控制纸类产品亮度的方法
本发明涉及一种使用对样校色染料(shading dye)时控制纸类产品亮度的方法。
在造纸工业中,亮度是用于描述在特定波长下纸或纸浆反射系数的技术术语,如TAPPI亮度,ISO亮度等。
关于纸样品的亮度、白度和颜色有几种定义。
a)CIE白度和CIE色度
CIE白度和CIE色度可以由色度坐标和色坐标计算得到。CIE白度给出包括OBA和对样校色染料元素的样品白度印象。色度值用于描述白色的具体色光。其给出与人眼睛相当密切的相关性,毫无疑问是可用来测量白度的最佳方法。另外,由于两种白色可能具有相同的白度不同色光,色度也是有用的。在ISO11475中CIE白度和色度定义为:
                   CIE白度W10=Y10+800(xn.10-x10)+1700(yn.10-y10)
               CIE色度T=900(xn.10-x10)-650(yn.10-y10)
b)CIELAB L*,a*,b*值
CIELAB L*,a*,b*值用于描述色空间,其为描述颜色的三维系统的三个坐标轴。L*代表明度,a*为红绿对立坐标,b*为黄蓝对立坐标。对于描述和控制白纸的对样校色染料效果特别有用。另一种相似系统是L,C,H。其中C和H代表彩度和色相角。当a*和b*用于描述和控制色光非常有用时,对于对样校色染料则不再考虑L*值。当对样校色染料增加时,L*值减少。应该注意OBA也影响a*值,特别是影响b*值。

