本发明涉及一种袋形二次电池密封设备和袋形二次电池制造方法,其能够以重叠状态向密封部照射红外激光,从而可增加密封力,防止发生褶皱,并且在形成袋形二次电池壳体的密封部时减少密封时间。

袋形二次电池密封设备和袋形二次电池制造方法
技术领域
本申请要求于2020年6月18日提交的韩国专利申请第2020-0074202号的优先权的权益,通过引用将上述专利申请的整个公开内容结合在此。
本发明涉及一种袋形二次电池密封设备和袋形二次电池制造方法,更具体地,涉及一种能够在没有褶皱的情况下将包括铝层的袋形二次电池壳体的密封部密封,从而可提高密封质量的袋形二次电池密封设备和袋形二次电池制造方法。
背景技术
随着近来使用电池的装置多样化,对高容量和高密度电池的需求增加。其中,具有高能量密度和高放电电压的锂二次电池已经商业化并且以各种形式使用。
锂二次电池基于外部形状分为圆柱形二次电池、棱柱形二次电池或袋形二次电池。其中,袋形二次电池的优点在于,可调节袋形二次电池的铝层压片的厚度以获得高容量和高密度二次电池,并且袋形二次电池可具有各种形状,因此已经对袋形二次电池进行了多方面的研究。
通常,通过将铝层压片成形以形成容纳部、在容纳部中容纳电极组件并且密封容纳部的外周来形成袋形二次电池。为了通过密封容纳部的外周形成密封部,常规袋形二次电池密封设备使用单个构件执行按压和加热。
图1是常规袋形二次电池密封设备的示意图。
如图1中所示,在常规袋形二次电池密封设备中,袋形二次电池壳体的密封部10分别由包括外部树脂层11、金属层12和内部密封剂层13的层压片构成,将密封部10设置为使得内部密封剂层13彼此面对,并且密封部被设置在配置为同时执行加热和按压的按压部20之间,从而通过按压部将密封部密封。
然而,在常规袋形二次电池密封设备中,热量从外部树脂层11传递到内部密封剂层13需要很多时间,并且外部树脂层11可能被损坏。
为了解决这一问题,专利文献1公开了一种使用激光密封袋形二次电池的方法。
图2是根据专利文献1的袋形二次电池密封设备的示意图。
在根据专利文献1的袋形二次电池密封设备中,与常规袋形二次电池密封设备的方式相同,袋形二次电池壳体的密封部10分别包括外部树脂层11、金属层12和内部密封剂层13,将密封部10设置为使得内部密封剂层13彼此面对,并且密封部被设置在按压部20之间。
在根据专利文献1的袋形二次电池密封设备中,与常规袋形二次电池密封设备不同,按压部20由透射红外光的材料制成,并且在按压部上方设置红外光照射部30。此外,红外光照射部30仅快速加热密封部10的金属层12,从而克服了常规袋形二次电池密封设备的缺点。此外,内部密封剂层13因加热的金属层12而熔融,从而在减少常规技术中引起的由于热量而导致外部树脂层11损坏的同时增加密封力。
然而,根据专利文献1的袋形二次电池密封设备的缺点在于,为了加热设置在外部树脂层11与内部密封剂层13之间的金属层12,激光的输出必须高。此外,存在的问题在于,无法均匀地执行加热,从而无法实现均匀的密封,并且在层压片中形成褶皱。
图3是通过常规袋形二次电池密封设备密封的层压片的照片,图4是通过根据专利文献1的袋形二次电池密封设备密封的层压片的照片。
在图3中,在150W的激光输出、100m/s的速度和35mm的宽度的条件下,在线间距值设为0.25、0.5、0.75和1的同时使用常规袋形二次电池密封设备将层压片密封。从图3可以看出,无论线间距如何,使用常规袋形二次电池密封设备密封的层压片的表面,即,尼龙层都被损坏或起褶皱,从而无法实现均匀的密封。
此外,从图4可以看出,在改变激光输出、速度和摆动(Wable)的同时使用根据专利文献1的袋形二次电池密封设备密封层压片。从图4可以看出,在以25%的输出、10mm/s的速度和250Hz的摆动(Wable)执行密封的情况下,粘附均匀,但尼龙层被损坏,在以25%的输出、15mm/s的速度和250Hz的摆动(Wable)执行密封的情况下,产生未粘附部分,尼龙层被损坏,并且当摆动(Wable)过强时,层压片被损坏。另一方面,可以看出,在摆动(Wable)为150Hz、100Hz或200Hz的情况下,层压片未被粘附或者其一部分未被粘附。
因此,需要一种能够均匀地、安全地并且快速地形成袋形二次电池壳体的密封部的袋形二次电池密封设备和袋形二次电池制造方法。

发明内容
技术问题
鉴于上述问题而做出了本发明,本发明的一个目的是提供一种能够使用至少两个红外光照射部密封袋形二次电池,从而可形成具有均匀密封力的密封部,并且能够在使用红外光的较小输出执行密封的同时减少暴露于红外光的时间的袋形二次电池密封设备和袋形二次电池制造方法。
本发明的另一个目的是减少密封时间、减小缺陷率并且提高生产率。
技术方案
为了实现上述目的,根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备包括:位于包括金属层的袋形二次电池壳体的密封部上方和/或下方的按压部,所述按压部由能够透射红外光的材料制成;配置为向所述按压部照射红外光的第一红外光照射部;以及配置为与所述第一红外光照射部的照射范围重叠地照射红外光的第二红外光照射部。
所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部中至少之一可照射808nm至980nm波长的红外光。
所述按压部可由石英透镜制成。
所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部中至少之一可包括:配置为照射激光的光源;以及位于所述光源下方的调节透镜。
所述调节透镜可以是半圆柱形透镜。
所述调节透镜的面对所述光源的表面可以是凸形的。
所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部中至少之一可具有80W/cm2或更大的输出密度。
