背景技术
农业产品诸如杀虫剂、除草剂、微量营养素和杀真菌剂通常以液体形式存在。无论这些产品是作为液体制造、包装、使用或是应用,泡沫的形成都是常见问题。这是因为农业液体通常含有组分诸如表面活性剂、分散剂、流变改性剂和稳定空气/水界面的固体。该空气/水界面的稳定可导致泡沫的形成。
泡沫形成给液体农业产品的生产、包装、运输和应用带来了挑战。非预期的工人和环境暴露、无法填充包装、无法泵送液体以及不均匀的应用率都是泡沫存在可能带来的挑战的示例。
由于所有这些原因以及其它原因,需要用于农业产品中的泡沫控制剂和控制泡沫的方法。
发明内容
实施方案涉及用于农业产品的泡沫控制剂和控制泡沫的方法,其中该试剂至少包含支链醇。该有机消泡剂还可提高有机硅消泡剂的性能。
具体实施方式
本公开涉及用于农业产品的泡沫控制剂。本公开详述了支链醇如何出乎意料地显示出具有优异的泡沫控制性能。支链醇可以是2-烷基-1-烷醇(也称为格尔伯特(Guerbet)醇),并且优选地是2-乙基己醇(2-EH)和2-丙基庚醇(2-PH)。这些醇可经由相应醛的羟醛缩合或由伯直链醇的格尔伯特反应来合成。还可使用其它生产方法。
在本发明中,发现C8至C12β-支链醇(C9-C12格尔伯特醇)在农业产品的各个阶段期间在减少泡沫方面令人惊讶地有效。支链醇的另一个益处是它们具有良好的生物降解性。
目前公开的抑泡剂的一般结构如下:
其中x为2至8的整数,并且R为具有1至8个碳原子的烷基基团。
还可将泡沫控制剂描述为由C8-C12组成的2-烷基取代的醇。这些醇可主要为一种异构体(>95重量%)或醇的混合物,该混合物可通过醛的混合物的羟醛缩合产生,或经由格尔伯特反应由醇的混合物产生。
在一些实施方案中优选的是,包含2-乙基己醇、2-丁基-1-辛醇和2-丙基庚醇的C8-C32格尔伯特醇,以及由丁醛和戊醛的羟醛缩合产生的C8、C9和C10醇的混合物。
所配制的泡沫控制剂中的格尔伯特醇的浓度范围为0.01%至100%,优选地,当用作抑泡剂或消泡剂时范围为30%至100%。格尔伯特醇可以呈固体或液体的形式,液体是优选的。如果该格尔伯特醇是固体,则该材料可溶解或分散在溶剂中。所述泡沫控制剂可以是水溶液或基于有机溶剂的溶液。
其它泡沫控制剂(例如由环氧乙烷、环氧丙烷和/或环氧丁烷组成的无规或嵌段共聚物)或其它疏水性材料(诸如蜡、油或二氧化硅)也可与支链格尔伯特醇一起加入。有机硅消泡剂可与2-烷基醇一起使用。还可使用表面活性剂,特别是醇的烷氧基化物。支链醇作为泡沫控制剂的用途可以是基于水或基于油的。
本发明公开的新型泡沫控制剂可以呈固体或液体的形式。如果其是固体,则该材料可以在用作泡沫控制剂之前溶解或分散在溶剂中。本发明公开的试剂被认为在所有常用的农业产品的存在下发挥作用。
化学试剂可用于抑泡剂或消泡剂制剂中。抑泡剂制剂通过聚乙二醇、酯、有机硅、溶剂、水和在气泡的气液界面中避免泡沫形成的其它化学物质的混合物获得。也可以使用基于嵌段共聚物的其它两亲化学物质。在消泡剂制剂中,除了上文提到的产品之外,还可以使用植物油、矿物油、蜡和其它油性试剂。
