The invention provides a nut defect detection method, which comprises the steps of connecting a nut feeder with a feed inlet of a nut detector, starting the nut feeder, separating nuts with specific sizes to a carrying disc of the nut detector through the feed inlet, driving the nuts to be placed below a CCD camera by the carrying disc, carrying out photographing, transmitting photos of the nuts into a display screen, displaying the shapes of the nuts without defects in the display screen, displaying the positions of the nuts with defects in the display screen through comparison with the nuts without defects, starting a manipulator to work, taking out the nuts with defects on the carrying disc, and uniformly collecting the rest nuts. The invention improves the working efficiency of nut defect detection and prevents the occurrence of nut detection mistakes and omissions in the detection process.
