技术领域
本发明涉及一种数字电视(后文中简称为“TV”),更具体地说,涉及一种用于更新电子节目向导(EPG)信息的方法及其设备。
背景技术
诸如HDTV(高清晰度电视)的下一代数字广播系统当需要所期望的服务时能够多方面地分配必要的位速率。也就是说,有可能通过一条具有有限的传输频带的RF(射频)频道来传输多台节目。例如,在某一时间周期上将标准清晰度电视(SDTV)节目安排在多频道上,而在另一时间周期上可将HDTV节目安装在一条单频道上。这种概念就是所谓的ISDB(综合业务数字广播:Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting),这种ISDB被在诸ITU-R(国际电信联盟无线电通信分区:International Telecommunication Unio-RadioCommunication Sector)的国际会议上参考为数字广播系统的基本概念。
因此,有必要使数字多频道TV广播在TV屏幕上显示节目向导信息,以便用户能够从几台节目中挑选所期望的一个节目。在美国,对于诸如HDTV的数字广播已经制定了一套具体的EPG规则。也就是说,电视台通过每一个RF频道发射EPG信息,而电视机存储EPG信息,和当用户需要时将其显示在TV屏幕上。这种EPG规则的一个实例是美国ATSC(美国高级电视制式委员会)的EPG标准。
通过观看频道,即所选择的当前频道,可以接收到这样的信息,因此当以前的信息不同于最新的信息时以前存储的先前的EPG信息就会被最新的信息更新。
此外,非常可能的是,每一个电视台发射它自己的EPG信息,而用户只能观看特殊的频道。在这种情况下,除当前频道之外的其它频道的EPG信息不能被更新,因此,尽管频道的EPG信息被改变了,电视机仍然有不同于新EPG信息的旧EPG信息。因此,在除所选择的当前频道之外的其它频道上给用户提供了错误的EPG信息。因此,如果用户想要观看其它没有被选择的频道上的EPG信息,则必须中断当前的TV频道,并转换到感兴趣的EPG信息的另一个频道上。
如上所述,在当前频道上的EPG信息能够被更新,而在用户没有观看的另一个频道上的EPG信息不能被更新,或者当前TV频道必须被中断,并转换到另一个想要观看其EPG信息的频道上。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的是提供一种把关于数字电视机所有频道上的EPG信息立即更新为最新的正确EPG信息的方法及其设备。
根据本发明,提供了一种用于更新具有两个调谐器的数字电视接收机中的电子节目向导(EPG)信息的方法,包括如下步骤:通过使用所述调谐器中的一个调谐器来选择当前观看的频道;和通过使用所述调谐器中的另一个调谐器一个接一个依次地自动检查频道,来接收和更新各频道的所述EPG信息。
根据本发明,还提供了一种用于当通过由第一调谐器选择的频道观看时在具有第一和第二调谐器的数字TV接收机中更新EPG信息的设备,其包括:第一和第二IF(中频)模块,其每一个将根据频道选择而从第一和第二调谐器输出的IF信号转换成相应的基带;第一和第二频道解码器,其每一个把来自所述第一和第二IF模块的基带信号转换为频道信号以便重构数据位流;第一TS(传输流)解码器,用于从由第一频道解码器重构的所述数字位流中分离出各音频数据、视频数据和EPG数据;第二TS解码器,用于从由第二频道解码器重构的数据位流中分离出辅助数据;存储器,用于存储EPG信息;和控制器,用于采用由第二TS解码器从通过由第二调谐器一个接一个依次地自动选择的其它频道获取的数据位流中分离的EPG数据更新存储器。

下面将结合附图以举例方式更加具体地描述本发明,附图中:
图1是根据本发明的一个实施例的EPG信息更新设备的框图;和
图2是根据本发明的实施例在图1中所示的微处理器的处理流程图。
