Description
技术领域
本申请要求享有于2002年12月18日和2002年12月26日向韩国知识产权部提交的韩国专利申请No.2002-81071和No.2002-84073,这些专利的公开内容通过引用整体地结合于本文中。
本发明涉及一种蓄电池,更具体地涉及一种与引线板相连的保险装置的可靠性得到提高的蓄电池。
背景技术
可再充电并能制成较小且具有较大容量的蓄电池的代表性示例包括镍-氢(Ni-MH)电池、锂电池和锂离子电池。
通过将由正电极板、负电极板和隔板构成的电极组件放入到由铝或铝合金制成的电池盒(壳)中,在壳体中注入电解质并且密封该壳体,就可制造出这种蓄电池。壳体由比其它导电金属如铁更轻的铝或铝合金制成,它们有利于制造轻重量的电池,并且能够耐腐蚀,即使在高电压条件下使用了一段较长时间也是如此。蓄电池包括形成于壳体顶部处的电极端子,使得该电极端子与壳体绝缘。该电极端子形成了电池的正电极或负电极。当电极端子形成正电极时电池壳体形成为电池的负电极,而当电极端子形成负电极时电池壳体形成为正电极。
密封于壳体内的蓄电池与保险装置如正温度系数(PTC)元件相连,然后再放入到电池组中,PTC元件例如为正热敏电阻、热熔丝、保护性电路组件(PCM)等。这种保险装置连接在正电极和负电极之间,当电池温度升高到过高或当电池电压因过度充电/过度放电而突然升高时,该保险装置可切断电流,从而防止电池被击穿。
保险装置通过引线板而连接在电池的正电极和负电极之间。引线板由镍、镍合金或镀镍不锈钢制成,并具有预定的硬度和导电率。
美国专利No.5976729公开了一种可提高保护性电路的可靠性的电池。在此专利中,将由镍制成的引线板通过激光照射而初始地焊接到铝壳体的外底面上。将另一引线板电阻焊接到所述由镍制成且与保险装置如PCM相连的引线板上,因此就可防止保险装置受到激光照射。
然而,铝壳体非常薄,因此,必须小心地控制在将引线板焊接到壳体底面上时所施加的激光束的强度,以便防止电解质泄漏。另外,将两块引线板顺序地连接到电池底面上降低了工作效率。
发明内容
本发明提供了一种具有引线板的蓄电池,引线板通过压制而不是焊接来连接到盖板或壳体的外底面上,其中保险装置以提高的可靠性连接在引线板上,并且不会发生因激光焊接所引起的电解质溶液的泄漏。根据本发明的蓄电池可通过简化的较少的工艺步骤来制造。
根据本发明的一个方面,提供了一种蓄电池,包括:具有正电极板、负电极板以及处于正电极板和负电极板之间的隔板的电极组件;由导电的金属材料制成的壳体,其容纳了电极组件和电解质溶液,并且具有侧开口;包括盖板和电极端子的封盖组件,盖板连接在壳体的侧开口上,并且在其侧部具有至少一个开口,电极端子通过使电极端子和盖板绝缘的垫圈而连接在盖板上,并且与分别从正电极板和负电极板上引出的正电极接片和负电极接片中的一个相连;以及引线板,其通过压制安装在盖板的所述至少一个开口内,并且与保险装置相连。

具体实施方式
在图1中显示了根据本发明的一个实施例的蓄电池。参见图1,根据本发明的一个实施例的蓄电池100包括具有侧开口110a和电极组件120的壳体110,电极组件通过侧开口110a插入到壳体110中。
电极组件120包括正电极板、负电极板以及处于正电极板和负电极板之间的隔板。电极组件120可以是果冻卷型,其通过滚卷正电极板、隔板和负电极板的叠层来形成,如图1所示。
正电极板包括正电极集电器,其为金属箔条。正电极集电器可由铝箔形成。正电极集电器的至少一个表面包括正电极涂覆部分,其涂覆了含有正电极活性材料的正电极组合物。正电极活性材料可以是氧化锂。正电极组合物还可包括粘合剂、增塑剂、导电剂等。
负电极板包括负电极集电器,其为金属箔条。负电极集电器可由铜箔形成。负电极集电器的至少一个表面包括负电极涂覆部分,其涂覆了含有负电极活性材料的负电极组合物。负电极活性材料可以是含碳材料。负电极组合物还可包括粘合剂、增塑剂、导电剂等。
与各自的负电极板和正电极板相连的负电极接片121和正电极接片122从电极组件120中引出。负电极接片121和正电极接片122通过焊接分别固定在负电极板和正电极板上。负电极接片121可由镍薄膜形成。正电极接片122可由铝薄膜形成。然而,负电极接片121和正电极接片122的材料的例子并不限于这些材料。与图1所示不同,负电极接片121和正电极接片122的位置可以交换。
