It was found that brain waves (EEG) can help to evaluate and visualize the level of relief and relaxation experienced by the consumer during use of the mask. Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a macroscopic electrophysiological phenomenon expressed by the collective discharge of brain nerve cells in cerebral cortex, and is the most intuitive expression of the activity state of human brain. The study applied brain wave monitoring to brain wave changes during mask application to study the psychological impact of different masks on consumers.
EEG oscillatory activity can be divided into delta rhythms (delta <3Hz), theta rhythms (theta, 3-8 Hz), alpha rhythms (alpha, 8-12 Hz), beta rhythms (beta, 12-30 Hz), and gamma rhythms (gamma, 30-100 Hz). The delta rhythm (delta <3Hz), theta rhythm (theta, 3-8 Hz) are slow wave rhythms that typically occur when people feel relaxed, such as sleep or meditation. The beta rhythm is a fast wave that can be detected when mental concentration, thinking or processing external information, or when a person is excited, anxious or stressed.
Electroencephalogram data of low-frequency theta rhythm (4-7Hz) and high-frequency beta rhythm (14-30Hz) of T0 (1 min before mask application), T1, T4, T7 (0-1 min, 3-4min and 6-7min during mask application) and T10 (2-3 min after mask removal) are respectively extracted.
And through data analysis and integration of the subjective feedback result of the consumer and the heart rate measurement result, defining the ratio of theta/beta as a stress relaxation index. The larger the index, the more relaxed the brain.
The color of the brain map reflects the power of the brain electricity, and the power changes from blue to red from small to large.

The following is a content of the effect verification test example section.
1. Brain wave testing
Test samples: example 1
A 256Hz emottiv EPOC wearable brain wave sampler for recording brain wave (EEG) signals, the conductive solution being saline, the wireless EEG signal system consisting of 14 EEG signals according to the international 10-20 system, as shown in fig. 1. The heart rate of the experimenter was monitored during the test using a Yuwell YX303 pulse detector. The subject lies on the beauty chair to complete the whole test, the whole process closes eyes, does not need body movement, the test environment is quiet, the light is soft, the temperature is 22 +/-2 ℃, and the humidity is 55 +/-5%.
Prior to starting the experiment, the subjects were asked to clean their face and sit still for 20 minutes to acclimatize. After the subjects donned the device, they closed their eyes and lay down on a beauty chair for testing. During the test, subjects were asked to minimize swallowing, blinking, and other movements. The experimental environment is quiet and comfortable, and the activities of related personnel are reduced, as shown in figure 2.
Ensure that the subject is not disturbed. The staff helps the subject to apply and remove the mask. The entire brain wave test procedure is about 30 minutes as shown in fig. 3. The heart rate variation of the subject was recorded when the brain wave was tested. After collection of the EEG signals, subjects were asked to subjectively assess the use of the mask during the test. Each subject required testing of three different masks over several days.
The brain wave is an electromagnetic wave having energy. It has been calculated that each activation of a nerve cell produces a small amount of voltage, resulting in a current of approximately 1 milliamp. The power of the EEG is the square of the tiny voltage generated by the activation of these nerve cells.
As shown in fig. 4-6, EEG data of 5 samples of 12 subjects tested were analyzed, and EEG data of α (4-7Hz) and β (14-30Hz) bands of T0 (1 minute before mask application), T1, T4, and T7 (0-1 minute, 3-4 minutes, 6-7 minutes, and T10 (2-3 minutes after mask removal) were extracted for application of the mask to analyze EEG changes of subjects before mask application, at the beginning of mask application, during mask application, after mask application, and after mask removal.
To visualize and synthesize the neurophysiological changes of the subjects over five durations and compare the impact of different masks on the psychological relaxation of the consumers, the experiment defines the power of the α/β ratio as the relaxation index s (x). Relaxation exponent s (x) algorithm:
S(x)=Power(α)/Power(β);
s (x) represents the degree of relaxation of the subject when the mask is applied. Mean of 12 subjects brains.
The topography is plotted against the relaxation indices s (x) for each channel (fig. 6). The color of the brain terrain reflects the relaxation index of the electroencephalogram. The change in power from blue to red means the relaxation index.
Therein, example information is shown in table 3 below.
TABLE 3 detailed expressions and corresponding codes for different packet formulation systems
Grouping | Details of | |
Soothing formula | ||
672 | ||
Different formulation systems | High viscosity formulations | 961 |
(graphite mask cloth) | Formula of emulsifying |
368 |
Using the brain wave evaluation method described previously, the relaxation index s (x) was obtained from the extracted data for the duration before and after the mask was used (T0, T1, T4, T7), plotted for different mask formulations. As shown in fig. 7(a) and 7(b), the results indicate that as time increases after application of the mask, the relaxation index also increases, with 672 being the best, and increasing most significantly over time, indicating that the 672 formula group has a better relaxation effect than the other two groups of formula 368 and formula 961.
In the 672-formula group, a nerve soothing composition was added. The relaxation index s (x) is also higher after use of the mask and after removal of the mask (T1, T4, T7, T7) than before use of the mask (T0). Indicating that the relaxation of the mask was sustained.
2. Consumer heart rate test evaluation
Using a Yuwell YX303 pulse detector to monitor subject heart rate, studies have shown that when people are excited, their heartbeats accelerate, and when they are resting and relaxing, their heartbeats slow. On this basis, the heart rate of T0 was subtracted from each other's duration to obtain the variation in heart rate, and then the variation in heart rate from T1-T7 was averaged to obtain heart rate test data, as shown in FIG. 8. The heart rate decreased, which means that the mask was used to lower the heart rate, and the heart rate decreased more significantly in the 672 and 543 mask formula samples, indicating that the subject was more relaxed.
3. Consumer subjective assessment test
To further confirm the subjective feeling of the subjects using the mask, the subjects were asked to evaluate the overall satisfaction of the mask after the electroencephalogram test was completed. The satisfaction ranged from 1-9 points, very satisfactory was 9 points, particularly unsatisfactory 1 point, overall satisfaction of the subject, as shown in figure 8, highest overall satisfaction was 672, followed by 543 and 728.
In keeping with the brain wave evaluation results and the heart rate results of the previous application examples 1-3, it is shown that the evaluation method can verify that the nerves of the subject are relaxed and the subject feels more comfortable and relaxed during the use of the mask.
The above description is only a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and is not intended to limit the present invention in any way, so that any simple modification, equivalent change and modification made to the above embodiment according to the technical spirit of the present invention are within the scope of the technical solution of the present invention.
