说明热安全阀5。在图2和3中示出了第一实施例的变形。
可以看到一螺纹连接在燃料箱2上的包括一螺杆51的本体50。这个本体50包括一座52,一球53密封该座。安装一弹簧59,其可以产生一适中的预加载荷从而推压球53,使其抵靠在座52上。而且电池20内流体压力升的越高,球53就越牢固地抵靠在座52上,从而确保良好的密封。
在座52的下方有一腔54,该腔与管道55连通,该导管穿透本体50的侧壁。本体50的中心包括一孔,在该孔中安装一套筒56,其用于引导一中心活塞57。在座52的相对侧,本体50包括一轴环58,用于通过螺纹连接容纳一密封件70。该密封件在一侧具有一个中心圆柱形壁73和一圆周环72。在密封件70的内侧封闭一小片7,其由形状记忆合金制成且支撑在一环71上,环71本身抵靠在本体50上。可以看出的是,当本体50螺纹连接在燃料箱2上时,本体50突出于燃料箱2。由于在排放通道3上成形出第一孔30和第二孔30B,以及在保护金属片25上成形出类似的孔,当安装完所述保护金属片和排放通道时,每个本体50的轴环58都保持可以从外侧触及。由于每个密封件70的环72,可以在将密封件70螺纹连接在本体50上的同时压持保护金属片25和排放通道3,所述环压在排放通道3的外壁上。从而排放通道3保持密封在本体50上。
图2和图3表示了一凹陷型密封件70,即,其包括一薄中心圆柱壁73,以使小片7与外界隔绝。这种结构的优点是可以提供机械保护不受外界影响,特别是不会降低小片7的加热速度。然而也可以考虑使用定位件而不是这样的薄中心圆柱壁,定位件可以使小片7直接接触热源(火焰),从而缩短反应时间。
本发明提供的阀可以应用在与上述客车1不同的车辆上。一旦首次温度升高,其就变成常开型阀。其包括一与座连接的球和一弹簧,该弹簧使球抵靠在座上,以在室温时保持阀处于正常关闭状态,还包括一由形状记忆合金制成的小片,其在室温时具有第一形状,一活塞布置在球和小片之间。根据本发明的阀的一个主要特征,由形状记忆合金制成的小片在首次温度升高时呈现记忆形状。由于这个原因,当小片从第一形状变为记忆形状时,活塞推球使其离开座。
已知形状记忆合金在一特定温度区间内从一种晶体结构转变为另一种结构。正是由于这种形状的变化,形状记忆合金获得了它的特性和命名。其结果是任何由形状记忆合金制成的物体都可以具有两个不同形状:一个在低温的形状和一个在高温的形状,在下文中称其为“记忆形状”。变化发生的温度区间根据合金的成分和合金所进行的处理,即通过在特定温度下进行特定机械约束而确定。
有鉴于此,小片7由例如NiTi形状记忆合金制成。这种合金在冷却时改变晶体结构,即从奥氏体的硬状态(高温)转变为马氏体的易变形状态(低温)。所选择的小片7的转变温度大约是90℃(+或-5℃误差)。本领域技术人员已知具有所需特性的材料;例如在纽约新哈特福德特种金属公司(Special Metals Corporation,New Hartford,NY)可以获得。小片的起始形状是球形帽(与图3所示结构相似)。室温时小片是马氏体状态(软)。其可以很容易发生机械变形,以呈现一近似扁平形(图2所示的盘形)。当小片温度达到90℃时,其改变状态,从马氏体状态转变为奥氏体状态(硬)。因此恢复其球形帽的起始形状(记忆形状)。这个形状在回到室温时仍保持不变。这意味着所选择的材料的形状不可逆而结构可逆,这是因为其从奥氏体状态(硬)转变为马氏体状态(软)。唯一能使其恢复到盘式形状的是外界机械力。
优选地,在室温时的正常关闭位置,在小片7、中心活塞57和球53之间具有少量间隙,从而后者保持牢固地抵靠在座52上。在图2中可以看到室温时小片7的形状。
在图3中可以看到在温度升高后同一小片7的形状(记忆形状)。变形程度根据小片7本身的尺寸确定。对于如上所述成形的小片,当小片的温度达到75℃时开始变形。一旦装配间隙形成,小片7就施加较大的力。一旦球升高足够距离后,小片施加的力就会减小,但仍能足够克服弹簧施加的力。在图3所示的最大变形是在小片7的温度达到100℃时发生的。而且已经证明这种小片7可以施加足够大的力,可以在与内压和弹簧保持力相反的方向上推活塞57,该内压是在电池侧施加在球上,电池包含升高压力(200-300bar)的流体。
如已经说明的,在热应力后冷却小片7,如果想要再次获得其起始形状,例如以使热释放安全阀5恢复正常,则需要通过机械方式使其变形。由于足够的热使小片7变为记忆形状且该形状不会再变的事实,阀5以特定方式打开,并且甚至在加热减小或停止时也保持打开状态。
已经说明了热释放阀5包括一由形状记忆合金制成的小片7。这是使用由形状记忆合金制成的释放部件的释放机构的优选实施例,所述形状记忆合金具有这种特征,使得当其首次温度升高超过预定温度界线时,其会变为记忆形状,且以热不可逆方式。
当然特定数量的密封件用于确保装配的良好密封,如图中可以清楚地看出,不需要过多说明。在本体50侧壁上的管道55直接与排放通道3连通,这样在热释放安全阀5打开时,气体就流进腔54中然后通过贯穿本体50侧壁的管道55汇集在排放通道3,不会在热释放安全阀5的高度上从排放通道3流到外界。
