在垒球或棒球的球棒中,一个弹簧钢(或相当的材料,如铝、钛)插件卷成“筒形”,并插入球棒的帽端中,插件被释放弹出而定位,与球棒筒身内壁贴紧。

所有球棒2,12,22和32中可安放本发明的插件。图2a~2c表示了本发明范围内的三种不同形状的插件。图2a的插件40是矩形,具长度“L”和宽度“w”。插件40可分别用于图1a,1b和1d的球棒2,12,和32。为了插入球棒,相对于图2a的视图,自左向右卷起插件,因而形成图3a中的插件40。图3a中的卷状插件40具有内边42和外边44。插件40的宽度选择成超过球棒筒身的内圆周长。这意味着当插件40在筒身里面时,边42和边44重叠在一起。
图2b的插件50用于图1c的球棒22。插件50具有长度L1的矩形部分52和长度L2的梯形部分54。长度L1选成大致为均匀直径筒身23的长度。梯形部分54的斜度相应于球棒22的锥形部分25的斜度。因而插件50将贴紧在球棒22里面,在矩形部分52和梯形部分54之间作出折痕或折缝56。插件50具有第一边或内边51和第二边或外边53。如同插件40一样,如图2b所示的插件50自左向右卷起,以得到如图3b所示的卷状插件50。
图2c的插件60用作图1d球棒32的优选插件。插件60是梯形,且其斜度相应于球棒32的第一锥形部分33的斜度。已经提到,图2a的矩形插件40可用于球棒32。然而,这不是优选的插件,因为把矩形插件放在锥形筒身中,沿着筒身33变化的直径,所得插件的边42和44不是均匀地叠在一起。而采用插件60,边62和64可在筒身33中均匀地叠合。

插件40的长度“l”,50的“l1加l2”和60的“l”与球棒击球区有关。对于垒球棒的典型长度是10英寸(25.4cm)或12英寸(30.5cm)。对于棒球棒的典型长度是6英寸(15.2cm),8英寸(20.3cm)或10英寸(25.4cm)。对于球棒22中的插件50,l1约为4英寸(10.2cm)。然而,这些尺寸仅作为举例,决不受此限制.
以上已经提到,对于插件40,边42和44在球棒中重叠,对于插件50,边51和53在球棒中重叠,对于插件60,边62和64在球棒中重叠。对于球棒2和12,球棒筒身的内圆周长可相对不变,对于球棒32,内圆周长可以变化,对于球棒22,可以具有一个均匀圆周长的部分和一个变圆周长部分。因此,已如上说明了三种形状的插件40、50、60的宽度均超过了安放该插件的相应球棒内圆周长,以提供这种重叠。我们尝试了几种球棒,其插件宽度为内圆周长的1.1倍,内圆周长的1.2倍,内圆周长的1.6倍,和内圆周长的2.1倍。所有的功能均良好,在球棒击球时提供了蹦床效应。甚至宽度为内圆周长的5.1倍的薄片也可采用。第一薄片厚0.005英寸(0.013cm),宽度为内圆周长的2.1倍,以及第二薄片厚0.010英寸(0.025cm),宽度为内圆周长的1.05倍,两薄片具有相同的长度,大致相同的重量,而功能相似。因此,在本发明范围内可作出许多种厚度和宽度的组合,均可达到所希望的结果。
插件40、50、60可粘或不粘在球棒中,插件的边42与44,51与63,62与64之间可相互闭紧或不闭紧。图4为一部分球棒的横截面,表示在筒身3中安放的插件40,其边42与44重叠。球棒2在封闭端6上有一个孔9,其直径小于球棒筒身的直径d。一般说,孔9直径为“d”的90%或更小。在插件放入筒身3之后,一个与端帽功能相似的钮扣10放入孔9中,以封闭球棒2的端部。作为替代,可用树脂浇铸来封闭孔9。该树脂浇铸也可用来闭紧插件。
如图示,用树脂粘结剂11把插件40粘结在球棒筒身内,图示粘在球棒筒身内插件的两端。树脂粘结剂11,或其它粘结材料,可仅用在任何一端上。不需要两端都用。图中插件40在两个位置上被闭紧,这里采用了定位焊46使插件端边42和44相互重叠。作为替代,可沿边上采用胶水、胶黏剂或树脂。这将使插件具有圆柱体的刚度,以便沿球棒周向提供均匀的击球响应。还有,筒身内部可涂以胶水、胶黏剂或树脂,因而当插件40插入孔9并展成直径“d”时,胶黏剂可沿插件外圆周,把插件40闭紧到筒身3的内圆周上。
图5表示了安放在球棒22中插件50的横截面视图。该视图表示了插件部分52与球棒不变直径部分23的连续配合,以及插件部分54与球棒可变直径部分25的连续配合,如折缝56所容许那样。
图6和7表示了垂直球棒轴线的截面视图,视图是从图4的视图转了90°。对于图6的视图,宽度为筒身3内圆周长1.1倍的插件40安放在筒身3内。对于图7的视图,宽度为筒身13内圆周长2.1倍的插件40安放在筒身13内。
在使用中,当单壁球棒与球接触时,球棒筒身向内弯曲或变形。由于弹性变形,球棒筒身恢复到其正常形状,因而有助于把球从球棒筒身上推出。如果筒身壁太薄,可产生塑性变形,由此筒身壁不能回弹或恢复到其正常形状。如果筒身壁太厚,弹性变形小于所希望的值,则不能按要求把球推出。
对于插件40、50、60,球棒筒身壁的变形被减小了。而由筒身与插件的组合厚度,以及球棒金属与插件材料的性能来决定变形。
以上详细的说明主要是为了使理解得更清楚,而不可由此认为有不必要的限制,因为对于阅读该说明的熟悉技术的人员来说,其修改形式将很明显,它不会背离本发明的精神或超出所附权利要求的范围。

Claims (19)

1.一个球棒包括:一个筒身和一个手柄,上述筒身和上述手柄之间有一个锥形部分;上述筒身具有内圆周;一个平薄片插件,上述插件具有长度和宽度,上述插件被卷曲并安放在上述筒身内,上述插件沿上述长度方向与上述筒身配合,上述宽度值大于上述筒身的内圆周长。
2.权利要求1的球棒,沿上述插件长度,上述内圆周长值不变。
3.权利要求1的球棒,沿上述插件长度,上述内圆周长值可变。