具体实施方式
图1是显示EPG信息更新设备的框图,这种EPG信息更新设备应用到采用MPEG标准的HDTV接收机上,在图中省略了与本发明没有直接关系的组成单元。参考图1,当通过天线120接收数字TV广播信号时,第一调谐器100在微处理器116的控制下选择TV频道,因而产生IF信号。第一IF模块102把从第一调谐器100传送而来的IF信号转换成基带信号。第一频道解码器104将上述基带信号解码成频道信号以便重构数据位流。
第一TS解码器从由第一频道解码器104重构的数据位流中分离出音频数据、视频数据和辅助数据,因而在通过RF频道接收到的节目中从由微处理器116选择的节目中分离出音频和视频数据。这样分离的音频和视频数据根据MPEG标准分别由对应的音频和视频解码器解码,据此,结果信号被处理,从而以音频和图像信号的形式输出。此外,含有EPG信息的辅助数据被传送到微处理器116中。
当通过天线120接收数字TV广播信号时,第二调谐器108在微处理器116的控制下选择TV频道,从而产生IF信号。第二IF模块110把从第二调谐器108输出的IF信号转换成基带信号。第二频道解码器将上述基带信号解码成频道信号以便重构数据位流。第二TS解码器114从由第二频道解码器112重构的数据位流中分离出辅助数据。这样分离的辅助数据也包含待被传送到微处理器116的上述EPG信息。
此外,存储器118包括:用于存储微处理器116的程序的ROM;用于临时存储运行微处理器116的程序所得出的数据的RAM;和用于存储各种参考数据的EEPROM。上述EPG信息由微处理器116存储到存储器118中。上述微处理器116用作包括图1所示的单元的HDTV接收机的控制器,进而根据存储在存储器118中的程序来控制HDTV接收机的各种功能的总体运行。
上述第一和第二调谐器100、108,第一和第二IF模块102、110,第一和第二频道解码器104、112,第一和第二TS解码器106、114,和存储器118通过总线120与微处理器116连接在一起。
图2是微处理器116的处理流程图,它表示由第一调谐器100选择当前观看频道,第二调谐器108自动搜索所有频道,因而从由第二TS解码器114分离出的辅助数据中识别关于每个频道的EPG信息,并更新EPG信息,以便在存储器118中存储被更新的EPG信息。根据图2的处理流程的功能被编程到存储器118中。
下面结合图1和2详细描述根据本发明实施例的操作。当打开TV接收机、或用户转换频道时,微处理器116在步骤200中通过第一调谐器100选择当前频道。据此,第一调谐器100产生当前频道的IF信号,然后这个IF信号被转换成基带信号以便由第一频道解码器104进一步转换成频道信号,由此,得出的信号被施加到第一TS解码器106上。据此,第一TS解码器106产生当前观看频道的音频和视频数据,以便输出音频和图像信号,此时,由第一TS解码器106分离的辅助数据被施加到微处理器116中。
在这种状态下,在步骤202中,微处理器116通过第二调谐器108一个接一个依次地自动检查其它的频道,因而接收关于每一个频道的EPG信息以更新存储的旧EPG信息,并且处理过程进入到步骤204,以检查当前频道的EPG信息是否被改变。此外,更新每个频道上的EPG信息的操作与传统方法相同。也就是说,当检查每一个频道时,微处理器116将包含在从第二TS解码器114接收到的辅助数据中的当前EPG信息与存储在存储器118中的先前的EPG信息进行比较,如果两者不同,则更新EPG信息,以便将最新接收到的EPG信息存储在存储器118中。
