Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种超导体的制备方法。
背景技术
高温超导体(HTS)薄膜用于在能源技术中的应用。低于转变温度Tc时电阻消失允许提高各种贮存、变换或输送电能装置的效率。
在理想状态下,在非常长的薄金属带(HTS带状导体)上沉积HTS-薄层。这种HTS带状导体可以在已建立的负载有大电流的应用中代替铜导体。这些大电流导致在铜导体中严重的欧姆损耗。使用超导体可以避免这些损耗。
此外,可以改善应用,其中铜导体现在已经被常规的超导体所取代。HTS允许实质上较高的操作温度并且抵抗较高的磁场。得到的针对冷却的努力的减少提高了效率。而且,有其中基材应当是不导电的应用。在这些情况下,可以用其它的基材如陶瓷来代替金属带。
对于技术应用,对超导体负载电流的能力特别关心。这通过定义为电流与导体横截面积的比值的临界电流密度Jc来测量,所述电流在超导体中产生1μV/cm的电场。通常于77.4K的温度(液氮的沸腾温度)指示临界电流密度Jc。
现在,典型使用的超导材料是具有转变温度为稍高于92K和临界电流密度为几个MA/cm2的YBa2Cu3O7(YBCO)。备选地,也使用类似的RBa2Cu3O7-化合物。以下,R表示钇,一种稀土族(原子序号57-71)元素或这些元素的两种或多种的混合物。在稀土元素系列中排除的是元素铈(Ce)和镨(Pr)。因为Ce在组分中典型为四价,没有Ce-组分类似于YBCO。如果使用非常纯的Pr-材料并且如果使用特殊的制备条件,PrBa2Cu3O7存在,但是它仅是超导的。如在Z.Zou等于Phys.Rev.Lett.80中的第1074-1077页(1998)的出版物中所解释的,即使在这种情况下,超导也仅在样品中的一部分观察到。在大多数情况下,已经存在的少量杂质使PrBa2Cu3O7为有半导体特性的并且是不超导的。
在这些超导体的RBa2Cu3O7成分中,只有作为单晶规则层(外延层)存在的成分才表现出很高的负载电流能力。为了制备高度-规则的外延层,需要织构(textured)的基材(单晶或通过辗轧具有织构的金属箔)或在非织构基材(例如陶瓷,不锈钢箔)上的织构缓冲层。
为了制备这种RBa2Cu3O7-薄层,有几种确定的方法,例如在H.Kinderet al.Physica C 282-287,第107页(1997)出版物和在J.Geerk et al.IEEETrans.On Appl.Supercond.11 No.1,第3856-3858页(2001)和DE 39 14 476中所讨论的方法,其中它可以区别原位和非原位沉积的方法:
原位方法主要涉及物理沉积方法或所谓的化学气相沉积(CVD)方法,其中在适宜的条件下,于真空向加热的基材上沉积超导体成分。当成分到达基材时,它们直接反应和形成理想的晶体晶格结构,其中基材的结晶取向已经完成(外延生长)。为了形成具有高负载电流(>1MA/cm2)能力的最好质量的涂层,在小于1nm/s的相对低速率下进行生长。如果沉积速率增加到几个nm/s,那么就降低了膜的临界电流密度,在非完美的有人工定向的缓冲层的基材如金属带或多晶陶瓷基材上尤其如此。这些导致相当长的沉积时间。
在非原位方法中,首先依靠化学,物理或机械沉积方法沉积无定形前体。此前体包括所有必须的超导体的金属成分。但是,它没有晶序并且因此不是超导体。转变典型地通过应用超过600℃的温度于适宜的气体混合物中发生,该气体混合物支持相转变并且调整必须的氧含量。在理想的条件下,结晶在靠近结晶基材的边界开始。在适宜的工艺条件下,结晶面可以相对高的速度>1nm/s穿过前体材料到达表面,直到它耗尽。但是,在高转移速度的情况下,也观察到这里负载电流的临界能力实际上的降低。而且在此情况下,这样选择工艺参数如温度和氧气压力,使转移速度足够低,以允许生长具有高电流密度的高质量层。因此,也在此情况下,需要相当多的时间用于整个层的制备。
为了克服这些困难并且为了制备高质量的RBa2Cu3O7-层,在文献中已经描述了帮助提高HTS-功能层的生长的多层系统。例如,在US5,712,227中,描述了通过使用YBCO中间层,在没有大家所采纳的晶格结构条件下,怎样在MgO-基材上提高BiSrCaCuO-层的质量。
