Description

Pharmaceutical composition for treating chronic osteomyelitis
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of traditional Chinese medicines, in particular to a pharmaceutical composition for treating chronic osteomyelitis.
Background
Chronic osteomyelitis is an infection and destruction of bones caused by aerobic or anaerobic bacteria, mycobacteria, and fungi. Chronic osteomyelitis occurs well in vertebrae; the foot of a diabetic patient or the site of penetrating bone damage due to trauma or surgery. The most common part of children is long bones with good blood supply; such as the metaphysis of the tibia or femur.
Infection is caused by blood borne microorganisms (chronic osteomyelitis of blood origin); spread from infected tissues, including infection of replacement joints, contaminating fractures, and bone surgery. The most common pathogen is gram-positive bacteria. Chronic osteomyelitis caused by gram-negative bacteria can be seen in drug addicts, sickle cell disease patients and severe diabetic or trauma patients. Lesions in patients infected with fungi and mycobacteria are often localized to the bone and cause painless chronic infections. Risk factors include wasting diseases, radiation therapy, malignancies, diabetes, hemodialysis and intravenous medication. In children, any process that causes bacteremia may induce chronic osteomyelitis.
Chronic osteomyelitis refers to an inflammatory disease caused by pyogenic bacterial infection of bone marrow, cortical bone and periosteum, mostly caused by blood sources, and mostly caused by trauma or surgical infection, and mostly caused by suppurative bacteria toxin of furuncle and carbuncle or other focuses entering blood to reach bone tissues. The extremities are most vulnerable to invasion, especially the hip joint. Repeated attacks are common in clinic, and the physical and mental health and labor capacity are seriously affected. Acute chronic osteomyelitis is characterized by high fever and local pain, and chronic osteomyelitis can result in rupture, pus discharge, dead bone or cavity formation. Serious patients are often life-threatening, sometimes the emergency approach of amputation has to be taken, resulting in the life-long disability of the patient.
The current method for treating chronic osteomyelitis is mainly surgical treatment, and the most common treatment method at present comprises thorough focus clearing, open cancellous bone grafting and repeated flushing. However, surgical treatment is risky and costly. The traditional Chinese medicine is from nature, has no toxic or side effect and takes effect quickly. Therefore, the development of a medicine for helping a patient to get rid of the pain caused by the chronic osteomyelitis is urgently needed.