当然可以增加其他类型的阀,例如一压力界线阀6,如图5所示。后者使用与热释放阀5相同的本体50。在燃料箱一侧本体50容纳一插入件63,该插入件在其中心630包括一标准的可破裂膜。该插入件63是可更换的。腔54被一帽67封闭。本体50容纳一螺母、一与图1和2所示相同的凹陷型密封件70。
从而,在本发明的一个特别有利的实施方式中,车辆的燃料箱包括一互连的电池组,以确保车辆所需的流体的循环,至少两个电池在排气通道有分支,每个电池都通过至少一个安全阀连接到排气通道,其中一个安全阀是所述的热释放阀,另一个安全阀是一压力界线阀,其在超出预定压力界线时自动打开(不可逆的打开,例如通过损坏一覆盖件而打开)。
在图4中表示了热释放阀8的一变形实施例,其中该释放机构使用一在热效应下可破坏的胶囊(在图1中没有使用)。可以看到一包括螺纹81的本体80,其与燃料箱2螺纹连接。这个本体80包括一第一孔82,其被一中心活塞83密封,该中心活塞具有一头88和一活塞裙880,活塞裙限定了一中心中空区域,其在一侧打开,在另一侧被头88封闭。本体包括一中心通道86,其限定了一第二孔84,该第二孔的直径稍微大于第一孔82的直径。中心活塞83在第二孔84中被导向。中心通道86的内部与一个或多个管道85连通,该管道贯穿通道86的外壁。通道86被一密封件87封闭。一胶囊89设置在密封件87和一支撑垫圈90之间,支撑垫圈抵靠在活塞83的头88上。该胶囊89在预定温度时破裂。例如可以在JOB GmbH,Kurt-Fischer-Strasse30,D-22926Ahrensburg发现这种在90℃破裂的胶囊。
本体80还包括一第三孔91,一套筒92安装在该第三孔中,该套筒绕着通道86限定了一近似环形空间。这个空间与排放通道3相通。当胶囊89破裂时,电池20中的流体的压力作用在中心活塞83上,没有什么可以防止活塞83朝向密封件87缩回,从而使电池20与通道86的内部、管道或管道85、绕着通道的近似环形空间、最后与排放通道3相连。
各种垫圈用于确保装配的良好密封,如图所示,不需要过多说明。除了中心释放机构,图4所示的阀类似于图2和3所示的阀,它们在任何情况下的使用是相同的。

Claims (12)

1.装有存储带压流体的燃料箱(2)的车辆(1),所述燃料箱与至少一个排气通道(3和33)相连,所述排气通道通向放气口(34),该排气通道通过至少一个安全阀与燃料箱相连,其特征在于:该安全阀是热释放阀(5或8),在正常情况下处于关闭状态且在温度升高时可以自动打开,该安全阀安装在车辆上预定区域中,且放气口远离所述预定区域。
2.根据权利要求1的车辆,其特征在于:该热释放阀(5)与燃料箱(2)相邻。
3.根据权利要求1或2的车辆,其特征在于:该放气口(34)位于车辆上尽可能远离热释放阀(5)的区域。
4.根据权利要求1到3中任一个的车辆,其特征在于:热释放阀包括释放机构,该释放机构使用由形状记忆合金制成的释放元件,该释放元件的特征是当其温度上升首次超过预定温度极限时,其转变成记忆形状且该转变以热不可逆方式进行。
5.根据权利要求4的车辆,其特征在于:热释放阀(5)包括一球(53),其与一座(52)和一弹簧(59)共同作用,该弹簧使球抵靠在该球的座上,其中该释放机构包括一由形状记忆合金制成的小片(7),其在室温时具有第一形状,一活塞(57)布置在球(53)和小片(7)之间,在其温度首次升高时,由形状记忆合金制成的小片转变成与第一形状不同的记忆形状,当小片从第一形状转变为记忆形状时,活塞推动球使其离开该球的座。
6.根据权利要求1到3中任一个的车辆,其特征在于:热释放阀(8)包括一种释放机构,该释放机构使用在热效应下可破裂的胶囊(89)。
7.根据权利要求1到6中任一个的车辆,其特征在于:燃料箱包括一互连的电池组(20),以确保车辆所需的流体的循环。
8.根据权利要求7的车辆,其特征在于:至少两个电池(20)在所述排气通道有分支,每个电池都通过至少两个安全阀连接到排气通道,其中一个安全阀是所述的热释放阀(5或8),另一个安全阀是一压力界线阀(6),其在超出预定压力界线时自动打开。
9.根据权利要求1到8中任一个的车辆,其特征在于:包括一底板,其中热释放阀安装在底板下方,且放气口通向车辆与底板相对的表面。
10.根据权利要求1到9中任一个的车辆,包括一燃料电池,所述燃料箱存储气态氢。
11.一种阀,该阀一旦温度首次升高后就永久打开,该阀包括释放机构,该释放机构使用由形状记忆合金制成的释放元件,形状记忆合金的特征是在室温时具有第一形状,当其温度上升首次超过预定温度极限时,其转变成与第一形状不同的记忆形状且该转变以热不可逆方式进行。
12.根据权利要求11的阀,包括球(53),其与座(52)和弹簧(59)共同作用,该弹簧使球抵靠在该球的座上以使阀在室温时处于正常关闭状态,并且其中该释放元件主要是由形状记忆合金制成的小片(7),该释放机构还包括活塞(57),其布置在球和小片之间,当小片从第一形状转变为记忆形状时,活塞在由形状记忆合金制成的小片的推力下推动球使其离开该球的座。
