Description

End fitting, system comprising an end fitting, and suction cleaning device
Technical Field
The invention relates to an end fitting for connection to a suction channel end region of a suction channel of a suction cleaning device, wherein the end fitting is designed in the form of a ring and has means for releasable connection to the suction channel end region.
The invention further relates to a system of a suction channel of a suction cleaning device and an end fitting which can be releasably connected to a suction channel end region of the suction channel.
The invention also relates to a suction cleaning device, in particular a household vacuum cleaner.
Background
Suction cleaning devices are well known in the art. Suction cleaning devices generally have a base device and an accessory device, such as a suction nozzle, connectable thereto. The suction cleaning device can be, in particular, a household vacuum cleaner, the base unit of which has an energy supply device, a motor fan device and a dust collection chamber. The motor fan assembly is used to draw dust and dirt into the dirt collection chamber. Different accessory devices, such as suction nozzles, motorized brushes, suction wiping kits or other components may be connected to the base device. The accessory device can be connected here via a connecting sleeve either directly to the base device or to the suction hose/suction pipe. The connection sleeve of the accessory device serves to accommodate the suction channel end region of the suction channel of the base device and/or the suction channel end region of the suction hose/suction fitting.
EP 0 666 051 B1, for example, discloses a vacuum cleaner having a suction channel with a suction line section on the end side, which is designed as a plug-in part of a suction line connection plug. The accessory device of the dust collector has a plug receiving part as a counterpart. The plug insert and the plug receptacle of the suction line connection plug have cross sections that are adapted to one another, so that the adapted plug elements can be connected to one another, wherein the two plug elements are oriented relative to one another. By means of the suction line connection plug, the adapted suction channel sections of the base device and of the accessory device are connected to each other, and the adapted electrical contacts of the base device and of the accessory device are also connected to each other.
The suction channel end region designed as a plug-in insert can likewise be used directly, i.e. without connection to an accessory device as a suction nozzle. The disadvantage here is that the sensitive surfaces can be damaged, in particular scratched, due to the harder material of the end region of the suction channel. Likewise, the end regions of the suction channels themselves are also subject to wear.
Disclosure of Invention
Starting from the prior art described above, the object of the present invention is to protect the suction channel end region in such a way that the suction channel end region can also be used directly for suction operation without damage, i.e. not connected to an accessory device.
The object is achieved according to the invention by an end fitting for connection to a suction channel end region of a suction channel of a suction cleaning device, wherein the end fitting is made of a soft elastic material in one piece by means of an injection molding process and has a connecting device on the end region for positive connection to the suction channel end region, wherein the soft elastic material is a thermoplastic and/or elastomer, and wherein the end fitting is designed to be placed externally on the suction channel end region such that the end face and the peripheral face of the suction channel end region are covered by the soft elastic material of the end fitting.
The end fitting according to the invention serves to protect the suction channel end region and is designed to be connected to the suction channel end region at the end side, in particular such that the end fitting forms an axial extension of the suction channel end region. The end piece thus functions as a suction nozzle made of a soft material, which can be fitted over the connection geometry of the end region of the suction channel. However, unlike conventional suction nozzles, the tip cartridge itself does not provide an operating device, in particular a grip region for the user to hold by his hand during the suction operation in order to guide the tip cartridge and/or the suction channel. Instead, the tip cartridge is not suitable for direct grasping and guiding by the user's hand due to the soft and resilient construction and the small size. If the end fitting wears out after a relatively long use of a relatively soft end fitting, the user may replace the worn end fitting as a wear member with a new end fitting. By virtue of the softness of the end fittings, the piece of furniture is protected, for example, during suction cleaning. The length of the end fitting in use depends on the strength and length of the material of the end fitting. If necessary, a flag for the user may be set indicating when the end fitting should be replaced. Such a marking may be designed, for example, according to the type of score, such as is known for tires.
The end fitting has a connecting device on a fitting end region, which in use is remote from the surface to be cleaned, which is connected to the suction channel end region in a form-fitting manner. The connecting means releasably retains the end fitting on the suction channel end region. The end piece and the suction channel end region have a suitable cross section, in particular in the connecting region, for example a circular ring shape, an elliptical shape, a polygonal shape or a free shape.
