Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a sliding door or window.
In particular, the sliding door or window according to the invention is of the type having at least two sashes, one of which is a fixed sash and the other of which is a movable sash, which can be moved in two directions on two different trajectories to open and close it.
Background
The types of sliding doors and windows at present are divided into:
-a sash sliding in two directions along a single linear trajectory and along a plane parallel to the plane on which the fixed sash lies and to the plane defined by the compartment engaging the door or window;
-a sash sliding along a first trajectory substantially transversal to the plane in which the fixed sash lies (during opening) and then along a second trajectory parallel to the plane in which the fixed sash lies to definitively bring the two sashes into overlap in the open configuration; the closing movement is opposite to the opening movement described above.
In the first case described above, the door or window has a fixed sash and a movable sash, which are positioned offset on two opening planes engaging with the door or window when the door or window is closed and opened.
In the second case mentioned above, which is of particular interest in this description, the door or window has a fixed sash and a movable sash which lie on a single plane in the case of closing the door or window, while the plane is doubled during opening of the movable sash.
This second type of sliding door or window comprises:
-a carrying frame having two uprights, a lower crosspiece and an upper crosspiece for defining a compartment;
-a sash secured to the frame for engaging at least a portion of a compartment defined by the frame;
-a movable sash having a lower movement unit and an upper movement unit associated with respective crosspieces of the movable sash and configured to move the sash from a closed position, in which the movable sash is positioned coplanar with the fixed sash to close the door or window of the compartment, to an open position, in which the movable sash is positioned alongside the fixed sash on a plane parallel to the fixed sash;
-at least one lower guide and one upper guide formed on the horizontal plane of the upper and lower crosspieces, respectively, of the frame and engaged with the moving unit of the movable sash; each guide comprises a rectilinear first section extending alongside the fixed sash on the free portion of the crosspiece and a second section connected transversely or in a curved manner to the first section and terminating coplanar with the plane of the fixed sash on the frame portion engaging the movable sash.
The movement of the movable sash according to the invention therefore has two separate trajectories: a first trajectory for moving away from (disengaging) or towards (engaging) the area of the compartment that is closed substantially transversely to the plane of the movable sash and a second trajectory substantially parallel to this plane.
Some prior art solutions of these doors and windows are shown in patent documents FR3011266 and WO 2012150819.
In these solutions, the movement unit comprises a carriage associated at the bottom with the lower crosspiece and equipped with at least one ball that is free to rotate on itself.
Typically, the ends of the lower rail have two carriages with corresponding balls.
In use, each ball is located within a corresponding guide as described above, the guide having a semi-circular cross-section for forming a hollow channel.
The use of the rollerball allows the movable sash to regularly slide along the two trajectories described above without excessive hindrance during the opening and closing of the movable sash.
The upper sliding unit is typically a protruding pin that engages with the upper guide, which can maintain the vertical nature of the movable sash during movement and at rest (opening and closing).
As mentioned above, the use of a ball allows a smooth and continuous movement of the movable sash, but this solution has certain drawbacks.
Currently, in practice, the carriage unit with the balls is rigidly fixed to the movable sash before assembling the sash itself on the frame already provided with the upper and lower guides.
After mounting the movable sash on the frame, if the relative positions between the balls and the corresponding guides do not coincide completely, it is necessary to remove the sash several times until the correct coupling is achieved between them, resulting in a slow overall assembly of the door or window.
Furthermore, over time, the use of guides with balls can lead to wear of the two parts (even if slight), which can lead to a deterioration of the sliding fluency, even to a slight shift of the position adopted during the assembly of the guides or balls, in which case the sliding fluency is also reduced.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a sliding door or window which overcomes the above-mentioned drawbacks of the prior art.
In particular, it is an object of the present invention to provide a sliding door or window which can be installed quickly and easily, while maintaining high-fluency kinematic characteristics.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a sliding door or window which can be adjusted in terms of the sliding parts in a simple and effective manner, even in the case of a sash mounted, so as to always maintain the fluency of the movement.
Said object is fully achieved by a sliding door or window according to the present invention, characterized in the appended claims.

