技术领域

在本申请的以下内容中,会经常使用术语RFID(射频识别)标签。RFID标签含有至少两个部分:存储和处理信息以及调制和解调射频(RF)信号的IC(集成电路)和用于接受和发射信号的天线。标签信息存储在非易失性(non-volatile)存储器中。RFID标签包括用于分别处理传输和传感器数据的固定或可编程逻辑。本上下文中的RFID标签为UHF(超高频)RFID标签。
背景技术
众所周知的是用低成本UHF RFID标签为具有液体的金属圆柱体容器(例如饮料铝罐)加标签存在困难。这是因为金属容器反射和吸收RF波时会干扰标签天线。
本发明的目标
本发明的目标是提出包含UHF RFID标签的金属容器,其解决了上述问题。
发明内容
根据本发明和权利要求1的特征部分,在底端处布置包含集成电路和天线的UHFRFID标签,其中天线位于底表面的中心以上预定的距离处,使得底表面反射天线辐射并且由此延长天线的识读范围。

图1公开了可含有液体的基本上为圆柱形的金属容器1,例如铝饮料罐(例如,可口可乐罐)。这样的饮料罐的体积大小一般为330ml或500ml。容器1包含包封表面壁2、顶端和底端3。底端3具有由圆形凹面、抛物线底表面4和圆形围边5形成的腔室。

UHF RFID标签6通过胶附接至支承层10上,所述支承层通过胶附接至围边5的顶部上,使得天线8的位置与围边5的上端对齐。支承层10优选为PET膜,但本领域技术人员会意识到其它布置或层可将天线布置在抛物线底表面4以上的预定距离处,例如还可使用纸代替PET膜作为支承层。
天线的外直径8与围边5的内直径大约相同或更小。在容器1是饮料罐的情况中,天线的外直径8在约36-44mm的范围内并且优选为约42mm。
圆形天线8优选由覆盖有传导层的薄载体基底制成。本领域技术人员会意识到可使用不同的载体基底,例如,聚合物、纸、板、织物或非织造材料。此外,本领域技术人员会意识到可使用不同类型的传导层,例如,铝、铜、银、锡、铋或这些的合金。可通过蚀刻、喷墨印刷来施加传导层或任意其他合适的技术来施加传导层。
在优选的实施方式中,载体基底是约50μm厚的PET基底,其覆盖有约10μm的铝层。PET基底的相对介电常数为约3并且介电损耗正切为0.002。
天线在天线外缘附近具有半环形间隙9,在所述间隙中9载体基底未被传导层覆盖。间隙是天线结构的一部分并且用于使得天线的阻抗与集成电路的阻抗相匹配。
图3公开了在根据本发明将天线布置在饮料罐上时的UHF RFID标签天线8的识读范围的测试结果。从图中可以看出,天线的识读范围在ETSI RFID波段(865MHz–868MHz)远达约三米并且在FCC RFID波段(902MHz–928MHz)为5m。
本发明的益处在于天线8在抛物线底表面4以上的布置本质上延长了天线的识读范围。由于金属底面4的缘故,天线信号被反射离开容器。在饮料罐上施用本发明是尤其合适的,其中罐的铝底表面反射天线信号。
在上文中,已经基于一些特定的优选实施方式描述了本发明。然而,应当理解,在所附权利要求的范围内,其他实施方式和变型是可能的。例如,已经证明所公开的天线具有最佳的识读范围,但是本领域技术人员会意识到,其他形状和类型的天线也是可能的。例如,可使用小于凹形底部的螺旋形或偶极天线。
Claims (14)
