本发明涉及一种电气连接装置,具体涉及一种用于110-型十字连接系统的改进的电线连接块,该连接块包括有多个平行开槽梁式接头,其结构和制造方法可使具有一整块本体的连接装置更易于装配。
发明背景
110-型十字连接布线系统是众所周知的,它常见于端接大量进线和出线系统的布线柜。十字连接布线系统通常在布线块上包括布线嵌条板,这些布线块对从电缆来的各电线进行端接,并与110-型向下冲压电线连接块相互连接,该连接块依次与软线连接装置相互连接。110-型电线连接块具有一包括多个双端开槽梁绝缘移动接头的绝缘壳体,这些接头在一端与布线块上的多根电线相互连接,并在相对端与软线连接装置的一扁平梁接头部分相互连接。虽然不同的现有110-型电线连接块通常是能互换的,但许多已有的连接块采用制造更为复杂、装配更为困难的两块壳体组件。采用一整块壳体的现有110-型连接块设计有例如颁发给Reed并转让给Whitaker公司的美国专利号5,409,404所示的电气连接装置。然而,这些设计存在一些缺点,例如需要额外的和更为复杂的装配步骤。因此110-型电线连接块的制造技术仍需改进。
本发明概况
因此,本发明的一个目的是提供一种改进的110-型电线连接块。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种改进的制造110-型电线连接块的方法。
本发明的连接块通常包括一个绝缘壳体以及位于多个穿过所述壳体形成的接头容纳槽中的开槽梁式接头,其中,所述接头包括一对朝向相反以与一对靠近所述接头容纳槽形成的朝向相反的凸出部分接合的已剪开的接头片,以将所述接头固定在所述壳体内,并通过一包括以下步骤的方法形成:提供一具有多个包括均靠近接头容纳槽形成的一第一凸出部分和一朝向相反的第二凸出部分的接头容纳槽的连接装置壳体;在一平面接头的中央部分的单侧剪出一对朝向相反的接头片;将剪开的接头片的一个成形进入带接头的平面内;将所述接头插入壳体的所述接头容纳槽,直至剩下的接头片靠在所述第一凸出部分上;以及通过一形成在所述壳体中的开口冲压,以在与第二凸出部分成紧靠关系的接头的一第二侧上形成第二个已剪开的接头片。
本发明的电气连接装置还可以以这样一种方法来获得,该方法包括如下步骤:提供一具有多个包括靠近接头容纳槽形成的一第一凸出部分和一朝向相反的第二凸出部分的接头容纳槽的连接装置壳体;剪出一接头以在一中央部形成一停止接头片;将所述接头插入壳体的所述接头容纳槽,直至停止接头片靠在所述第一凸出部分上;以及通过一形成在所述壳体中的开口冲压,以与第二凸出部分成紧靠关系形成第二个已剪开的接头片。
所述剪出接头的步骤包括在所述接头的同一侧剪出一朝向相反的第二接头片,然后将所述第二接头片形成到与接头成基本平面关系。
所述剪出接头的步骤包括在与第一个已剪开的停止接头片相对的接头一侧剪出一朝向相反的第二接头片,然后将所述第二接头片形成到与接头成基本平面关系。