It is proposed here that the connection means are plug-in and/or latching means. The connecting device may in particular have elements of an annular clip. In principle, the end piece can either be plugged or snapped onto or into the suction channel end region. In the case of a snap-fit connection, the suction channel end region and the end fitting can have a snap-fit element, for example a projection and a recess adapted to the projection. The connection means need not be formed along the entire circumference of the end fitting or the end region of the suction channel. Instead, a plurality of individual snap-in elements can be arranged along the circumference. The annular locking element is particularly suitable for connecting devices, wherein the soft elastic material of the end piece allows a soft, curved design of the connecting device. The catch may have a projection, flange or hook which is form-fittingly inserted into a corresponding undercut. The force required for pressing in depends on the one hand on the engagement angle and on the other hand on the frictional resistance. The locking height cannot ultimately be changed by the deformability of the material of the end piece, wherein the locking height is smaller in the closed configuration than in a locking piece which is divided into a plurality of circular segments, for example by means of an axial longitudinal cut, which can be bent independently of one another.
It is proposed here that the soft elastic material is a Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Particularly preferred are materials which can be processed into end fittings by injection molding. By means of the material being as soft as possible, the sensitive surface is protected when in contact with the end piece, wherein the wear resistance of the material correspondingly decreases with increased softness.
According to a possible embodiment, it is proposed here that the tip end region of the tip end has a recess on the inner side, which recess extends in the circumferential direction on the end side, so that the material thickness of the annular tip section adjoining the end side of the tip end region is smaller at least in a circumferential partial region than the material thickness of the annular tip section adjoining it, which is spaced apart from the end side. In other words, this means that the end piece has an axially protruding projection on the end face of the end piece end region, which can engage in an adapted recess of the end region of the suction channel to be connected to the end piece. Since the recess of the tip end region is located on the inner side of the tip end, the projection of the tip end, when connected to the suction channel end region, protrudes beyond the suction channel end region from the outside at least in a circumferential partial region or along the entire circumferential path of the suction channel end region, so that the suction channel end region is protected from damage not only on the end side but also on the outer circumferential surface.
It may furthermore be provided that the tube head end region has a groove on the inner side, which groove extends in the circumferential direction, at least in a circumferential partial region. The recess of the end fitting serves, for example, as an element of an annular snap-in element for snapping into a corresponding partial region of the end region of the suction channel, so that the end fitting can be reliably connected to the end region of the suction channel. It is proposed here that the recess is formed along the entire circumference of the inner side of the end piece, so that an annular engagement is effectively achieved independently of rotation. If necessary, the recess can also be formed only in some circumferential sections, wherein if necessary additional seals are also required in order to connect the end piece and the suction channel end region to one another as tightly as possible.
It is furthermore proposed that the end fitting has an axial length of 5mm to 100mm. In particular, it is proposed that the end fitting has an axial length of between 10mm and 50mm. This length is suitable for the placement or construction of elements of the connection device, such as projections, grooves and the like, on the one hand, and on the other hand provides a sufficient service length/wear length of the end fitting, which service length/wear length enables the user to perform as long a work as possible with the end fitting before the end fitting is replaced due to wear.
In addition to the aforementioned end fitting, the invention also proposes a system of a suction channel of a suction cleaning device and an end fitting which can be releasably connected to a suction channel end region of the suction channel, wherein the end fitting is constructed as described above. The end piece of the system is correspondingly made of a soft, elastic material and has a connecting element on the end piece end region for a form-fitting connection to the suction channel end region of the suction channel of the suction cleaning device. The additional features, features and advantages described above in relation to the end fitting also apply correspondingly to the proposed system of aspiration channels and end fittings connected thereto.
In addition, it is proposed in terms of the system that the suction channel end region has a recess on the outside that extends in the circumferential direction on the end side, so that the material thickness of the annular suction channel section adjoining the end side of the suction channel end region is smaller at least in a circumferential partial region than the material thickness of the annular suction channel section adjoining it that is spaced apart from the end side. The suction channel end region is thus configured to be matched to the end-side end sleeve section in the region of the suction channel end section adjoining the end side, so that the axially protruding material projections of the end sleeve can engage in the end-side recesses of the suction channel end region, and the corresponding projections of the suction channel end region engage in the matched recesses of the end sleeve. In this way, a plug-in device and/or a snap-in device is advantageously achieved, which is provided with a connecting piece both at the end fitting and at the end region of the suction channel.