对于更有问题的引起关于铝扩散进入超导体的问题的基材材料α-Al2O3(蓝宝石)的情况,在US 5,162,294中建议一种La2-xSrxCuO4-中间层用来改善HTS-层。在电介质的基材上,也描述了薄的超导缓冲层,特别是来自RBa2Cu3O7的缓冲层,其帮助改善接着的再一层XBa2Cu3O7-层的生长(其中R和X是稀土元素或Y或这些元素的两种或多种的混合物),参阅WO 00/16412和JP 01063212的公开。
但是,在两种情况下,对于两-层结构或本质上具有低沉积速率的方法(溅射,分子束外延(MBE)),优选使用低沉积速率(0,0667nm/s)。因此,主要依靠改善HTS-层和基材的化学兼容性来提高HTS-质量。具体而言,在所有情况下,以与实际功能层具有相似的生长速率进行中间层的沉积。这也导致这里相应的长的制备时间。
而且,对于在电介质基材上的熔融RBa2Cu3O7-晶种层的单晶生长也进行了描述,参阅US 5,869,431。但是,单晶的生长不同于接近热力学平衡的层沉积。这样选择RBa2Cu3O7-层的生长,使其熔点高于XBa2Cu3O7-晶体的熔点,以便在浸渍期间保持晶种层进入熔体,并且晶种层可以作为结晶的起点。
如所解释的,所有上面描述的方法需要相当长的时间。但是,使用高体积生长速率,才可以经济地进行长金属基材的涂布。因此本发明是基于这些问题,提供一种快速生长HTS-导体、同时不降低层的质量和它的电流密度的方法。
发明内容
本发明涉及一种在基材上制备高温超导体的方法,该方法含有下列步骤:以低生长速率向基材上沉积RBa2Cu3O7-层,其中R表示钇,一种稀土族(原子序号57-71)元素或这些元素的两种或多种的混合物;和以高的生长速率在RBa2Cu3O7-层上沉积XBa2Cu3O7-层,其中X表示钇,一种稀土族(原子序号57-71)元素或这些元素的两种或多种的混合物。
本发明是基于这样的认识:如果向其上沉积随后的层的基材具有与沉积膜非常相似的化学和晶体学性质,那么即使高质量的晶体生长也可以非常迅速地发生。在理想的情况下,它是相同的材料;将这种情况称为均相外延;相反,异质外延是这样的情况,其中基材和沉积材料的化学和晶体学性质不同。化学潜能和表面能(表面张力)的差别决定生长模式并且可以引起岛状生长或层状生长。化学潜能或表面能越相似,在生长边界上的原子将越容易和越快地粘附到已经存在的晶体表面上。
在异质外延的情况下,如果使用过快的生长速率,对于在基材边界上的沉积原子没有足够的时间用于规则的安排。发生晶体结构的缺陷,这即使在进一步在厚度方向生长下也将是不可治愈的,并且它将削弱该层的整体质量。根据本发明,这些缺陷可通过下面的方法避免:首先在低速度下沉积RBa2Cu3O7-层,优选该层作为随后以高速度沉积的并且代表高温超导体的实际功能层的XBa2Cu3O7-层的晶种层。
优选低生长速率为<1nm/s,并且优选高生长速率为>1nm/s,优选为>2nm/s。因此,为了规则的沉积,RBa2Cu3O7-层要足够慢地生长。由于与安置在其下面的第一RBa2Cu3O7-晶种层的化学相似性,可以以高的生长速率沉积随后的XBa2Cu3O7-层,以提高制备HTS-层的总生产率。
优选RBa2Cu3O7-层的最大厚度为500nm,特别优选为100nm并且优选至少为5nm厚。优选XBa2Cu3O7-层的厚度为>1μm。
优选地,向一种至少双轴织构的基材或一种具有至少双轴织构的缓冲层的基材上沉积RBa2Cu3O7-层。这导致在RBa2Cu3O7-层中要求的晶体学次序。
根据再一个实施方案,沉积XBa2Cu3O7-层作为前体层,其包括高温超导层的金属成分。优选在方法的再一个步骤中,通过温度处理以高的转变速率将前体层转变成为超导的XBa2Cu3O7-层。此外,在此备选的实施方案中,本发明的RBa2Cu3O7-层,其首先以低生长速率沉积,保证在RBa2Cu3O7-层上安置的前体层随后快速转变,导致足够质量的XBa2Cu3O7-层,其允许获得非常高的临界电流密度。优选此转变速率为>2nm/s。特别优选的是,如果R是具有大的离子半径的稀土元素(La,Pr,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd)或含有至少50%这些元素并混合其它稀土元素的化合物,由于来自于这些材料的层倾向于在基材缺陷之上良好生长,可以弥补这些缺陷。

具体实施方式