所述金属层可由铝或铝合金制成,所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部可加热所述袋形二次电池壳体的所述金属层的铝或铝合金。
所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部可设置在所述袋形二次电池壳体的所述密封部上方和下方。
本发明提供了一种袋形二次电池制造方法,包括以下步骤:S1)将电极组件容纳在由包括外部树脂层、金属层和内部密封剂层的层压片制成的袋形二次电池壳体中,所述袋形二次电池壳体包括电极组件容纳部和形成为围绕所述电极组件容纳部的密封部;S2)将所述袋形二次电池密封设备设置在所述袋形二次电池壳体的所述密封部上方和下方;以及S3)在使用所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部加热所述密封部的同时,使用密封设备的所述按压部按压所述密封部,从而将所述密封部密封,其中所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部的照射范围彼此重叠。
所述金属层可由铝或铝合金制成。
所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部可引起所述金属层的加热,使得所述内部密封剂层被由此传导的热量熔融。
此时,所述金属层可被加热到180℃至300℃。
在本发明中,可从以上构造之中选择并组合一种或多种彼此不冲突的构造。

此外,在整个附图中,将使用相同的参考标记来指代执行相似功能或操作的部件。在本申请中一个部件被称为连接至另一个部件的情况下,该一个部件不仅可直接连接至该另一个部件,而且该一个部件还可经由另外的部件间接连接至该另一个部件。此外,包括某一元件并不意指排除其他元件,而是指可进一步包括其他元件,除非另有说明。
下文中,将参照附图详细描述根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备和袋形二次电池制造方法。
图5是示出根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备的第一实施方式的示意图。根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备包括:位于包括铝层的袋形二次电池壳体的密封部100上方和/或下方的按压部200,按压部由能够透射红外光的材料制成;配置为向按压部200照射红外光的第一红外光照射部300;以及配置为与第一红外光照射部的照射范围重叠地照射红外光的第二红外光照射部400。
密封部100可由包括外部树脂层110、包含铝层的金属层120、和内部密封剂层130的层压片制成。
外部树脂层110用于保护电池免受外部影响,因此相比于其厚度,需要高拉伸强度和耐候性。外部树脂层主要由诸如定向尼龙膜或聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)之类的聚合物制成。然而,本发明不限于此。
金属层120用于防止空气或湿气被引入到电池中。金属层120的材料没有特别限制,只要该材料在能够被红外光加热的同时表现出高成形性和延展性即可。例如,金属层可由铝或铝合金制成。
内部密封剂层130由于在安装了电极组件的状态下被施加的热量和压力相互热熔合而用于提供密封性,内部密封剂层130主要由流延聚丙烯(CPP)膜制成。可在外部树脂层110与金属层120之间和/或金属层120与内部密封剂层130之间添加粘合剂层。该粘合剂层用于补充位于粘合剂层的相对两个表面处的层之间的较低粘附力。
按压部200的材料没有限制,只要该材料透射红外光以使得红外光直接加热金属层120即可。例如,按压部200可由锗、硅、硫化锌、氟化镁、蓝宝石或玻璃制成。然而,优选的是,使用经济且坚硬的玻璃。特别是,按压部可由石英透镜制成。
根据本发明的第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400用于向按压部200照射红外光,以便加热金属层120。优选的是,金属层120由能够容易被红外光加热的材料,诸如铝或铝合金制成。
第一红外光照射部300的第一照射范围310和第二红外光照射部400的第二照射范围410形成为在袋形二次电池壳体的密封部上彼此重叠。此时,第一照射范围310和第二照射范围410可形成为仅在密封部上彼此重叠,如图5中所示。或者,优选的是,第一照射范围310和第二照射范围410仅设置在密封部上,如图5中所示,并且分别由第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400形成的第一照射范围310和第二照射范围410设置为在密封部以外的其他部分彼此不重叠。
第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400中至少之一可具有700nm至1100nm的红外波长,优选的是,LD波长(808nm至980nm)。
在红外波长太长的情况下,无法充分引起金属层的加热或密封剂层的熔融或者为此需要更多时间,这是不期望的。另一方面,在红外波长太短的情况下,由于高能量,电池壳体可能爆裂或起火,这也是不期望的。
此外,第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400中至少之一可具有80W/cm2或更大的输出密度。在输出密度小于80W/cm2的情况下,金属层120无法被充分加热,从而内部密封剂层130不会熔融。优选的是,输出密度是2.4kW/cm2或更大。在输出密度小于2.4kW/cm2的情况下,袋形二次电池壳体可能起褶皱,从而袋形二次电池壳体可能无法均匀地密封。