注意到,在现代的造纸工业中,加入对样校色染料不仅为了获得增白效果,而且也为了对颜色的控制。通常情况下对颜色的控制是通过使用a*和b*的目标值实现的。这可以通过手工地、在线或通过在线闭路颜色控制做到。紫色和微红蓝染料用于改进白度,使用其它颜色来控制白纸的色光,例如红色、蓝色和黄色。也很少量地使用黑色以控制白纸的不透明度。
c)亮度
亮度是用在造纸和纸浆工业中的术语,它是指反射系数因子,通常大约为460nm。虽然也有其他的定义(如Scandinavian Pulp,Paper& Board测试委员会SCAN-测试C11:75&TAPPI标准测试方法T452),但是在ISO2470和3688中已作了定义。当向白纸中加入少量的对样校色染料时,根据所用的染料及其浓度不同,可以或大或小地降低亮度。这是因为染料吸收光线导致反射变小。光学增白剂由于具有荧光而增加亮度值,就会增加亮度。
光学增白剂是从无色到有微弱颜色的有机化合物,其在溶液中或应用于底物时吸收紫外光(如来自波长为约300-430nm的太阳光)并以约400-500nm蓝色荧光重新释放吸收的大部分能量。
在日光中,光学增白剂能够这样补偿白色工业底物中美学上不希望的微黄色调,如纺织品、纸或塑料。另外,由于太阳光谱中不能通过肉眼辨别的部分光能够转化为可见光,则物体的亮度被增强而发出耀眼的白光。
补偿微黄色调的第一种方法是使用蓝色染料,如群青或靛青。加蓝能够减小样品对可见光谱中长波部分光的反射系数。因此,样品呈现中性白色外表,更能吸引视觉感官。
光学增白剂主要通过吸收UV和近可见光而降低其反射系数;在可见光波长(主要是最大为435~440nm的光)范围中,其通过荧光大大增强了亮度。光学增白剂成为补充发射源。光学增白剂越有效,底物则更白,更干净。
在典型的白纸制造方法中,许多颜色参数被控制,在应用中其包括:
CIE白度
ISO亮度
CIELAB a*值
CIELAB b*值
CIELAB L*值
荧光(通常通过在发光状态下测量具有UV组分时的亮度或白度,减去没有UV组分时的测量值而获得)
对于纸制造者而言,面临的问题是用于控制这些参数的两类组分是:
a)一种或多种对样校色染料
b)一种或多种OBA’s
(对样校色染料一般在加在湿部或涂料中,很少在上胶压缩时加入。OBA’s是加在湿部、上胶压缩和涂料中。)这些组分对每一种测量值都有影响,有时候调节需要参数的所需加入比对其他参数有负面影响,此时就必须要对其进行修正,如:
微红紫色对样校色染料(例如,C.I.直接紫51,C.I.直接蓝267)或颜料(如C.I.颜料紫23):用于调节a*值和b*值,对于亮度有负面影响而对于白度有正面影响,对荧光没有影响。
微蓝/中性紫色对样校色染料(如C.I.直接紫35)或颜料(如C.I.颜料蓝15,C.I.颜料紫3):用于调节b*值,对于亮度有负面影响而对于白度有正面影响,对a*值有细微的或没有影响,对荧光没有影响。
红色对样校色染料(如C.I.直接红253):用于调节a*值,对亮度有负面影响而对于白度没有影响,对b*值有细微的或没有影响,对荧光没有影响。
OBA(如C.I.荧光增白剂220,C.I.荧光增白剂28,C.I.荧光增白剂264):用于增加荧光和白度以及亮度,也影响a*和b*值。
就涉及紫色、红色或蓝色对样校色染料和一种OBA在湿部加入而另一种OBA可能在上胶压缩加入的高白纸生产而言,为获得合适的工艺控制目标参数而确定调节添加的过程,看起来是非常复杂的,尤其是必须考虑对样校色染料或OBA的增加或减少时更是如此。当任何对样校色染料剂量增加而亮度下降时,造纸者必须通过加入更多的OBA进行补偿,以获得亮度目标值,而当对样校色染料剂减少时则作相应地调整。为获得所有的目标参数,经常必须一起调节各组分。
当使用对样校色染料时亮度*降低的问题是众所周知的问题。
目前在本领域中,是通过加入附加的光学增白剂来解决这个问题。直到现在,处理它的一种典型的工艺是:
-首先加入含有染料的溶液,随后加入含光学增白剂的溶液。
在白纸染色方法中颜色的控制是很难达成的。由于增加对样校色染料的加入量会导致亮度下降,那么如果增加对样校色染料的浓度来获得精确的颜色,则不得不增加OBA的浓度以获得正确的亮度。这种复杂而又精细的工序就不得不通过人工或闭路颜色控制来完成。
本发明的一个目标就是,提供一种在使用对样校色染料的同时控制纸产品亮度的更容易的方法,其通过采用一步工序来进行,既节省时间,又降低染料和OBA的必要数量。
提供一种白纸对样校色的方法,其特征在于,使用含有至少一种直接染料或颜料和至少一种光学增白剂的混合物。
本发明的特征优选在于,该混合物含有的一种或多种直接染料与一种或多种光学增白剂的重量百分比为25/75~90/10,优选50/50。
另外,本发明的一部分是增加纸用对样校色染料的荧光的混合物,其含有的一种或多种直接染料与一种或多种光学增白剂的重量百分比为25/75~90/10。
本发明的OBA’s是湿部OBA’s,上胶压缩OBA’s和/或涂层OBA’s。
OBA’s优选是C.I.荧光增白剂220,C.I.荧光增白剂28和/或C.I.荧光增白剂264。
本发明方法所获得的纸也是本发明的一部分。
使用本方法时,能够调节对样校色染料剂量而不会影响亮度值,并只需对对样校色染料做一次调节,而不必再调节光学增白剂剂量以恢复亮度。
对于本发明,能够使用所有的已知纸用OBA’s。优选的光学增白剂是湿部用OBA’s(LeucophorAP,AL,U等),上胶压缩用OBA’s(LeucophorU,NS,SHR,TC等),涂料用OBA’s(LeucophorU,AP,AL,NS,SHR,TC等)。Leucophor是Clariant的注册商标名。
OBA’s是以混合物的形式加入对样校色染料中,以至于当加入纸中时,OBA的荧光补偿了由于染料的吸收造成的亮度损失,因此对样校色染料的加入并不引起纸亮度的下降。因此控制方法更为简单,为达到目标颜色仅仅只需调节一种组分且不降低亮度,因而无需OBA的补偿调节。
由于OBA和对样校色染料混合物对色坐标(a*,b*)的影响比单独使用染料更大,减少了所用对样校色染料的量是其另一种好处。
颜料(如C.I.颜料紫色23,C.I.颜料蓝15,C.I.颜料紫色3)也用于白纸的对样校色(如在涂层中)
对样校色染料和OBA’s既用于上胶压缩和涂层中,也用于湿部应用中。
下面用实施例举例说明本发明。
实施例1
含有50%漂白软木纸浆和50%漂泊纸浆的纸原料是在20℃的Schopper Riegler中标准制备,加入了20%的CaCO3(干纤维重计的灰)。手抄纸是由上述原料制备的,该原料含有不同数量的液态阴离子纸用直接染料(含13%C.I.直接紫色35)的1∶1混合物和液态光学增白剂(含25%C.I.F.Br.290)的混合物,作为对照则含有50%的相同液态纸用染料(C.I.直接紫色35)溶液。加入上胶试剂(1.7%Aquapel360X),并使用贮留助剂以保留白垩填料(0.003%的Cartaretin20CE)。随后加入染料和染料/光学增白剂混合物,其是以干纤维上液体产物的重量的:
0.0%,0.001%,0.003%,0.006%和0.100%。
然后,手抄纸经过承压后干燥。下表显示的是测量结果,其中包含UV组分,使用Minolta CM-3700d分光计测定的。

Claims (6)

1.一种白纸对样校色的方法,其特征在于由一种或多种直接染料和一种或多种光学增白剂以25/75~90/10的重量百分比组成的混合物以一步工序加入纸浆。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中重量百分比为50/50。
3.权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,使用了C.I.直接紫51,C.I.直接蓝267,C.I.直接紫35和/或C.I.直接红253。
4.权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,使用了C.I.颜料紫23、C.I.颜料紫3和/或C.I.颜料蓝15。
5.权利要求1~4任一项的方法,其特征在于,光学增白剂是湿部用光学增白剂,上胶压榨用光学增白剂和/或涂料用光学增白剂。
6.权利要求5的方法,其特征在于,使用了光学增白剂C.I.荧光增白剂220,C.I.荧光增白剂28和/或C.I.荧光增白剂264。