选择泡沫控制剂中包含的任选的表面活性剂或乳化剂,以适于改善泡沫控制剂对原料的相容性,或与支链醇组合物形成乳液。任选的表面活性剂或乳化剂的量为支链醇组合物的0.1重量%至30重量%。
任选的表面活性剂或乳化剂可以是阴离子、阳离子或非离子的。合适的阴离子表面活性剂或乳化剂的示例是碱金属皂、铵皂和胺皂;此类皂的脂肪酸部分优选地含有至少10个碳原子。这些皂还可“原位”形成;换句话讲,可在油相中加入脂肪酸,并且在水相中加入碱性物质。
合适的阴离子表面活性剂或乳化剂的其它示例是烷基-芳基磺酸的碱金属盐、二烷基磺基琥珀酸钠、硫酸化或磺化油,例如硫酸化蓖麻油;磺化牛脂,以及短链石油磺酸的碱金属盐。
合适的阳离子表面活性剂或乳化剂是长链伯胺、仲胺或叔胺的盐,诸如油酰胺乙酸盐、鲸蜡胺乙酸盐、二-十二烷基胺乳酸盐、氨基乙基-氨基乙基硬脂酰胺的乙酸盐、二月桂酰基三亚乙基四胺二乙酸盐、1-氨基乙基-2-十七碳烯基咪唑啉乙酸盐;和季铵盐,诸如溴化鲸蜡基吡啶鎓、氯化十六烷基乙基吗啉鎓和氯化二乙基二-十二烷基铵。
合适的非离子表面活性剂或乳化剂的示例是高级脂肪醇与环氧乙烷的缩合产物,诸如油醇与10个环氧乙烷单元的反应产物;烷基苯酚与环氧乙烷的缩合产物,诸如异辛基苯酚与12个环氧乙烷单元的反应产物;高级脂肪酸酰胺与5个或更多个环氧乙烷单元的缩合产物;长链脂肪酸的聚乙二醇酯,诸如四乙二醇单棕榈酸酯、六乙二醇单月桂酸酯、壬乙二醇单硬脂酸酯、壬乙二醇二油酸酯、十三乙二醇单花生酸酯、二十二乙二醇单山嵛酸酯;多元醇部分高级脂肪酸酯,诸如脱水山梨糖醇三硬脂酸酯;多元醇部分高级脂肪酸酯的环氧乙烷缩合产物及其内部酸酐(甘露醇-酸酐,称为缩甘露醇;山梨醇-酸酐,称为脱水山梨糖醇),诸如甘油单棕榈酸酯与10个环氧乙烷分子反应,季戊四醇单油酸酯与12个环氧乙烷分子反应,脱水山梨糖醇单硬脂酸酯与10至15个环氧乙烷分子反应,缩甘露醇单棕榈酸酯与10至15个环氧乙烷分子反应;长链聚乙二醇,其中一个羟基基团与高级脂肪酸发生酯化,并且另一个羟基基团与低分子的醇发生醚化,诸如甲氧基聚乙二醇550单硬脂酸酯(550表示聚乙二醇醚的平均分子量)。可使用这些表面活性剂中的两者或更多者的组合;例如,阳离子可与非离子共混,或者阴离子与非离子共混。
泡沫控制剂还可包含一种或多种添加剂。添加剂的示例包括环氧乙烷/环氧丙烷嵌段共聚物、环氧丁烷/环氧丙烷嵌段共聚物、环氧乙烷/环氧丁烷嵌段共聚物、蜡或基于有机硅的材料。对于其中表面活性剂在产品中引起发泡的其它农业应用,可使用至多C32的高级2-烷基取代的醇。
格尔伯特醇或其制剂可作为溶液、悬浮液、乳液、分散体或干燥产品存在。其中所述的泡沫控制剂(含有格尔伯特醇)可用于但不限于农业应用诸如肥料、微量营养素或杀虫剂。可使用该试剂的制剂类型包括但不限于:悬浮液浓缩物(SC)、乳液浓缩物(EC)、胶囊悬浮液(CS)、微乳液(ME)、乳液:水包油(EW)、悬浮乳剂(SE)、可溶性浓缩物(SL)、水分散性颗粒(WG)、水溶性粉末(SP)、可湿性粉末(WP)和油分散体(OD)。
实施例
测试本发明公开的泡沫控制剂和其他泡沫控制剂的功效的实验可如下进行。
材料