较佳实施例描述
实施本发明概念的一电气连接装置在附图中总的用标号10表示。如图1所示,110-型电线连接块系由一整块壳体部分12以及多个通常为平面双端的槽梁IDC接头14组成。
连接装置壳体12系由绝缘材料制成,并由模制形成,包括第一和第二侧壁18、20和一对用于支承多个接头14的围绕多个接头容纳槽16的端壁22,如图1所示。标准的110-型连接装置具有一与一软线连接装置(未示)连接的软线端24和一与十字连接系统的分度嵌条或布线块(未示)连接的电线嵌条端26。软线端24包括上齿28和下齿30,这些齿用于与一软线连接装置的相应几何形状配合。上齿和下齿28、30均包括有与软线连接装置上形成的互补凹槽配合的拱形凸起32。电线嵌条端26包括有与布线块上的互补凸起接合的拱形凹槽34。
标准的110-型连接装置接头为双端的槽梁IDC接头。应注意的是也可采用其它众所周知的接头形式。由图2可见,接头的一第一端36和一第二端42均包括形成一开槽梁IDC接头部分38、44的一对叉。
最好如图3和4可见,本发明的1壳体本体12也被形成为包括一对靠近相对侧壁上的接头容纳槽、并面对连接装置10的相对端形成的内部凸出部分54、56。
本发明的接头起初是通过将接头中心部剪出两个接头片形成的。如图3所示,该两个接头片即一较短的停止接头片46和一较长的保持接头片48起初是在接头的相同侧、但在垂直方向相反的方向形成的(长接头片为假想线)。应注意这些接头片在起初剪切过程中的方向也可形成在接头的相对侧。然后将保持接头片48形成为返回到相对于接头14的平面配置成几乎扁平状。然后在停止接头片朝向内部的情况下将接头14从软线端插入连接装置壳体12,直至停止接头片46紧靠停止凸出部分54。然后通过一相反方向的冲压操作形成保持接头片48,直至它紧靠保持凸出部分。壳体12包括冲压开口50,该开口在停止接头片46紧靠停止凸出部分54时与保持接头片48对准。因此,接头在连接装置本体内被牢固地保持在两个方向。
虽然已对本发明的具体较佳实施例作了图示和描述,但熟悉本领域的人员显然可以进行改变和修正,这些改变和修正不脱离本发明的教导。以上的描述和附图仅为示意性而并不作为一种限制。当从现有技术基础上的适当角度来考察时,本发明的实际范围由以下的权利要求所限定。

Claims (8)

1.一种电气连接装置,包括:一绝缘壳体;以及
多个位于穿过所述壳体形成的多个接头容纳槽中的开槽梁式接头,其中,所述接头包括一与靠近所述接头容纳槽形成的一第一凸出部分接合的第一已剪开的接头片,以将所述接头固定在所述壳体内,其特征在于,所述接头还包括一与所述第一已剪开的接头片朝向相反的第二已剪开的接头片,该第二已剪开的接头片与靠近所述接头容纳槽形成的、与所述第一凸出部分朝向相反的第二凸出部分相接合。
2.如权利要求1所述的电气连接装置,其特征在于,所述接头为双端槽梁式接头。
3.如权利要求1所述的电气连接装置,其特征在于,所述第一和第二已剪开的接头片在所述接头的相反侧。
4.一种形成一电气连接装置的方法,包括以下步骤:
提供一具有多个包括均靠近接头容纳槽形成的一第一凸出部分和一朝向相反的第二凸出部分的接头容纳槽的连接装置壳体;
在一平面接头的中央部分剪出一对朝向相反的接头片;
将剪开的接头片的一个成形进入带接头的平面内;
将所述接头插入壳体的所述接头容纳槽,直至剩下的接头片靠在所述第一凸出部分上;以及
通过一形成在所述壳体中的开口冲压,以与第二凸出部分成紧靠关系形成第二个已剪开的接头片。
5.如权利要求4所述的形成一电气连接装置的方法,其特征在于,所述剪出一对朝向相反的接头片的步骤包括在接头的相反侧剪出接头片。
6.一种形成一电气连接装置的方法,包括以下步骤:
提供一具有多个包括靠近接头容纳槽形成的一第一凸出部分和一朝向相反的第二凸出部分的接头容纳槽的连接装置壳体;
剪出一接头以在一中央部形成一停止接头片;
将所述接头插入壳体的所述接头容纳槽,直至停止接头片靠在所述第一凸出部分上;以及
通过一形成在所述壳体中的开口冲压,以与第二凸出部分成紧靠关系形成第二个已剪开的接头片。
7.如权利要求6所述的形成一电气连接装置的方法,其特征在于,所述剪出接头的步骤包括在所述接头的同一侧剪出一朝向相反的第二接头片,然后将所述第二接头片形成到与接头成基本平面关系。
8.如权利要求6所述的形成一电气连接装置的方法,其特征在于,所述剪出接头的步骤包括在与第一个已剪开的停止接头片相对的接头一侧剪出一朝向相反的第二接头片,然后将所述第二接头片形成到与接头成基本平面关系。