第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400中至少之一可与袋形二次电池壳体的密封部100分开20mm至40cm。
内部密封剂层130可在180℃至300℃熔融。在温度偏离上述范围的情况下,内部密封剂层可能熔融不充分或过度熔融,从而密封部100不会被适当地密封。
如图5中所示,第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400可分别设置在按压部200的左侧和右侧。或者,第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400可并排设置在按压部200上方或下方。根据第一红外光照射部300的第一照射范围310、第二红外光照射部400的第二照射范围410、按压部200与第一红外光照射部300之间的距离、按压部200与第二红外光照射部400之间的距离、以及第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400的输出密度,第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400的位置可改变。
可仅在袋形二次电池壳体的密封部100的一个表面设置第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400,或者如图5中所示可在袋形二次电池壳体的密封部100的相对两个表面都设置第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400。此时,当如图5中所示在密封部100的相对两个表面都设置第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400时,可在密封部100的相对两个表面都设置按压部200,或者可仅在密封部100的一个表面设置按压部200。当在密封部100的一个表面设置按压部200时,可在未设置按压部200的另一个表面设置用于支撑密封部100的支撑件。
图6是示出根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备的第二实施方式的示意图。除非另有说明,根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备的第二实施方式可具有与上述第一实施方式相同的构造。
根据第二实施方式的袋形二次电池密封设备的特征在于,第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400包括:配置为照射激光的光源320和420、以及分别位于光源320和420下方的调节透镜330和430。
优选的是,如图6中所示,在第一红外光照射部300设置有第一光源320并且在第一光源320下方设置有第一调节透镜330,在第二红外光照射部400设置有第二光源420并且在第二光源420下方设置有第二调节透镜430。
第一调节透镜330和/或第二调节透镜430可用于放大由第一光源320和/或第二光源420照射的红外光的照射范围。为此,第一调节透镜330和第二调节透镜430的每一个中的分别面对第一光源320和第二光源420的表面可以是凸形的。在这种情况下,第一调节透镜330或第二调节透镜430可以是半圆柱形透镜。
第一调节透镜330和/或第二调节透镜430可安装在第一红外光照射部300和/或第二红外光照射部400中,或者可位于第一红外光照射部300和/或第二红外光照射部400的外部,以调节红外光的照射范围和照射方向。
此外,按压部200可配置为具有平板结构。或者,为了防止由于红外光的散射而引起的能量损失,可在按压部中设置能够防止光的散射的结构。例如,第一红外光照射部300和/或第二红外光照射部400的相对表面可以是凹形的。在这种情况下,袋形二次电池壳体的相对表面可以是平坦的,或者袋形二次电池壳体的外表面可以是平坦的,而袋形二次电池壳体的内表面可以是凸形的。
图7是示出根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备的第三实施方式的示意图。
根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备包括多个第一红外光照射部300和多个第二红外光照射部400。
每个第一红外光照射部300的第一照射范围310设置为与相应一个第二红外光照射部400的第二照射范围410重叠至少一半或更多,并且第二照射范围410的不与第一照射范围310重叠的部分设置为与第三红外光照射部500的第三照射范围510重叠。多个红外光照射部可设置为具有与上述相同的模式,并且其照射范围可设置为彼此重叠,如图7中所示。结果,即使红外光的输出不高,也可执行快速密封,执行宽范围的密封并且提高密封力。
本发明提供了一种袋形二次电池制造方法,包括以下步骤:S1)将电极组件容纳在由包括外部树脂层110、金属层120和内部密封剂层130的层压片制成的袋形二次电池壳体中,袋形二次电池壳体包括电极组件容纳部和形成为围绕电极组件容纳部的密封部100;S2)将袋形二次电池密封设备设置在袋形二次电池壳体的密封部100上方和下方;以及S3)在使用第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400加热密封部100的同时,使用密封设备的按压部200按压密封部100,从而将密封部密封,其中第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400的照射范围可彼此重叠。