注意:通过称量适当重量的丙二醇和ACP-1400以将50克的批次放入4盎司的玻璃罐中来完成在丙二醇中的稀释。盖上广口瓶并用手剧烈摇动30秒以混合。
测试方法学
对上文列出的各种实施例进行摇动测试。用于所述测试的设备是Burrell WRIST-ACTION型号AA摇动器,其配备有合适的夹具以容纳8oz(240mL)的French Square瓶(Burrell Corp.,Pittsburgh,PA,目录号75-755-04)。摇动器臂的测量值为5-1/4+/-1/16英寸(13.34+/-0.16cm)。修改的方法可使用测量值为9英寸+/-1.4英寸的摇动器臂。该长度是从摇动器轴的中心到瓶的中心测量的。应当注意,更长的轴长度倾向于产生更多泡沫,因此是更具挑战性的测试。该臂应当在静止位置是水平的以将瓶保持在竖直位置。摇动弧应当为约16度,并且频率为约350次/分钟。
对于比较例1至2和实施例1至3,进行摇动测试,其中摇动器臂固定在如从摇动器轴的中心到瓶的中心测量的9英寸的半径处。该臂在静止位置是水平的以将瓶保持在竖直位置。摇动弧为大约16度,并且摇动频率为大约350次/分钟。
摇动每种制剂四个循环,由8秒、32秒、48秒和96秒的连续持续时间组成。对于每个持续时间,记录泡沫塌缩和泡沫破裂所花费的时间。塌缩被定义为当停止摇动时泡沫在给定的测试液体的大部分表面上下降至小于0.5cm的时间。泡沫破裂的时间被定义为一旦停止摇动,透明表面通过泡沫出现在测试液体表面上的时间。
还使用摇动测试对比较例3至4和实施例4至7进行了测试。对于该测试,摇动器臂为从摇动器轴的中心到瓶的中心测量的大约5英寸。该臂在静止位置是水平的以将瓶保持在竖直位置。摇动弧为大约16度,并且摇动频率为大约350次/分钟。将每个制剂摇动30秒。在摇动停止之后,记录泡沫塌缩的时间。使每个制剂经受14次振荡和泡沫塌缩循环。如果样品在小于300秒内未能塌缩,则停止测试。泡沫塌缩被定义为在大部分表面上泡沫高度下降至小于0.5cm。
结果
泡沫控制剂的泡沫控制性能示于下表3至表5中。

如表3至表5所示,实施例1(2-丙基庚醇)作为农业制剂中的唯一消泡剂令人惊讶地提供了有效的泡沫控制。实施例2和3还表明2-丙基庚醇与有机硅化合物添加剂组合的令人惊讶的协同性能,其可改善延长剪切条件下的塌缩时间并且在改善农业制剂中的泡沫破裂性能方面特别有效。
实施例4表明2-丙基庚醇作为非离子表面活性剂溶液(农业应用中常见的表面活性剂系统)中的唯一消泡剂提供泡沫控制。实施例5表明2-乙基己醇作为非离子表面活性剂溶液中的唯一消泡剂还提供泡沫控制,该非离子表面活性剂溶液是农业应用中常见的表面活性剂系统。实施例6表明2-丙基庚醇与有机硅化合物添加剂的组合可改善非离子表面活性剂溶液(农业应用中常见的表面活性剂系统)中的泡沫控制性能。实施例7表明2-乙基己醇与有机硅化合物添加剂的组合可改善非离子表面活性剂溶液(农业应用中常见的表面活性剂系统)中的泡沫控制性能。所有这些都是令人惊讶和有益的结果,并且显示出明显优于所测试的比较例的性能。

8.根据权利要求5所述的方法,其中所述方法用于农业产品。
9.根据权利要求8所述的方法,其中所述农业产品是液体肥料、微量营养素或杀虫剂。