从固相(前体)或直接从气相开始的单晶层的生长远离热力学平衡。生长速度越快,离平衡的距离越远。如下所述,本发明的实施方案克服了与用于快速制备高电流密度的规则HTS层的这种非平衡态有关的困难。
在本发明的第一个优选的实施方案中,高速率和高临界电流密度的HTS-层的生长是通过下面的方法达到的,该生长导致如图1所示的层系统:使用常规技术例如溅射,PLD,CVD,真空沉积等,以低速率<1nm/s首先向基材1a例如电介质的单晶或织构的金属带上沉积5-500nm的薄RBa2Cu3O7-层,该基材至少在其表面上具有双轴织构的区域。
在方法的第二步中,向晶种层2上将厚至几个微米的XBa2Cu3O7-功能层3以高速度沉积方法沉积或快速结晶进行沉积。由于晶种层2与功能层3的材料的相似性,生长几乎是均相外延的,即接近于表面的缺陷的形成被抑制并且层的质量得到提高,所以可以达到高临界电流密度>1MA/cm2。值得注意的是图1(和图2)的层厚度仅仅是示意性的并且不是依比例决定的。
根据第一个实施方案的改进,得到图2的层系统,使用所提到的标准沉积方法向一种具有至少双轴织构的缓冲层(1b)的基材1a上沉积RBa2Cu3O7-晶种层2,其中RBa2Cu3O7-晶种层2也是双轴织构的,并且其中使用的是<1nm/s的低沉积速率。由以高生长速率>2nm/s沉积的XBa2Cu3O7-功能层3跟随此晶种层。
相对于现有技术而言,由于XBa2Cu3O7-功能层实际上较高的沉积速率,在制备HTS-层的生产率方面有明显的优势。
实施例
1、在电介质的单晶1a例如MgO,Al2O3,YSZ(钇稳定的氧化锆)上或在双轴织构的金属基材如银,银合金,镍,镍合金或含有这些材料的复合材料上,使用标准的沉积方法,以低生长速率<1nm/s制备5-200nm厚的RBa2Cu3O7-晶种层2。使用高速率>2nm/s的快速沉积方法,向这些层上沉积厚至几个微米的超导XBa2Cu3O7-层3。
2、在具有双轴织构的缓冲层1b的基材1a上,使用标准的沉积方法,以低生长速率<1nm/s制备5-200nm厚的RBa2Cu3O7-层2。使用高速率>2nm/s的快速沉积方法,向该层上沉积厚至几个微米的超导XBa2Cu3O7-层3。

Claims (10)
1.在基材(1a)上制备高温超导层的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:
a.以<1nm/s的低生长速率向基材(1a)上沉积RBa2Cu3O7-层(2),其中R表示钇、一种原子序号为57-71的稀土族元素或这些元素的两种或多种的混合物;
b.以高生长速率向RBa2Cu3O7-层(2)上沉积XBa2Cu3O7-层(3),其中X表示钇、一种原子序号为57-71的稀土族元素,或这些元素的两种或多种的混合物,特征在于所述高生长速率是>1nm/s。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述高生长速率为>2nm/s。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述RBa2Cu3O7-层(2)具有的厚度为5nm-500nm。
4.根据权利要求3所述的方法,其中所述RBa2Cu3O7-层(2)具有5nm-100nm的厚度。
5.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述XBa2Cu3O7-层(3)具有的厚度为>1μm。
6.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述RBa2Cu3O7-层(2)是向至少双轴织构的基材(1a)或具有至少双轴织构的缓冲层(1b)的基材上沉积的。
7.根据权利要求3所述的方法,其中所述XBa2Cu3O7-层(3)是作为前体层沉积的,其包括高温超导层的金属成分。
8.根据权利要求7所述的方法,其中所述前体层通过温度处理以高转变速率转变成为超导的XBa2Cu3O7-层(3),特征在于所述高转变速率是>2nm/s。
9.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中R代表稀土元素La、Pr、Nd、Sm、Eu或Gd,或含有至少50%这些元素并混合其它稀土元素的化合物。
10.根据权利要求1至9中任何一项所述方法制备的高温超导体层系统。