It is particularly preferred that the suction channel end region and the tip end region have essentially the same material thickness, so that in the connected state the suction channel end region and the tip end region are form-fitted and flush with one another and the inner side and the outer side of the suction channel end region and the tip end region are connected to one another without radial projections. In this way, a continuous continuation of the suction channel end region through the end piece can be achieved on the outer side and the inner side of the suction channel end region and the end piece. The same material thickness of the suction channel end region and the tip end region is in terms of the contact region of the end regions on the two sides on the end side, wherein the material thickness of the suction channel end region and the tip end region can then, for example, also expand or taper again starting from the end side. It is important that no step-shaped elevations, depressions or the like occur in the region of the contact point between the suction channel end region and the tip end region, which may also lead to damage to the sensitive surface. Furthermore, this embodiment is particularly advantageous in that the suction channel end region and the end fitting connected thereto are to be inserted into the connection sleeve of the accessory device. Due to the flush connection of the end piece to the end region of the suction channel, the end piece can be introduced together into the connecting sleeve of the accessory device without the force-transmitting surface of the connecting sleeve being brought into contact with the soft elastic material of the end piece. The force-transmitting surface of the end region of the suction channel is thus not replaced by the end fitting. Effectively maintaining a stable connection between the suction channel end region and the connection sleeve of the accessory device. In this way, the user can particularly advantageously retain the end fitting on the suction channel end region of the suction channel during use of the suction cleaning device with the accessory device.
Finally, the invention also proposes a suction cleaning appliance, in particular a household vacuum cleaner, having a system according to the invention, which system is formed by a suction channel of the suction cleaning appliance and an end fitting, which end fitting can be releasably connected to a suction channel end region of the suction channel. The advantages and configurations suggested in the end fittings and systems described above are correspondingly applicable to the suction cleaning device according to the invention.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 schematically shows a possible embodiment of a suction cleaning device 4 according to the invention. The suction cleaning device 4 is in this case in the form of a floor cleaner having a base device 24 and an accessory device 20 which are connected to one another by a suction hose 26 and a suction pipe 27. The suction channel 3 is guided in a suction hose 26 and a suction pipe 27 through which air can be sucked away from the surface to be cleaned by means of a motor-fan device. The suction channel 3 is connected on the end side to the connection sleeve 23 of the accessory device 20, i.e. is inserted into the connection sleeve 23. The accessory device 20 is here, for example, a floor nozzle with a suction opening 21 and wheels 22 for facilitating the movement of the accessory device 20 over the surface to be cleaned. The base unit 24 itself also has wheels 22 so that a user can push and pull the base unit 24 back and forth while sucking cleaning. The suction tube 27 may be telescopic, whereby the user may adjust the height of the handle 25 mounted on the suction tube 27 according to the user's height. A switch or the like can also be arranged on the handle 25, by means of which the user can switch the suction cleaning device 4 on or off or can select, for example, in terms of cleaning power or the like. During normal cleaning operations, the user guides the suction tube 27 back and forth over the surface to be cleaned together with the attachment device 20 connected thereto in order to pick up dust or dirt from the surface to be cleaned.
Fig. 2 shows the suction cleaning device 4 without the accessory device 20. The suction channel end region 2 of the suction channel 3 can be seen here. The end fitting 1 according to the invention is connected to a suction channel end region 2, which is described in detail below with reference to fig. 3 to 7. The suction cleaning device 4 can be used without the accessory device 20 as shown in fig. 2, by guiding the suction channel end region 2 over the surface to be cleaned via the connected end fitting 1.
Fig. 3 shows a three-dimensional view of the suction channel end region 2 and the end fitting 1. A seal 19 is also arranged on the outside on the suction channel end region 2. The seal 19 serves to compensate for movement play when the suction channel end region 2 is inserted into the connection sleeve 23 of the accessory device 20. The suction channel end region 2 is usually made of a hard plastic. The end sleeve 1 forms the part which is in contact with the surface to be cleaned, and the end sleeve 1 is made of a soft elastic material, in this case an elastomer, for example. It can be seen that the suction channel end region 2 and the end sleeve 1 have mutually adapted shapes.