壳体110由大致矩形形式的金属材料制成。因此,壳体110本身可用作端子。壳体110可由轻重量的导电金属如铝或铝合金制成。壳体110具有侧开口110a,其允许将电极组件120插入到壳体110中。壳体110可具有如图1所示的成角度的边缘。然而,壳体110也可具有倒圆的边缘或任何其它形状的边缘。
壳体110的侧开口110a被封盖组件130所密封。封盖组件130包括直接焊接到侧开口110a的周边上的盖板131。壳体110和盖板131可由相同的金属材料制成以方便焊接。换句话说,盖板131可由铝或铝合金制成。
销形电极端子132通过垫圈133安装到封盖组件130的盖板131中,电极端子132通过垫圈133而与盖板131绝缘。可在盖板131的底面上与电极端子132相对应地放置绝缘板134和端子板(未示出),从而使电极端子132与盖板131绝缘。电极端子132可用作负电极端子,这是通过将其焊接到从负电极板上延伸出来的负电极接片121上来实现的。从正电极板上延伸出来的正电极接片122与盖板131的底面或壳体110的内侧面直接电连接,使得蓄电池100的外表面上除电极端子132之外的部分用作正电极端子。然而,正电极端子和负电极端子的结构并不限于上述。例如,正电极端子可与负电极端子一样形成为单独的电极端子。正电极端子和负电极端子可具有其它不同的结构。
在将电极组件120插入到壳体110中之后,将由绝缘材料制成的保护罩135插入到电极组件120和封盖组件130之间,以便更紧密地支撑电极组件120。
在将封盖组件130焊接到壳体110的侧开口110a的周边上之后,经由形成于盖板131中的电解质注入孔136来注入电解质溶液,并用塞子137将电解质注入孔136塞住。
作为根据本发明的蓄电池100的一个特征,引线板140安装在盖板131的一个侧部。特别是,如图2所示,在盖板131的侧部中形成了至少一个开口131a。将大小与开口131a相对应的引线板140插入到开口131a中。可在模制盖板131的同时形成开口131a。
引线板140可由镍形成,其导电率比由铝或铝合金制成的盖板131更低。
在将引线板140插入到形成于盖板131的侧部上的开口131a中之后,通过采用常用的压制装置如压辊将引线板140压在盖板131上,使得引线板140可紧密地连接在盖板131中。
如图1所示,连接到盖板131上的引线板140与保险装置141相连,保险装置141例如为保护性电路组件(PCM)或正温度系数(PTC)元件。端子件142从保险装置141中引出。端子件142可由与引线板140相同的材料如镍制成。端子件142例如可通过电阻焊接而连接到引线板140上。
如上所述,开口131a形成于盖板131的侧部,引线板140通过压制安装到开口131a中。换句话说,根据本发明,引线板140通过简单的压制而不是焊接来连接到盖板131上,使得不存在关于电解质溶液泄漏的问题,因而提高了生产率。
由于引线板140位于盖板131中,因此引线板140到电极端子132的距离缩短,抑制了电阻的增大并提高了电池的性能。另外,通过上述结构可制出更紧凑的电池。
图4是根据本发明另一实施例的蓄电池的分解透视图。与图3中所示相同的元件由相同的标号来表示,因此在这里未提供关于它们的详细介绍。
参见图4,与根据引线板140处于盖板131侧部中的本发明上述实施例的蓄电池100不同,图4所示的蓄电池200具有这样的特征,即引线板240连接在壳体210的外底面而不是盖板231上。
特别是,在壳体210的外底面上形成了至少一个凹槽212。凹槽212可在通过深拉拔从铝或铝合金板中模制壳体210的同时使用形成在砧座上的预定突起来形成,砧座支撑了铝或铝合金板。
接着将引线板240插入到凹槽212中。引线板240具有与凹槽212相对应的尺寸。引线板240可由镍制成,其具有比由铝或铝合金制成的壳体210更小的导电率。
在将引线板240插入到形成于壳体210的外底面上的凹槽212中之后,通过采用常用的压制装置如压辊将引线板240和壳体210的外底面压在一起,使得引线板240可紧密地连接到凹槽212上,并与壳体210的外底面平齐,如图6和7所示。
将保险装置241如PCM或PTC元件连接到已安装在壳体210的外底面中的引线板240上。端子件242从保险装置241中引出。端子件242可由与引线板240相同的材料如镍制成。端子件242例如可通过电阻焊接而连接到引线板240上。
