Description

Pigeon breeding family recording method
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of poultry breeding, in particular to a pigeon pedigree recording method.
Background
Pigeons belong to a couple of birds, and male and female pigeons are used together for hatching and feeding young pigeons. The pigeon also belongs to late-grown birds, and the squab which just comes out of the shell has no independent living ability and can survive only by feeding pigeon milk and preserving heat of the parent pigeon. One breeding cycle of a laying pigeon is usually about 33 days. Young pigeons mature sexually at 5 months age, and begin to have a spouse behavior, and after the pairing is successful, eggs begin to lay at about 6 months age. Laying 2 eggs in each nest, then starting hatching, after 18 days of hatching, the young pigeons are taken out of the shells, the parent pigeons are fed with the young pigeons, the young pigeons grow to about 15 days old, and the parent pigeons begin laying the next nest of eggs. The young pigeons are usually slaughtered for 28 days, and during the age of 16-28 days of the young pigeons, the parent pigeons are not only required to be hatched, but also are fed to the young pigeons. The laying pigeons are repeated in such a cycle before being eliminated, and the laying pigeons are all the year round. The male and female pigeons are difficult to identify through body type appearance and second sexual characteristics, and in order to realize separate breeding of the male and female pigeons during young pigeons and avoid premature self-matching, the sex of the offspring reserved for breeding is generally identified through a molecular method at the age of 10-15 days. Usually, the sex of offspring in one litter is one male and one female, and the sex of offspring in a litter is two male or two female.
In order to improve the production efficiency, production technologies such as artificial incubation, nurse pigeon production mode, 2+3 production mode, egg splicing and young pigeon production and the like are used in large-scale production of meat pigeons, but the production technologies cannot be used in pigeon breeding. Only by adopting a production mode of natural hatching and parent pigeon feeding for young pigeons, and no combination, the measured production performance can represent the self-reproduction performance and the growth performance (parent pigeon feeding capacity) of offspring of a pair of parent pigeons, and the measured data of the parent pigeons are comparable and can be used as a basis for selection.
The pedigree records of the breeding population and the core pedigree of breeding (seed protection) of the ancestor are used for the purposes of pedigree definition and convenience for offspring seed selection.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention provides a pigeon pedigree recording method in order to adapt to special breeding and physiological habits of pigeons, meet the requirements of pedigree recording and improve the efficiency of offspring seed selection and family establishment (pairing).
The invention provides a pigeon pedigree recording method, which comprises the following steps:
(1) pre-hanging a certain number of foot rings on each pair of parent pigeon cages before the subculture of the breeding pigeons starts;
(2) recording production information of each nest of breeding pigeons during subculture breeding on production recording paper, comprising: hatching date, offspring sex, offspring foot ring number, offspring 28-day-old body weight and the like;
(3) identifying the sex of offspring, weighing at 28 days old, and recording data on the production recording paper of parent pigeons;
(4) before transferring offspring seeds into a pigeonry, each individual is worn with a foot ring;
(5) after the breeding period is finished, the pedigree is registered in a pedigree recording table according to the data recorded on the production recording paper of the parent pigeons.
Preferably, in the step (1), the number of the foot rings is half of the expected number of remaining generations plus the number of offspring nests, if the result is odd, the number is increased by one, and the number of the foot rings is always even.
Preferably, the sequential number of the foot ring on the foot ring is Arabic numerals; the foot ring sequence numbers are sequentially hung backwards according to the cage number sequence of the parent pigeons.
Preferably, the sex determination of the offspring in step (3) is completed before 28 days of age.
Preferably, the offspring in step (4) can be worn after the sex determination, and the sequence of the order numbers of the foot rings is also required to be carried out when the foot rings are worn.
Preferably, when wearing the foot ring, the offspring in step (4) is worn with odd-numbered foot ring if the sex of the offspring is male, and worn with even-numbered foot ring if the sex of the offspring is female.
Preferably, when the offspring of a pair of parent pigeons in the step (4) wear the foot ring, if the offspring is continuously of a single sex, the foot ring with no corresponding sex in the middle is discarded.
Preferably, the pedigree record table in step (5) includes but is not limited to: parent pigeon male pigeon foot ring number, parent pigeon female pigeon foot ring number, offspring hatching date, offspring sex, offspring foot ring number, offspring 28-day-old body weight and the like.
The invention has the beneficial effects that:
(1) the pedigree recording method integrates various information, and not only can record the foot ring numbers of parents and offspring and the hatching dates of the offspring and clarify the relationship of blood relationship. But also increases the sex and weight information of the offspring at 28 days;
(2) according to the pedigree recording method, the male and female parents can be determined according to whether the number of the foot ring of the offspring is odd or even, forced pairing is facilitated after sexual maturity, and the pairing success rate is improved;
(3) when the family notation recording method is used for selecting offspring, the cage number and family number of the parent pigeons can be calculated according to the number of the offspring foot rings hung on each pair of parent pigeons and the number of the fixed parent pigeons of the family, so that the pairing of the close parents or the family can be avoided.
(4) When the pedigree recording method is used for establishing a later generation breeding population or a core family, the number of young pigeons which are slaughtered by parent pigeons in a certain breeding period can be visually seen, the weight of later generations in 28 days can also be seen, and the seed selection speed is greatly increased.
(5) After the breeding period of the offspring for seed is finished, the breeding performance of each pair of parent pigeons can be roughly judged by observing the number of the foot rings left on each pair of parent pigeons, and the more the residue is, the poorer the breeding performance is.
(6) When the pedigree is registered, the foot ring numbers of the offspring are arranged backwards according to the size sequence, and the foot ring numbers of each pair of parent pigeons and offspring are fixed in range, so that mistakes are not easy to make.

(2) The production record of each nest of breeding pigeons during the subculture breeding period comprises: hatching date, offspring sex, offspring foot ring number and offspring 28-day-old body weight.
(3) Collecting feather marrow from offspring at the age of 10-14 days, identifying sex by molecular method, and wearing foot ring when young pigeon at the age of 15 days turns from egg laying nest to bottom net.
The first nest of the parent pigeon of No. 1 is worn by a male pigeon with W070001 and a female pigeon with W070002; the male pigeons in the second nest wear W070003, the female pigeons wear W070004, and so on. The first nest of the parent pigeon of No. 2 is worn by W070017 on a male side and is worn by W070018 on a female side; the male pigeons in the second nest wear W070019, the female pigeons wear W070020, and so on. The first nest of the parent pigeons of No. 3 is worn by a male pigeons W070033 and a female pigeons W070034; and if two young pigeons in the second nest are public, one young pigeon wears W0700035, the other young pigeon wears W070037, the young pigeon wears W070036 and the like, and the rest is done in the same way.
(4) The young pigeons are weighed for 28 days old, and the data is recorded on the production recording paper of the parent pigeons. The young pigeons are transferred to a young pigeonry.