为了参考起见,包括HDTV的TV接收机通常设有自动频道检查功能,这种自动频道检查功能检查所有的TV频道的当前被接收的每一个频道,以存储相应的EPG信息,其中这种功能以这样的方式被编程,即只有当前被接收的频道才被自动地检查。如上所述,当用户按下频道上升(channel-up)键或频道下降(channel-down)键而没有通过数字键个别地选择频道时,这些没有接收的频道就不会被无谓地选择,从而可以方便地使用自动频道检查功能。
因此,在步骤202中,对各个EPG信息检查当前被接收的TV频道,并且被检查的每个EPG信息被更新成最近接收的EPG信息。
因此,通过第二调谐器108的手段,关于所有频道的EPG信息能够独立于当前正在观看的频道而被迅速更新为和保持为最新的内容。因此,本发明方法能够总是迅速地为用户提供最新和正确的EPG信息,而不管当前正在观看的频道,并且也不需要转换频道。
尽管已经通过特定的实施例对本发明进行了描述,但应该注意到,可在不偏离本发明的旨意的前提下进行各种修改。具体地说,本发明的上述实施例只显示了关于HDTV接收机的一个实例,但是,本发明可以应用到所有使用EPG信息系统的数字TV接收机中。并且,尽管上面的实施例示范了用于更新EPG信息的自动频道检查方法,本发明还能够提供用于只检查除当前观看的频道之外的其余频道的EPG信息的方法,这种方法有一个优点,那就是当前观看的信道的EPG信息能够从第一TS解码器106中被传送到微处理器116中,而不必要由第二调谐器108单独地检查。此外,当需要时,有可能只从用户所期望的频道中检查待更新的EPG信息。因此,决不能把上面的实施例解释为对本发明本身的限制。因此,本发明的范围必须由所附的覆盖落在本发明的精神和范围之中的所有这些改变和修改的权利要求来确定。
如上所述,本发明有如下的优点:有关数字TV接收机的所有频道的EPG信息能够被迅速地更新和总是保持最新的内容,并且能够不必改变频道便可为用户迅速提供当前未被选择的最新和正确的EPG信息。

Claims (9)

1.一种用于更新具有两个调谐器的数字电视接收机中的电子节目向导(EPG)信息的方法,包括如下步骤:
通过使用所述调谐器中的一个调谐器来选择当前观看的频道;和
通过使用所述调谐器中的另一个调谐器一个接一个依次地自动检查频道,来接收和更新各频道的所述EPG信息。
2.如权利要求1所述的更新EPG信息的方法,其中所述待被检查的信息由用户预置。
3.如权利要求1所述的更新EPG信息的方法,其中所述待被检查的频道是除所述当前观看的频道之外的其余频道。
4.如权利要求1所述的更新EPG信息的方法,其中所述待被检查的频道是所有当前被接收的频道。
5.一种用于更新数字电视接收机中的电子节目向导(EPG)信息的设备,包括:
第一和第二调谐器,每一个均用于选择频道;
第一和第二IF模块,每一个均将根据频道选择从所述第一和第二调谐器输出的IF信号转换成相应的基带信号;
第一和第二频道解码器,每一个均解码从所述第一和第二IF模块输出的基带信号,从而重构数据位流;
第一TS解码器,用于从由所述第一频道解码器重构的所述数据位流中分离出各个音频数据、视频数据和辅助数据;
第二TS解码器,用于从由所述第二频道解码器重构的所述数据位流中分离出辅助数据;
存储器,用于存储所述EPG信息;和
控制器,用于在通过使用所述第一调谐器选择当前观看频道的条件下,通过使用所述第二调谐器一个接一个依次地自动检查频道,确认辅助数据中各个频道接收到的所述EPG信息,和对所述存储器更新所述EPG信息。
6.如权利要求5所述的更新数字电视接收机的EPG信息的设备,其中所述待被检查的频道由用户预置。
7.如权利要求5所述的更新数字电视接收机的EPG信息的设备,其中所述待被检查的频道是除所述当前观看频道之外的其余频道。
8.如权利要求5所述的更新数字电视接收机的EPG信息的设备,其中所有被接收的频道是通过所述控制器的自动频道检查程序自动地检查的。
9.如权利要求5所述的更新数字电视接收机的EPG信息的设备,其中所述控制器是微处理器。
