Abstract

Technical Field
The invention relates to an experimental mouse excrement collecting device.
Background
Urine detection of mice is a relatively key physicochemical index. Therefore, collecting urine from mice is a critical step. The method for directly collecting animal metabolites by using a feces-urine separation device is a metabolic cage method.
The Chinese utility model patent ZL201310335359.X discloses a simple mouse metabolism cage, and the metabolism cage comprises a feeding area and a metabolism area, wherein the lower part of the metabolism area is net-shaped, a funnel is connected downwards, and a collecting pipe is connected downwards. The metabolism cage has simple structure and low cost, and can separate excrement and urine to a certain extent. However, the metabolism cage needs operators to put the mice from the feeding area to the metabolism area, and the operators need to pay attention to the metabolism area all the time; the excrement and urine are not completely separated, and the urine in the collecting pipe is easily mixed with the excrement; the whole device does not adopt a sealing measure, and the urine in the collecting pipe is volatile, so that the concentration of the urine component is changed.

The sizes of the sieve pores on the second baffle 4 and the third baffle 5 can be the same or different, and excrement can be prevented from falling off; when the aperture of the third baffle 5 is different from that of the second baffle 4, the diameter of the sieve pore on the third baffle is smaller than that of the sieve pore on the second baffle.

The box body 1 of the present invention may be made of a transparent material, or may be made of a mesh material. The water feeding device 8 and the feeding device 9 can be fixed on the side wall of the box body 1 through a mounting frame.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the second partition 4 and the third partition 5 are provided with handles 12, which are convenient for an operator to grasp with hands to pull out the second partition from the box 1.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the second barrier 4 and the third barrier 5 are provided with a baffle 13 on a side opposite to the handle 12. The baffle 13 blocks and collects the feces falling from the second and third partitions 4 and 5.