第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400的布置没有限制,只要其照射范围彼此重叠即可。作为示例,第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400可并排设置,或者可前后设置。
第一红外光照射部300和第二红外光照射部400引起金属层120的加热,使得内部密封剂层130被由此传导的热量熔融。在此,金属层120可由铝或铝合金制成。金属层120可通过红外光被加热到180℃至300℃。
图8是通过根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备密封的层压片的照片。
参照图8,使用PPM412作为红外光照射部,并且使用耐热玻璃(双硼硅酸盐,Doubleborosilicate)作为按压部。对于层压片,将切成60mm长度和30mm宽度的两个层压片设置成与红外光照射部分开大约150mm并进行密封。此时,在2.1kW的激光输出和60mm的宽度的条件下,对应于照射区域同时执行照射,并以0.1kW为单位改变输出值的同时执行密封。
如图8中所示,可以看出,在输出为2.3kW或更小的情况下,未充分地执行按压,从而未被按压的部分松动并且因而发生泛白现象,如图中的圆圈所示。另一方面,可以看到,在输出为2.4kW的情况下,所有部分均匀地粘附,从而没有松动的部分,因而没有发生褶皱。
虽然已经详细描述了本发明的具体细节,但本领域技术人员将理解,其详细描述仅公开了本发明的优选实施方式,因而不限制本发明的范围。因此,本领域技术人员将理解,在不背离本发明的范畴和技术构思的情况下,各种变化和修改是可能的,并且将显而易见的是,这些变化和修改落入所附权利要求的范围内。

工业实用性
根据本发明的袋形二次电池密封设备和袋形二次电池制造方法均匀地密封袋形二次电池壳体的密封部,从而增加密封力并且减少密封缺陷。
此外,至少两个红外光照射部的照射范围彼此重叠,从而层压片的金属层被快速加热并密封,因此生产率比现有技术更佳。
此外,由于使用红外光,所以仅需要的部分被快速且精确地加热,从而可减少对层压片的损坏,并且可使用具有各种输出范围的红外光,从而还可减少能量消耗。

Claims (12)

1.一种袋形二次电池密封设备,包括:
位于包括金属层的袋形二次电池壳体的密封部上方和/或下方的按压部,所述按压部由能够透射红外光的材料制成;
配置为向所述按压部照射红外光的第一红外光照射部;以及
配置为与所述第一红外光照射部的照射范围重叠地照射红外光的第二红外光照射部,
其中所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部向所述按压部的同一表面照射红外光,
其中所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部加热所述袋形二次电池壳体的所述金属层。
2.根据权利要求1所述的袋形二次电池密封设备,其中所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部中至少之一照射808nm至980nm波长的红外光。
3.根据权利要求1所述的袋形二次电池密封设备,其中所述按压部由石英透镜制成。
4.根据权利要求1所述的袋形二次电池密封设备,其中所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部中至少之一包括:
配置为照射激光的光源;以及
位于所述光源下方的调节透镜。
5.根据权利要求4所述的袋形二次电池密封设备,其中所述调节透镜是半圆柱形透镜。
6.根据权利要求4所述的袋形二次电池密封设备,其中所述调节透镜的面对所述光源的表面是凸形的。
7.根据权利要求1所述的袋形二次电池密封设备,其中所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部中至少之一具有80W/cm2或更大的输出密度。
8.根据权利要求1所述的袋形二次电池密封设备,其中所述金属层由铝或铝合金制成。
9.根据权利要求1所述的袋形二次电池密封设备,其中所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部设置在所述袋形二次电池壳体的所述密封部上方和下方。
10.一种袋形二次电池制造方法,包括以下步骤:
S1)将电极组件容纳在由包括外部树脂层、金属层和内部密封剂层的层压片制成的袋形二次电池壳体中,所述袋形二次电池壳体包括电极组件容纳部和形成为围绕所述电极组件容纳部的密封部;
S2)将根据权利要求1至9中任一项所述的袋形二次电池密封设备设置在所述袋形二次电池壳体的所述密封部上方和下方;以及
S3)在使用所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部加热所述密封部的同时,使用密封设备的所述按压部按压所述密封部,从而将所述密封部密封,其中
所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部向所述按压部的同一表面照射红外光,并且所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部的照射范围彼此重叠,
所述第一红外光照射部和所述第二红外光照射部引起所述金属层的加热,使得所述内部密封剂层被由此传导的热量熔融。
11.根据权利要求10所述的袋形二次电池制造方法,其中所述金属层由铝或铝合金制成。
12.根据权利要求10所述的袋形二次电池制造方法,其中所述金属层被加热到180℃至300℃。