Detailed Description
Referring to the drawings and in particular to fig. 1, a door or window according to the present invention, generally designated 100, is of the sliding type.
The sliding door or window 100 comprises a load-bearing frame 1 with two uprights 2 (vertical), a lower crosspiece 3 and an upper crosspiece 4 (horizontal) for defining an opening or compartment.
The door or window 100 comprises at least one sash 5 fixed to the frame 1 for engagement with a portion of the compartment defined by the frame 1.
The door or window 100 comprises at least one movable sash 6 having a lower and an upper movement unit 7, which are associated (horizontally) with respective crosspieces 6a of the movable sash 6 and are configured to move the movable sash 6 from a closed position (fig. 1) in which the movable sash 6 is positioned coplanar with the fixed sash 5 to close the door or window 100 of the compartment, to an open position (not shown here) in which the movable sash 6 lies alongside the fixed sash 5 on a plane parallel to the fixed sash 5, of the door or window 100; the door or window 100 further comprises at least one lower guide 8 and upper guide formed on the horizontal plane 3a of the lower rail 3 and the horizontal plane 4a of the upper rail 4 of the frame 1, respectively, and engaged with the moving unit 7 of the movable sash 6.
As shown, the upper and lower guides 8 each comprise a rectilinear first section 8a extending alongside the fixed sash 5 on the free portion of the crosspieces 3a, 4a, and a second section 8b connected transversely to the first section 8a and terminating on the plane of the fixed sash 5 on the portion of the crosspieces 3a, 4a that engages the movable sash 6 in the closed position (see also fig. 2).
At least the lower movement unit 7 comprises a wheel 9 in the shape of a sphere or ball.
As shown (fig. 3 to 7), the lower movement unit 7 comprises an outer first box-like body 10 configured to be stably connected to the lower crosspiece 6a of the movable sash 6.
The lower movement unit 7 comprises a wheel 9 in the form of a sphere or ball, which is located in a housing 11 of the first box-like body 10, to allow the ball 9 to rotate freely around itself and to make a portion of the ball 9 protrude downwards from the first box-like body 10.
As shown, the lower movement unit 7 comprises means 12 for adjusting the height position of the balls 9, which are positioned on the first box-shaped body 10 and act on the balls 9 to vary the distance of the balls 9 with respect to the lower crosspiece 6a of the movable sash 6 along the vertical axis Z or parallel to the upright 2 of the frame 1.
In other words, the height of the lower movement unit 7 can be adjusted by changing the position of the balls 9 (in contact with the guide 8) so as to move the sash 6 towards or away from the guide 8 (e.g. for improving the position or alignment of the sash 6 with respect to the frame 1).
As shown again, the lower movement unit 7 comprises means 24 for adjusting the balls 9 longitudinally, i.e. along an axis X parallel to the lower crosspiece 6a of the movable sash 6, which enable the position of the balls 9 to be varied with respect to the uprights 2 of the frame 1.
In other words, the lower movement unit 7 can be adjusted longitudinally by changing the position of the balls 9 (in contact with the guides 8), so as to move them towards or away from the uprights 2 of the frame 1 (for example, for correctly centering their position in the guides 8).
In the example illustrated, the spherical or ball-shaped wheel 9 comprises balls partially housed in a cylindrical unit 9a inside which there may be a plurality of sets of circulating balls.
It should be noted that the lower guide 8 has a hollow cross section with a semi-curved shape to partially house, in use, a portion of the wheel 9 in the shape of a sphere or ball.
It should be noted that the type of upper motion unit may be the same as the lower motion unit described above (and therefore not described further).
In this case, the upper guide may also be constructed in a similar manner to the lower guide 8.
Alternatively, the upper movement unit may comprise a vertical guide pin housed in an upper guide formed by a groove having the same path as the path with the two portions described above.
Preferably, there are at least two lower and upper movement units 8, each positioned close to a respective end of a crosspiece 6a of the sash 6.
Preferably, the ball 9 is partially housed inside a second box-shaped body 13 interposed between the ball 9 and the seat 11 of the first box-shaped body 10.