Fig. 4 shows an end fitting 1 according to the invention. The end fitting 1 is in this caseSuch as having an inclined suction opening 28 whose opening plane is not oriented orthogonally to the longitudinal axis of the end fitting 1. The inclined suction opening 28 facilitates the handling of the suction channel end region 2 when in use. The end fitting 1 has a substantially oval base shape, which is cut along the longitudinal axis in fig. 4. The end fitting 1 has an inner side 7 and an outer side 18. On the end face 9 of the tube head end region 5 of the end tube head 1, which faces the suction opening 28, a recess 8 is provided in the material of the end tube head 1, which recess is part of a connecting device 6 for connecting the tube head end region 5 to the suction channel end region 2. Said recess 8 has a height H with reference to the radial direction of the end fitting 1 A The height H A The material thickness of the wall of the end fitting 1 on the end side is reduced in such a way that the projections 29 remain axially directed on the end side. The recess 8 and the corresponding projection 29 are arranged along the entire circumference of the end side 9 of the end fitting 1.
Fig. 5 shows a suction channel end region 2 of a suction channel 3, said suction channel end region 2 having a configuration adapted to the shape of the end fitting 1 shown in fig. 4. The suction channel end region 2 has an inner side 17 and an outer side 12 and an end side 14 for connecting the end fitting 1. A seal 19 is also arranged on the outer side 12. The wall of the suction channel end region 2 has a recess 13 on the end-side suction channel section 15. The depression 13 has a height Hs which corresponds to the material thickness of the end-side projection 29 of the end fitting 1. Unlike the recess 8 of the end fitting 1, the recess 13 of the suction channel end region 2 is arranged on the outer side 12 of the suction channel end region 2. In addition to the depressions 13, projections 30 are likewise retained on the end face 14 of the suction channel end region 2.
Fig. 6 shows the suction channel end region 2 in the assembled state with the end fitting 1. The recesses 8, 13 and the corresponding projections 29, 30 of the end fitting 1 and of the suction channel end region 2 are dimensioned in such a way that the outer faces 18, 12 and the inner faces 7, 17 of the end fitting 1 and of the suction channel end region 2 are connected flush with one another and the outer face 18 of the end fitting 1 does not protrude beyond the outer face 12 of the suction channel section 16 of the adjacent suction channel end region 2 in the joining region. The inner sides 7, 17 also merge flush with one another on the inside, without a shoulder forming between the end fitting 1 and the suction channel end region 2. By means of this embodiment, the suction channel end region 2 is inserted into the connecting sleeve 23 of the accessory device 20, as shown in fig. 7, with the end fitting 1 connected thereto, wherein the outer side 12 of the suction channel end region 2 rests against the force-transmitting surface of the connecting sleeve 23 and the stability of the connection between the suction channel end region 2 and the connecting sleeve 23 remains unchanged. The possible play between the connecting sleeve 23 and the suction channel end region 2 is compensated by the seal 19 of the suction channel end region 2, but not by the soft elastic material of the end fitting 1.
By means of the end piece 1 which is releasably arranged on the suction channel end region 2, the user can bring the suction channel 3 either for sucking dust and dirt directly from the surface to be cleaned or for connecting with the end piece 1 in order to protect particularly sensitive furniture or the like from direct contact with the relatively stiff suction channel end region 2. Furthermore, the suction channel end region 2 can be introduced into the connecting sleeve 23 of the accessory device 20 either together with the arranged end tube head 1 or the endless tube head 1. The end fitting 1 is guided in a particularly simple manner by the elasticity of the soft elastic material of the end fitting 1 through the end-side suction channel section 15 of the suction channel end region 2 until the end fitting section 10 of the end fitting 1, which end-side end section forms the projection 29, snaps into the recess 13 of the suction channel end region 2. Likewise, the suction channel section 15 of the suction channel end region 2 on the end side engages into the adapted recess 8 of the end fitting 1. The connecting means 6, which are formed by the matching recesses 8, 13 and the matching projections 29, 30, can likewise be released again simply by the user holding the end fitting 1 and the suction channel end region 2 and pulling them apart from one another.
Even though not shown here, the connection device 6 can likewise provide that the recess 8 of the end fitting 1 is formed on the outer side 18 of the end fitting 1 and correspondingly the recess 13 of the suction channel end region 2 is formed on the inner side 17 of the suction channel end region 2. In this case, the end-side suction channel section 15 of the suction channel end region 2 overlaps the end-side end tube head section 10 of the end tube head 1 from the outside.
