Description

为GUI提供显示的方法
技术领域
本发明涉及一种为图形用户接口(GUI)提供显示的方法,和涉及用于该方法的计算机程序、计算机可读存储介质和装置。特别地,本发明涉及为这样的GUI提供显示,在所述GUI中指针被显示在显示器上,其位置对应于用户手在一个无触摸输入设备的传感区域的平面中的位置。
背景技术
无触摸输入设备是众所周知的。例如美国专利申请2002/0000977A1公开了一种三维交互显示系统,包括在屏幕表面上的透明保护层上形成的透明“宽视照相机”它可以检测进入该屏幕表面附近的探针或手指这样的物体。特别地,图11A和11B是表示实现在字处理程序中一个基本光标移动的步骤的流程图,而说明书的相应段落0057到0059公开了探针或手指的侧向移动引起光标亦即指针实时跟随该探针,对手指或探针所跨越的字、图片和等式加亮显示。光标的存在,相应于探针或手指的存在,由开始时高能闪烁显示的光标指示。
美国专利6025726公开了电容检测的一种替换方案,其中使用电场传感来提供无触摸传感区域。
发明内容
根据本发明,提供一种为前述类型的GUI提供显示的方法,进一步包括在显示器上显示在用户的手和位于传感区域之内或邻近传感区域的参考点之间、或者在与一个参考平面之间的距离的指示的步骤,所述参考平面与第一平面平行并位于通过或者邻近所述传感区域;和/或在显示器上显示用户手为操作该指针所做的一个合适的姿势的指示。
在前一情况下,本方法可以另外包括响应用户的手离开所述参考预定距离而清除指示的步骤,所述预定距离例如相应于传感区域的边界,超过该边界的话无触摸输入设备不能检测用户的手的运动,因此不能操作指针。另外,指示可以是具有与在用户的手与所述参考之间的距离成比例大小的图形。
无论在哪种情况,所述指示都可以是位于围绕或者邻近所述指针的图形,并且可随指针随意移动。
本发明人意识到无触摸输入设备可以跟踪用户手的位置的灵敏度依赖于用户手离开传感区域的最灵敏部分的距离和用户采取的姿势,亦即手的形状而变化。本发明人还意识到,如果用户采取一个不合适的姿势,诸如指向屏幕,则该用户可能期望指针在用户手指指尖,而因为传感技术的实际限制诸如在决定涉及用户手的定向、大小和姿势时的不明确性,可能实现不了上述情况,同时用户也可能感觉到上述操作的不正确性。通过在显示器上提供用户手和位于传感区域之内或邻近的参考之间的距离的指示,其与在美国专利申请2002/0000977A1中仅仪存在的相反,给用户提供任何给定手位置的灵敏度的指示。相似地,通过在显示器上提供用户手为操作指针的一个合适的姿势的指示,用户减少了采取不合适姿势的可能性。

具体实施方式
图1是计算机10的透视图,其根据本发明配置成为常规平板显示器11产生一个屏幕显示,该平板显示器11具有所述计算机10连接到其上的整体无触摸输入设备。该无触摸输入设备包括4个传感器12a、12b、12c、12d,每一个位于显示器面板的4个角中的一个角上,并在显示器前面提供一个传感区域。用户可以通过在跨越该传感区域的平面上平行于显示器移动手而操作在显示器上显示的指针13。该指针表示为一个箭头,但是当然也可以使用适合于在显示器上指示一个点的任何其它图形。
无触摸输入设备测量用户手的位置的准确度将依赖于用户手离开传感区域的最优部分以及用户采取的姿势即手的形状变化而变化。
根据本发明并参考图2,手形15的图像被显示在指针13的邻近区域来提示用户操作指针的最优姿势。这促使用户以一种特别的方式保持他们的手形,从而增强无触摸输入设备可以测量用户手的位置的精确度。于形15的图像随指针移动,以便连续地帮助用户操作指针。
另外根据本发明,并且在图3中示出,手形的图像的大小与用户手和显示器之间的距离成比例改变。
随着用户的手从显示器进一步移开,手的图像被放大,如图3所示,以提示用户手位置和指针位置之间的不准确的相互关系正在加大。这使得当需要与指针准确的因此是可预测的交互时,促使用户保持他们的手接近屏幕。反之,当需要快速而较低精确度的交互时,用户会发现保持他们的手离屏幕远一些是比较合适的。
作为手形的图像的一种替代方案,可以使用任何其他适合的图形,这种图像或图形不需随指针移动。例如,位于显示器角上的一个简单的可变大小的圆圈可以提供用户手离开显示器的距离的指示。
作为响应用户手进一步从显示器移动,改变手形图像大小的一种替代方案,该图像可以替代地随着手和显示器之间距离的分开而减弱亮度,当达到一个临界距离时,图像甚至完全消失。另外,无触摸输入设备不需与显示器为一体,而可以离开显示器,例如在邻近计算机的水平表面上,或许能给用户带来如同控制虚拟鼠标一样的感觉。
用户可以通过把指针置于一点并且在一段预定的时间内保持他们的手静止,或者替代地通过快速点击显示器来选择屏幕上的一点。
图4表示显示器11的顶部边缘的示意图。表示出在两个传感器12a和12b之间的传感区域的一个例线。如果使用电场传感技术来测量用户手在传感区域中的位置的话则这种线可能存在。甚至在场的这种简化的2维表示中,也可以看到,靠近显示器的线41基本是直线(当在3维中考虑时是平面),并且距离均匀。这一区域提供比进一步离开显示器的区域更精确的位置检测。离开距离越远,线42就越不直,且具有不太规律的间隔。这降低了用户手位置的精确度的测定。由此可以看出,当需要精确操作指针时,用户最好把他们的手保持在较靠近显示器的位置。
在这样的计算机系统中实现根据本发明的方法,可以很容易用硬件、软件(既可以在计算机上或者存储在存储介质上)通过计算机编程和配置或者通过这两者的组合进行。当然,这种编程和配置是众所周知的,并且可由本领域的技术人员实现,而不会带来过度的负担。本领域的技术人员进一步理解,本发明的教义同样适用于具有无触摸输入设备的其他类型的装置,而不仅仅适用于上述计算机系统。

Claims (7)

1.一种为GUI提供显示的方法,包括步骤:
-在显示器上的一个位置显示一个指针,所述位置对应于用户手在一个无触摸输入设备的一个传感区域的第一平面中的位置;和
-除所述指针之外,在显示器上显示一个图形,所述图形提供了在用户手和位于传感区域之内或邻近传感区域的参考点之间、或者在与一个参考平面之间的距离的指示,所述参考平面与第一平面平行并位于通过或者邻近所述传感区域。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,进一步包括清除所述图形,以响应用户手已经超出预定的参考距离。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的方法,其中,所述图形的大小与在用户手和参考之间的距离成比例。
4.根据权利要求1或2所述的方法,其中,显示器与无触摸输入设备为一体。
5.根据权利要求1或2所述的方法,其中,所述图形在指针周围,或者与指针邻近。
6.根据权利要求5所述的方法,其中,所述图形随指针移动。
7.根据权利要求1或者2所述的方法,进一步包括当用户的手在预定时间段保持静止时选择显示器上的一点的步骤。
