The straw cat litter comprises 5-15 parts by weight of water-soluble adhesive, preferably 10 parts by weight of water-soluble adhesive. In the present invention, the kind of the water-soluble binder preferably includes food-grade starch, and the food-grade starch preferably includes corn starch.
In the invention, the grain size of the straw cat litter is preferably 1-6 mm. The water absorption rate of the straw cat litter in the crushed shape prepared by the method is 12g/g, no obvious fishy smell exists after the straw cat litter is continuously used for 15 days, and the straw cat litter can be dissolved in water and flushed into a closestool.

6. The straw litter of claim 1 wherein said straw litter has a moisture content of less than 10%.
7. A method of making the straw cat litter of any one of claims 1 to 6 comprising the steps of:
crushing rice straws to obtain rice straw powder;
and mixing the obtained rice straw powder with water and a water-soluble adhesive, and extruding the obtained mixture to obtain the straw cat litter.
8. The method of claim 7, wherein the mixture is extruded to produce a cylindrical and/or oval straw litter.
9. The method of claim 8, wherein the cylindrical and/or oval straw litter is shredded to provide a shredded straw litter.
10. The method of claim 8, wherein the cylindrical and/or oval straw litter is pan sanded to provide a round and spherical straw litter.