如上所述,凹槽212形成于壳体210的外底面上,引线板240通过压制而安装到凹槽212中。换句话说,根据本发明,引线板240通过简单的压制而不是焊接来连接到壳体210上。因此,电解质溶液不会从壳体210中泄漏出,因而提高了生产率。
如上所述的根据本发明的蓄电池提供了下述效果。
首先,引线板通过压制而不是焊接来连接到盖板或壳体的外底面上,因此不存在因传统激光焊接工艺所导致的电解质泄漏的问题。因焊接缺陷而引起的蓄电池的失效速率下降,保险装置不会受到激光照射的影响,并具有提高的可靠性。
其次,在引线板连接到盖板的侧部中时,从引线板140到电极端子132的距离缩短,抑制了电阻的增大并提高了电池的性能。另外,通过这种结构可制出具有更大设计余量的更紧凑的电池。
第三,在引线板通过压制安装到形成于壳体外底面上的凹槽中时,更容易将引线板与保险装置相连,从而提高了生产率。另外,通过这种结构可制出具有更大设计余量的蓄电池。
虽然已经参考代表性实施例来具体地显示和介绍了本发明,然而本领域的普通技术人员可以理解,在不脱离由所附权利要求限定的本发明的精神和范围的前提下,可以对本发明的形式和细节进行各种变化。
Claims (12)
1.一种蓄电池,包括:
具有正电极板、负电极板以及处于所述正电极板和负电极板之间的隔板的电极组件;
由导电的金属材料制成的壳体,其容纳了所述电极组件和电解质溶液,并具有侧开口;
包括盖板和电极端子的封盖组件,所述盖板连接在所述壳体的侧开口上,并且在其侧部具有至少一个开口,所述电极端子通过使所述电极端子和所述盖板绝缘的垫圈而连接在所述盖板上,并且与分别从所述正电极板和负电极板上引出的正电极接片和负电极接片中的一个相连;和
引线板,其通过压制安装在所述盖板的所述至少一个开口内,并且与保险装置相连。
2.根据权利要求1所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述盖板由铝和铝合金中的一种制成。
3.根据权利要求1所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述引线板由镍制成。
4.根据权利要求1所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述引线板与所述保险装置通过端子件相连,所述端子件通过电阻焊接而连接到所述引线板上。
5.根据权利要求4所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述端子件由镍制成。
6.根据权利要求1所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述蓄电池还包括处于所述电极组件和封盖组件之间的保护罩。
7.一种蓄电池,包括:
具有正电极板、负电极板以及处于所述正电极板和负电极板之间的隔板的电极组件;
由导电的金属材料制成的壳体,其容纳了所述电极组件和电解质溶液,并具有处于其外底面上的至少一个凹槽,以及侧开口;
与所述壳体的侧开口相连的封盖组件;和
引线板,其通过压制安装在形成于所述壳体外底面上的所述至少一个凹槽内,并且与保险装置相连。
8.根据权利要求7所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述盖板由铝和铝合金中的一种制成。
9.根据权利要求7所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述引线板由镍制成。
10.根据权利要求7所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述引线板与所述保险装置通过端子件相连,所述端子件通过电阻焊接而连接到所述引线板上。
11.根据权利要求10所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述端子件由镍制成。
12.根据权利要求7所述的蓄电池,其特征在于,所述封盖组件包括:
与所述壳体的侧开口相连的盖板;和
通过使所述电极端子和所述盖板绝缘的垫圈而连接在所述盖板上的电极端子,所述电极端子与分别从所述正电极板和负电极板上引出的正电极接片和负电极接片中的一个相连。
