Abstract

Description

改进的端子卡环
本发明的技术主题涉及如下的美国申请,其序列号为No.08/864,104(96-PDC-547),名称为“Circuit Interrrupter with CoveredAccessory Case,Adjustable Under Voltage Relay,Self-Retaining Collarand One-Piece Rail Attachment”,申请日为1997年5月28日,发明人为Malingowski等人,受让人与本发明受让人相同。
本发明的技术主题一般说来涉及电路断路器,更具体地说,涉及电缆夹持卡环。
参考1993年4月27日授予Barbry的名称为“Terminal Assembly forA Circuit Breaker and Similar Apparatus”的美国专利US 5,206,789。本发明是在US 5,206,789专利的教导下作出的改进。电路断路器已是众所周知。需要将外部电线以及负载端子与电路断路器端子相连。方法之一是利用卡环结构,其提供一条将外部负载以及导线与电路断路器的主要端子互连的无焊通路。一般地说,此卡环结构由导电材料制成,它具有一个将电路断路器的内部端子与负载导体或外部线路所构成的叠加结构固紧或封闭的外缘。然后在该卡环的螺纹开口处形成紧固螺钉结构,用于调节下压邻接的叠加导体与端子以便将其固定。该现有技术卡环的问题在于,当其紧固螺钉下压至叠加的端子和导体时,在其外缘接点处易于造成分离。这显然是不利的。因此,须要提供一种用于电路断路器的卡环,在其中的紧固螺钉下压至卡环用以连接的内部端子和外部导体时不易分离。
因此,本发明的目的是提供一种能克服上述现有技术中存在的问题的用于电路断路器的卡环。
根据本发明,公开了一种用于将一个电导体与另一个电导体互连的卡环,它包括一互连材料形成围绕所述两个电导体的外缘,以将它们固定在一起;所述互连材料被互锁在一第一平面,所述卡环能在与所述第一平面垂直的平面内被固定装置穿过,以将所述电导体抵压在其内部,所述抵压通过使所述互锁部分在与所述第一平面垂直的平面彼此离开地旋转(546),倾向于使所述互连材料在互锁处分开,所述互锁装置在两互连材料的接触面还具有一沿与此接触面相垂直的方向向上延伸的凸起(552),以及与此凸起互补的阴狭缝,所述凸起与阴狭缝相配合以阻止所述互锁部分在与所述第一平面垂直的平面内彼此离开地旋转。
根据本发明,还公开了一种电路断路器,它包括置于一个绝缘盒中的可分离的主触点,所述主触点之一与一个端子互连,该端子又通过上述的一个卡环与一个电导体互连。其中上述卡环的互连材料是导电的。
为了更好地理解本发明,将结合附图参见其优选实施例加以说明。附图中:
图1表示现有技术的用于电路断路器的负载或导线端子卡环的正视图;
图2表示设于导线或负载导体之上的图1卡环的正视图;
图3表示与图1和2所示卡环不同的另一现有技术卡环;
图4表示本发明所采用的端子卡环;以及
图5表示采用图4卡环结构的模制盒式电路断路器的侧视图,其负载和导线端子处都进行了局部剖视图。
下面参见图1和图2,其中画出了用于电路断路器的负载或导线导体(line conductor)的现有技术自夹持卡环400。如图2所示,卡环400位于电路断路器10的导线导体71之上。卡环400包括导电材料例如铜制成的矩形截面的成形条带,在406、408、410和412处将其折叠四次,从而形成中空的矩形套管。该矩形部件的一端414包括一个半岛形材料部分418,在416处弯曲,并且与拐角406至408所限定的侧壁上的类似形状的开口420配合或妥当安排其中。以同样的方式,矩形凸出部分422从折叠材料的水平部分向外伸出,折叠材料从折叠部分406向右延伸。此后一矩形部分与折叠区412的键销部件或开口424互锁。这种安全结构可以由一个整体坯件制得较强的卡环部件。在其顶部,设有一个螺纹开口426,可以在该开口中轴向设置一螺纹部件(未画出),以便向下运动至卡环部件400的中央包围空间428,以压住插入其中的导线或导体。图1所示的卡环包括两个侧面的凸起或夹紧部件430A和430B,它们沿相反方向伸向中央开口428。在切口438的中间还半岛形地设有一个弹性支撑的隆起部分436。隆起部分436用于配合在电路断路器10的导线导体71的孔中,后面将加以说明。
下面参见图2,所示卡环400在导线导体71上自夹持设置。导线导体71固定在键销形凸起430A和430B的下部440之间以及卡环400的内底面之间,其中凸起430A和430B用以将其间矩形截面的导线导体71夹紧。凸起436向上伸入导线端子71的孔71A之中,从而轴向固定卡环400和导体71之间的关系。夹紧凸起430A和430B阻止卡环400相对于导体71的垂直运动,如图2所示。其横向运动由例如图2中所示450和452处的侧壁位置阻止。
下面参见图3,其中画出了另一个现有技术端子卡环的例子。端子卡环500由一导电材料的连续条带制成,形成四边502、504、506和508。电路断路器的导线端子510压在卡环的底部508的内侧,并且由尖凸512固定。在卡环500的顶部504设有螺纹孔514。在其502一边上设有一个接头520,它将导嗯材料条带的一端与导电材料条带的另一端接合在一起。接头部件之一包括一个倒转的阳T形部分,它由终止于水平伸出杆528的向下伸出的垂直杆526构成。在卡环500导电材料的另一端还设有一个互被的阴T形开口524。阴T形开口524包括一个与水平杆528对应的水平开口空间532和一个与阳垂直杆526对应的垂直阴空间533。在接合时,阳T形互锁部件522四周嵌入互补的阴T形开口524,从而形成互锁接头520。当紧固螺钉或类似装置沿方向536向下旋入螺孔514,以便将外部导体(未画出)加力下压在卡环500中央区域537中的导线端子510的顶部时,在相反方向会产生反作用力538,从而易于将接头520分开。如果力536及其反作用力538大于接头520的金属强度,则构成互补的阴T形开口524的封闭部分544的接头部件就会在联部件522的T表面540向上运动的作用下沿相反方向546向外转动。构成阴水平形532的狭窄区域的封闭部分544是接头520的最薄弱部分,易于沿方向546向外弯曲,或许甚至于切断,这取决于力538的相对大小。显然,图3现有技术卡环中所示接头520的分离是不利的。所以需要提供一种具有图3所示卡环中优点,并且在施加力536以便将叠加的导线端子510和导体固定在其中央区域537时其接头520也不会分离或分解的卡环。
下面参见图4,其中画出了采用本发明教导的改进卡环。在结合图4的说明中,与图3中所示部件相同的卡环部件由其后附加有标记撇号(’)的相同附图标记表示。在本发明该实施例中,图4卡环500’与图3现有技术卡环500之间具有数个差别。差别之一为尖凸512’的结构不同。它们是侧壁506’和502’的向内冲压部分。在图4实施例中,未画出导线或负载导体510,为的是显露底壁508’上的凸起或底座隆起560。若插入导线导体510,将会将其插入中央开口537’中尖凸512’以下卡环500’底部508’的上部,直到导线端子(未画出)中的互补孔卡住凸起560并由其固定。另一个显著差别在于位于侧壁502’的上部与倒转阳T形522’的垂直杆526’相邻的有狭缝550。在本发明的该实施例中,当紧固螺钉或类似装置(未画出)以前面关于图3所述的方式沿方向536向下旋入时,与图3装置的互补的阴T形524沿方向546向外旋转不同,阴狭缝550的存在与区域556处的互补阳突出部552一起,用以阻止或最大限度减小下部502’的外部沿方向546的转动。因此,如上构造的接头520’比图3的接头520更强固,从而有利于阻止由于紧固螺钉沿方向536下旋所引起的沿方向538的反作用力所造成的损害。
下面参见图5,其中画出了一个电路断路器10,它被局部剖开,显示出一对导线和负载端子卡环500’与导线端子510’和负载端子510A连接的结构。端子510’位于卡环的内部,抵在其底部,并且由尖凸512’固定在其中。两边都设有类似于图4所示的接头520’。在图5的实施例中,左边卡环500’的接头520’朝向外部。右边卡环500’的视图中未画出相同的接头。当紧固螺钉602向下旋至插入在卡环的导线端子或负载端子510’或510A上部的导体上时,接头520’充分强固,从而减小其由紧固螺钉602产生的力所造成的损害或恶化。为了对电路断路器10进行操作,还提供了把手604,用以打开和关闭位于电路断路器内连接导线端子和负载端子510’和510A的可分离三触点。

