Abstract

The invention relates to an end fitting (1) for connection to a suction channel end region (2) of a suction channel (3) of a suction cleaning device (4), wherein the end fitting (1) is annular and has means for releasable connection to the suction channel end region (2). Suction cleaning devices are well known in the art. The suction cleaning device usually has a base device and an accessory device, such as a suction nozzle, which can be connected thereto. The suction cleaning appliance can be, in particular, a household vacuum cleaner, the base of which has a power supply device, a motor-fan device and a dust collecting chamber. The motor fan assembly is used to draw dust and dirt into the dust collection chamber. Various accessory devices, such as suction nozzles, electric brushes, suction wiping kits or other components, can be connected to the base device. The attachment device can be connected to the base device either directly or via a connection sleeve or a suction hose/suction tube. The connection sleeve of the accessory device serves to receive the suction channel end region of the suction channel of the base device and/or the suction channel end region of the suction hose/suction tube.
EP 0666051B 1, for example, discloses a vacuum cleaner with a suction channel, which has a suction line section on the end side, which is designed as a plug insert of a suction line connection plug. The accessory device of the vacuum cleaner has a plug receptacle as a counterpart. The plug insert and the plug receptacle of the suction line connection plug have cross sections adapted to one another such that the adapted plug parts can be connected to one another, wherein the two plug parts are oriented opposite one another. By means of the suction line connection plug, the adapted suction channel sections of the base device and of the accessory device are connected to one another, and the adapted electrical contacts of the base device and of the accessory device are also connected to one another.
The end region of the suction channel, which is designed as a plug-in piece, can likewise be used directly, i.e. without connection to an accessory device as a suction nozzle. A disadvantage here is that the relatively hard material of the end region of the suction channel can lead to damage, in particular scratching, of the sensitive surfaces. Likewise, wear of the end region of the suction channel itself also results.
Disclosure of Invention
Starting from the prior art described above, the object of the invention is to protect the end region of the suction channel in such a way that it can also be used directly for suction without damage, i.e. without connection to an accessory device.
The object is achieved according to the invention by an end fitting for connection to a suction channel end region of a suction channel of a suction cleaning appliance, wherein the end fitting is formed in one piece from a soft elastic material by means of an injection molding process and has a connection device on the fitting end region for form-fitting connection to the suction channel end region, wherein the soft elastic material is a thermoplastic and/or an elastomer, and wherein the end fitting is designed to be placed on the suction channel end region from the outside in such a way that the end side and the outer circumferential side of the suction channel end region are covered by the soft elastic material of the end fitting.
The end fitting according to the invention serves to protect the end region of the suction channel and is designed to be connected to the end region of the suction channel, in particular in such a way that the end fitting forms an axial extension of the end region of the suction channel. The end piece thus functions as a suction nozzle made of a soft material, which can be placed over the connection geometry in the end region of the suction channel. However, unlike conventional suction nozzles, the end fitting itself does not provide an operating device, in particular a grip area for guiding the end fitting and/or the suction channel during suction operation by the user's hand. Instead, the end fitting is not suitable for direct gripping and guidance by the user's hand due to the soft elastic construction and the small size. If the end cartridge wears out after a longer use of the relatively soft end cartridge, the user may replace the worn end cartridge with a new end cartridge as a wear member. Due to the flexibility of the end fitting, furniture, for example, is protected during the suction cleaning. The length of use of the end cartridge depends on the material strength and length of the end cartridge. If necessary, a mark for the user may be provided, which indicates when the end cartridge should be replaced. The end cartridge has a connection device on the cartridge end region, which in use is remote from the surface to be cleaned, which connection device is connected to the suction channel end region in a form-fitting manner. The connecting device releasably holds the end piece on the end region of the suction channel. The end piece and the end region of the suction channel have adapted cross sections, in particular in the connecting region, for example circular ring shapes, oval shapes, polygonal shapes or also free shapes.
It is proposed that the connecting device be a plug-in and/or latching device. The connecting device may in particular have an element of an annular snap-in piece. In principle, the end piece can either be plugged or snapped onto or into the end region of the aspiration channel. In the case of a snap-fit, the suction channel end region and the end fitting can have snap-fit elements, such as projections and recesses adapted to the projections. The connection device need not be formed along the entire circumference of the end piece or the end region of the suction channel. Instead, a plurality of individual snap-in elements can be arranged along the circumference. The annular snap-in element is proposed in particular for connecting devices, wherein the soft elastic material of the end fitting enables a soft-bending design of the connecting device. The snap-in element can have a projection, a flange or a hook, which engages in a form-fitting manner in a corresponding undercut. The force required for pressing in depends on the one hand on the engagement angle and on the other hand on the frictional resistance. The clamping height cannot ultimately be changed by the deformability of the material of the end cartridge, wherein the clamping height in the closed configuration is smaller than in a clamping element which is divided, for example, by means of an axial longitudinal section into a plurality of circular segments which can be bent independently of one another.
