本发明涉及一种快速响应液晶组合物及其应用,所述的液晶组合物适合应用于各种负型显示模式,包括VA、IPS、FFS等显示模式中,属于液晶材料技术领域。
背景技术
液晶是一种介于液体和固体之间的热力学的中间稳定物质形态,其在一定的温度范围内既有液体的流动性和连续性,又具有晶体的各向异性。
20世纪60年代,人们发现给液晶充电会改变它的分子排列,继而造成光线的扭曲或者折射,由此引发了人们发明液晶显示设备的念头。液晶显示器最早于20世纪70年代作为电子计算机和数字时钟显示器出现,随着技术的发展与进步,如今液晶显示器已经遍布人们的日常生活之中。
液晶材料作为液晶显示器重要的光电子材料之一,在改善液晶显示器的性能方面发挥着重要作用。作为显示用液晶材料,必须要求有较宽的向列相温度范围、较高的稳定性、适合的旋转粘度、以及对电场的快速响应。而这就需要将多种液晶化合物组合成液晶组合物,才能满足液晶显示材料的性能要求。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种快速响应液晶组合物,本液晶组合物具有低的旋转粘度和很快的响应速度,较大的负介电各向异性和适中的光学各向异性,具有较宽向列相温度范围,其性能优异。
本发明的另一目的在于提供上述负性快速响应液晶组合物的应用,非常适合应用于各种负型显示模式,包括VA、IPS、FFS等显示模式中。
为实现上述目的,本发明采取以下技术方案:
一种快速响应液晶组合物,包括通式A、B、C、D和E五种化合物组分,它们的重量百分含量分别为:A组分25%~35%、B组分1%~10%、C组分35%~45%、D组分9%~18%、E组分10%~20%,且各个组分的重量百分比之和为100%;
所述A组分为如下通式所示化合物中的一种或多种:

本发明快速响应液晶组合物中,按照重量百分比计算,A组分为26%~34%,更优选为28%~31%;B组分为1%~8%,更优选为1.5%~6.5%;C组分为36%~43%,更优选为38.5%~41%;D组分为9.5%~17%,更优选为10.5%~16%;E组分为11%~18%,更优选为11%~16%。
本发明的液晶组合物负介电各向异性低于-3.8,光学各向异性在0.094左右,清亮点温度在80℃左右,旋转粘度在90左右。
本发明中的液晶组合物具有较低的旋转粘度,而通过研究发现,降低液晶的旋转粘度对改善液晶分子的响应速度非常有利。
本发明中的快速响应液晶组合物可以很好地应用于负型显示模式的液晶显示器件中,负型显示模式包括VA、IPS、FFS等显示模式。
本发明的优点:
本发明中的液晶组合物具有大的负介电各向异性和适中的光学各向异性,具有较宽向列相温度范围,同时具有低的旋转粘度和快的响应速度,其性能优异,非常适合应用于各种负型显示模式,包括VA、IPS、FFS等显示模式中。
具体实施方式
本发明中,液晶组合物的制备均采用如下方法:采用业内普遍使用的热溶解方法,首先用天平按重量百分比称量液晶组合物中的各个单体,添加顺序先加入液体后加入固体,固体的添加无特定要求,在100℃条件下加热搅拌使得各组分熔解混合均匀,再经过滤、脱气,最后封装即得目标样品。除此之外,也可将各组分在有机溶剂中的溶液混合,所述溶剂如丙酮、氯仿、甲醇等,在充分混合后,再将溶剂除去,如通过蒸馏等,再经过滤、脱气、封装即可得到目标样品。
本发明实施例中,液晶组合物的组分为重量百分数,全部温度以摄氏温度给出。
所有项目均在室温(25℃)条件下测试得出数据。
在本发明实施例中,所测试的物理参数特性如下:
TNI:向列相-各向同性液体相转变温度[℃];