Claims (6)

1.一种用于将一个电导体与另一个电导体互连的卡环,包括一互连材料形成围绕所述两个电导体的外缘,以将它们固定在一起;所述互连材料被互锁在一第一平面,所述卡环能在与所述第一平面垂直的平面内被固定装置穿过,以将所述电导体抵压在其内部,所述抵压通过使所述互锁部分在与所述第一平面垂直的平面彼此离开地旋转(546),倾向于使所述互连材料在互锁处分开,所述互锁装置在两互连材料的接触面还具有一沿与此接触面相垂直的方向向上延伸的凸起(552),以及与此凸起互补的阴狭缝,所述凸起与阴狭缝相配合以阻止所述互锁部分在与所述第一平面垂直的平面内彼此离开地旋转。
2.根据权利要求1的卡环,其中所述一个电导体为一电器的一个端子。
3.根据权利要求1的卡环,其中固定装置是一个螺钉装置(602)且所述凸起是一个耳部(552)。
4.根据权利要求1、2或3的卡环,其中所述互连材料是导电的。
5.一种电路断路器(10)包括置于一个绝缘盒中的可分离的主触点,所述主触点之一与一个端子互连,该端子又通过权利要求1-3中任何一项所述的一个卡环与一个电导体互连。
6.一种电路断路器(10)包括置于一个绝缘盒中的可分离的主触点,所述主触点之一与一个端子互连,该端子又通过权利要求4所述的一个卡环与一个电导体互连。