It is proposed that the soft elastic material be Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Particularly preferred are materials which can be processed into end fittings by injection moulding. By means of a material which is as soft as possible, the sensitive surface is protected when in contact with the end fitting, wherein the wear resistance of the material is correspondingly reduced with increased softness.
According to a possible embodiment, it is proposed that the head end region of the end head has a recess extending in the circumferential direction on the inner side, which recess extends in the circumferential direction on the end side, so that the material thickness of the annular end head section adjoining the end side of the head end region is smaller at least in a circumferential partial region than the material thickness of the adjacent annular end head section spaced apart from the end side. In other words, this means that the end fitting has an axially protruding projection on the front side of the fitting end region, which projection can engage in a matching recess of the suction channel end region that is to be connected to the end fitting. Since the recess of the tip end region is located on the inner side of the tip end, the projection of the tip end, when connected to the suction channel end region, projects from the outside beyond the suction channel end region at least over a circumferential partial region or along the entire circumferential path of the suction channel end region, so that the suction channel end region is protected from damage both on the end side and also on the outer circumferential surface.
It may furthermore be provided that the tube head end region has a circumferentially extending groove on the inner side surface at least in a circumferential partial region. The recess of the end fitting serves, for example, as a component of an annular clip for snapping into a corresponding partial region of the end region of the suction channel, so that the end fitting can be reliably connected to the end region of the suction channel. It is proposed that the groove be formed along the entire circumference of the inner side of the end cartridge, so that an annular snap-in is effectively achieved independently of the rotation. If necessary, it is also possible to form grooves only in some circumferential sections, wherein additional seals are then also necessary if necessary in order to connect the end piece and the end region of the suction channel as gas-tight as possible to one another.
It is also proposed that the end tube head has an axial length of 5mm to 100 mm. It is particularly proposed that the end fitting has an axial length of between 10mm and 50 mm. This length is suitable, on the one hand, for the positioning or construction of the components of the connecting device, such as projections, recesses and the like, and, on the other hand, provides a sufficient length of use/wear of the end cartridge, which length of use/wear makes it possible for the user to carry out as long a job as possible with the end cartridge before replacing it due to wear.
In addition to the above-described end fitting, the invention also proposes a system of a suction channel of a suction cleaning device and an end fitting which can be releasably connected to a suction channel end region of the suction channel, wherein the end fitting is designed as described above. Accordingly, the end cartridge of the system is made of a soft elastic material and has a connecting element on the cartridge end region for a form-fitting connection with the suction channel end region of the suction channel of the suction cleaning device. The aforementioned additional configurations, features and advantages with regard to the end cartridge also apply correspondingly to the proposed system of a suction channel and an end cartridge connected thereto.
In addition, it is proposed in terms of the system that the suction channel end region has a recess extending in the circumferential direction on the end side on the outer side, so that the material thickness of the annular suction channel section adjoining the end side of the suction channel end region is smaller at least in a circumferential partial region than the material thickness of the adjacent annular suction channel section spaced apart from the end side. In this way, the suction channel end region is formed in a manner adapted to the end stub section on the end side in the region of the suction channel end section adjoining the end side, so that the axially projecting material projection of the end stub can engage in the end recess of the suction channel end region, and the corresponding projection of the suction channel end region engages in the adapted recess of the end stub. In this way, a plug-in and/or snap-in connection is advantageously achieved, which provides a connection both at the end socket and at the end region of the suction channel.
It is particularly preferred that the suction channel end region and the tube head end region have substantially the same material thickness, so that in the connected state they engage each other in a form-fitting and flush manner, and that the inner and outer sides of the suction channel end region and the tube head end region are connected to each other without radial projections. In this way, a continuous continuation of the end region of the suction channel through the end tube head can be achieved in the end region of the suction channel and on the outer and inner side of the end tube head. The same material thickness of the suction channel end region and the tube head end region is in the case of the contact regions of the two end regions on the end side, wherein the material thickness of the suction channel end region and the tube head end region can subsequently, for example, also be expanded or reduced again starting from the end side. It is important that no step-shaped elevations, depressions or the like occur in the region of the contact point between the end region of the suction channel and the end region of the cartridge, which could also lead to damage of the sensitive surfaces. In addition, this embodiment is particularly advantageous if the end region of the suction channel and the end cartridge connected thereto are to be inserted into a connecting sleeve of an accessory device. Due to the flush connection of the end fitting to the end region of the suction channel, the end fitting can be inserted into the connection sleeve of the accessory device without the force-transmitting surface of the connection sleeve bearing against the soft elastic material of the end fitting. The force-transmitting surface in the end region of the suction channel is thus not replaced by the end fitting. A stable connection between the end region of the suction channel and the connection sleeve of the accessory device is effectively maintained. In this way, the user can particularly advantageously retain the end fitting on the end region of the suction channel during use of the suction cleaning device with the accessory device.