It should be noted that the means 12 for adjusting the height position of the balls 9 comprise a movement unit 14 positioned on the first box-shaped body 10 and configured to exert a thrust or reduce the contact with the second box-shaped body 13, when required, so as to move the second box-shaped body 13 along the vertical axis Z inside the first box-shaped body 10.
In view of this, the movement unit comprises a threaded shaft 14 housed (horizontally or longitudinally with respect to the extension of the first box-like body 10) in a through seat 15 of the first box-like body 10.
It should be noted that the threaded shaft 14 is connected at a first end to a plug 16 (located inside the first box-shaped body 10), the plug 16 having an inclined surface which makes stable (and frontal) contact with an opposite inclined surface formed on a radially enlarged portion 17 of the second box-shaped body 13, to allow sliding of the second box-shaped body 13 inside the seat 11 of the first box-shaped body 10 in both directions (and along the axis Z) by the action of the threaded shaft 14.
Preferably, the second end of the threaded shaft 14 is accessible from the outside of the first box-shaped body 10 through an area or opening 18 formed on the first box-shaped body 10.
Furthermore, the threaded shaft 14 is threadedly coupled with a threaded nut 19 positioned inside the first box-like body 10 to allow a correct and stable rotation of the threaded shaft 14 inside the through seat 15 of the first box-like body 10.
As shown, the second box-shaped body 13 has a unit 20 for stable connection with the first box-shaped body 10, which comprises an appendage 21 projecting from the second box-shaped body 13, this appendage 21 having a slot 22 for engagement with a pin 23 integral with the first box-shaped body 10.
It should be noted that the extension of the slot 22 is equal to the adjustment travel that the second box-shaped body 13 can make in both directions with respect to the first box-shaped body 10.
This configuration allows the second box-shaped body 13 to remain stably connected to the first box-shaped body 10, maintaining the correct vertical alignment with respect to the first box-shaped body 10, and also acting as an end of travel element between the two extreme positions that can be reached by the balls 9.
As mentioned above, the lower movement unit 7 also comprises means 24 for longitudinally adjusting the balls 9.
In view of this, the first box-like body 10 is divided into a first portion 10a fixed to the lower crosspiece 6a of the movable sash 6 and a second portion 10b slidingly associated with the lower crosspiece 6a of the movable sash 6. It should be noted that the balls 9 are accommodated on the second portion 10b of the first box-like body.
Preferably, the means 24 for longitudinal adjustment comprise a threaded screw 25 housed in a first through hole 26 formed in the fixed first portion 10a of the first box-like body 10.
The device 24 comprises a second blind threaded hole 27 formed on a contact body 28 located in the movable second portion 10b of the first box-shaped body 10 to allow the second portion 10b of the first box-shaped body 10, which houses the ball 9, to slide in both directions along an axis X parallel to the lower crosspiece 6a of the movable sash 6, by rotation of the threaded screw 25.
It should be noted that the threaded screw 25 is positioned above and parallel to the threaded shaft 14 for adjusting the height of the ball 9, to allow the corresponding necessary adjustment by a single area of the first box-like body 10.
In view of this, the free end of the threaded screw 25 can be used from outside the fixed first portion 10a of the first box-like body 10 through an opening 33 formed on the fixed first portion 10 a.
Preferably, the first box-like body 10 has a unit 29 for stable connection between the fixed first portion 10a and the movable second portion 10 b.
The unit for stable connection 29 comprises an appendage 30 formed on the outer surface of the fixed first part 10a, equipped with a slot 31 engaged by a pin 32 integral with the movable second part 10 b.
The slot 31 extends by an amount equal to the adjustment travel that the movable second part 10b can make in relation to the fixed first part 10a in both directions.
By means of this construction of the movement unit, the door or window according to the invention fully achieves the intended aim.
Each lower movement unit has a reduced size and is provided with two adjustment systems that can be used from the outside with the sash installed.
The double adjustment of the unit with the balls allows to correct in a fast and precise manner the position of the sash or balls with respect to the guide or frame, both in height and horizontally.
The presence of the adjustment system also makes it possible to solve the problems due to the wear of both the balls and the guides over time.