Finally, the invention also proposes a suction cleaning appliance, in particular a household vacuum cleaner, having a system according to the invention of a suction channel of the suction cleaning appliance and a terminal pipe head which can be releasably connected to a suction channel end region of the suction channel. The advantages and configurations suggested in the end cartridge and system described above are correspondingly applicable to the suction cleaning device according to the invention.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 schematically shows a possible embodiment of a suction cleaning device 4 according to the invention. The suction cleaning device 4 is designed here in the form of a floor cleaner with a base device 24 and an accessory device 20, which are connected to one another by means of a suction hose 26 and a suction tube 27. The suction channel 3 is guided in a suction hose 26 and a suction tube 27, through which air can be sucked away from the surface to be cleaned by means of a motor fan arrangement. The suction channel 3 is connected at the end side to a connection sleeve 23 of the accessory device 20, i.e. is inserted into the connection sleeve 23. The accessory device 20 is here for example a floor nozzle with a suction opening 21 and wheels 22 for facilitating the movement of the accessory device 20 over the surface to be cleaned. The base unit 24 itself also has wheels 22 so that the user can push and pull the base unit 24 back and forth during suction cleaning. The recesses 8, 13 and the adapted projections 29, 30 of the end fitting 1 and of the suction channel end region 2 are dimensioned such that the outer sides 18, 12 and the inner sides 7, 17 of the end fitting 1 and of the suction channel end region 2 are connected flush with one another and the outer side 18 of the end fitting 1 does not project beyond the outer side 12 of the adjacent suction channel section 16 of the suction channel end region 2 in the joining region. The inner sides 7, 17 also merge into one another flush on the inside, without a shoulder being formed between the end fitting 1 and the suction channel end region 2. By means of this embodiment, the suction channel end region 2 with the end cartridge 1 connected thereto is inserted into the connection sleeve 23 of the accessory device 20 as shown in fig. 7, wherein the outer lateral surface 12 of the suction channel end region 2 rests against the force-transmitting surface of the connection sleeve 23, and the stability of the connection between the suction channel end region 2 and the connection sleeve 23 remains unchanged. The possible play between the connection sleeve 23 and the suction channel end region 2 is compensated by the seal 19 of the suction channel end region 2, but not by the soft elastic material of the end fitting 1.
By means of the end fitting 1 which is arranged releasably on the suction channel end region 2, the user can let the suction channel 3 either serve for sucking dust and dirt directly from the surface to be cleaned or for connecting to the end fitting 1 in order to protect particularly sensitive furniture or the like from direct contact with the relatively hard suction channel end region 2. 3. End tube head (1) according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the soft elastic material is Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU).

End cartridge (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the cartridge end region (5) has a circumferentially extending recess (8) on the inner side (7) on the end side, so that the material thickness of an annular end cartridge section (10) adjoining the end side (9) of the cartridge end region (5) is smaller at least in a circumferential partial region than the material thickness of an adjacent annular end cartridge section (11) spaced apart from the end side (9).
5. End cartridge (1) according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the cartridge end region (5) has a circumferentially extending groove on the inner side (7) at least in a circumferential partial area.
6. End cartridge (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the axial length of the end cartridge (1) is 5mm to 100mm, in particular 10mm to 50 mm.
7. End cartridge (1) according to one of the claims 4 to 6, characterised in that the recess (8) or groove is configured annularly along the entire circumference of the end cartridge (1).

A system consisting of a suction channel (3) of a suction cleaning device (4) and of a tip cartridge (1) which can be releasably connected to a suction channel tip region (2) of the suction channel (3), characterized in that the tip cartridge (1) is configured as a tip cartridge according to one of the preceding claims.
9. The system according to claim 8, characterized in that the suction channel end region (2) has a circumferentially extending recess (13) on the end side on the outer side, so that the material thickness of the annular suction channel section (15) adjoining the end side (14) of the suction channel end region (2) is smaller at least in a circumferential partial region than the material thickness of the adjacent annular suction channel section (16) spaced apart from the end side (14).
10. System according to claim 9, characterized in that the suction channel end region (2) and the cartridge end region (5) have substantially the same material thickness, so that the suction channel end region (2) and the cartridge end region (5) in the connected state are form-fitting and flush in engagement with one another, and the inner side faces (7, 17) and the outer side faces (12, 18) of the suction channel end region (2) and the cartridge end region (5) are connected to one another without radial projections.
11. A suction cleaning device (4), in particular a household vacuum cleaner, having a system according to one of claims 8 to 10.
