Description

Package for products of the cigarette industry
Technical Field
The invention relates to a pack for products of the cigarette industry, which is designed as a lid box and has at least one lid part and one box part, which are formed from an outer blank and are connected to one another pivotably around a hinge to form an outer package, and which is designed to accommodate pack contents of a size smaller than the inner space of the pack, and which are arranged in an inner package made from an inner blank, which at least partially surrounds the pack contents on several sides.
The invention also relates to a corresponding method for manufacturing such a package.
Background
Packages of the type mentioned at the outset are known, for example, from WO 2016/012907 A1. This document shows a lid box for containing a group of cigarettes as package contents. As is usual in lid packs, when the pack is closed, the group of cigarettes is arranged parallel to the bottom wall, or the longitudinal axis of the individual cigarettes of the group of cigarettes is parallel to the plane of the bottom wall of the box portion of the lid pack. The group of cigarettes is surrounded by an inner wrapping in the form of a collar. In terms of available width, the group of cigarettes or the inner package does not fill the inner space of the lid box. In order to compensate for the different sizes, filler bodies are provided on the cover box on both sides of the cigarette groups, said filler bodies being assigned to the box part or the cover part or both.
The packs shown in the prior art are complicated to produce by the filling bodies and can only be produced at high cost by means of conventional packaging machines.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of this, the object of the invention is to improve a package of the type mentioned at the outset, in particular with regard to improving the manufacturability.
In order to solve this task, a pack for products of the cigarette industry according to the invention is provided, which is configured as a lid pack and has an outer package and an inner package made of an inner blank, the outer package having at least one lid part and one box part, which are formed from the outer blank and are pivotably connected to one another around a hinge to form the outer package, and the outer package being configured for accommodating package contents of a size smaller than the inner space of the outer package, and the package contents being arranged in the inner package, which at least partially surrounds the package contents on a plurality of sides, the upper side of the outer package being completely formed by a lid wall of the lid part and completely covering the inner package arranged in the box part in the closed state of the outer package. The package contents to be accommodated have a smaller depth than the inner space of the outer package and the inner package is designed to compensate for the smaller dimensions, the rear wall of the inner package being arranged in abutment on the bottom wall of the box portion, which bottom wall is arranged adjacent to and parallel to the rear wall of the inner package, and a lamination is arranged on the side of the rear wall of the inner package facing away from the bottom wall of the box portion to at least partially compensate for the depth of the package contents, the rear wall of the inner package extending over the entire length of the inner space of the outer package. The laminate is folded about a transversely oriented folding line into a filling body adjacent to the rear wall, which does not extend over the entire length of the inner package or the package contents, but only over a partial region, so that the package contents lying against the filling body are oriented obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the package or the inner package and are held between the filling body and the front wall of the inner package.
Thus, in contrast to WO 2016/012907 A1, the compensation of the dimensions is not carried out by an outer package, but by an inner package. In addition, the dimensions differ in depth rather than width.
Accordingly, it can be provided that the rear wall of the inner package is arranged spaced apart from the bottom wall of the box portion, which is arranged adjacent to the rear wall of the inner package and preferably parallel thereto, and that a lamination is provided on the inner blank to compensate for the dimension, by means of which lamination the inner package rests on the bottom wall of the box portion. The inner package may be supported in the outer package by said laminate.
In a preferred embodiment of the package, it can be provided that the narrow side walls of the inner package are formed by side flaps of the inner blank, which are oriented transversely to the rear wall of the inner package and project beyond this rear wall and bear against the bottom wall of the box portion. This can be a simple way for forming the support lamination, which can be achieved without fundamentally changing the design of the inner package.
In a preferred embodiment this can be achieved as follows: the narrow side wall is formed by an inner web and an outer web of the inner blank, which are connected to one another in a planar manner in contact with one another to form the narrow side wall, the outer web having a greater dimension transversely to the longitudinal extension of the inner blank than the inner web and the outer web projecting beyond the rear wall of the inner package.
Further support may be achieved as follows: the bottom wall of the inner package is formed as a laminate with the bottom wall and the supporting flaps arranged transversely to the rear wall of the inner package and projecting beyond the rear wall and resting against the bottom wall of the box portion.
In a preferred embodiment this can be achieved as follows: the support flap is formed by a preferably U-shaped stamped cut-out in the rear wall of the inner blank adjoining the bottom wall.
A further feature can be that the cover web, which is arranged transversely to the rear wall and by means of which the inner package rests against the bottom wall of the box part, adjoins the rear wall of the inner package as a flap.
In a preferred embodiment this can be achieved as follows: between the rear wall of the inner package and the bottom wall of the box portion a cavity is formed, which is preferably completely covered by the cover tab for the consumer. In this way, the cover flap has the advantageous dual function of supporting the inner package on the one hand and covering the cavity on the other hand.
Preferably, it can also be provided that a rear tab adjoins the cover tab as a flap, which rear tab is arranged transversely to the cover tab and which rear tab abuts the bottom wall of the box part and is preferably adhesively connected to the bottom wall.
According to an advantageous variant of the invention, it can be provided that the rear wall of the inner package is arranged in abutment on a bottom wall of the box portion, which bottom wall is arranged adjacent to and preferably parallel to the rear wall of the inner package, and that the laminate is arranged on the inner blank to at least partially compensate for the dimension.
In a preferred embodiment of the package, it can be provided that a plurality of flaps are provided on the inner blank opposite the bottom wall of the inner package, which flaps are folded about transversely oriented folding lines into a filling body adjacent to the rear wall, which filling body does not extend over the entire length of the inner package or the package contents, but rather only over a partial region, so that the package contents resting on the filling body are oriented obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the package or the inner package and are held between the filling body and the front wall of the inner package.
In a preferred embodiment this can be achieved as follows: the filling body is arranged on one end side of the inner packaging in the region of the removal opening and covers the different dimensions.
Another feature can be that the sheet metal folded into the filling body is held in its filling body forming position by a positive connection, in particular by the engagement of a latching device formed in the inner blank. In this way, the use of additional connecting means for the packing laminate is at least partially avoided.
In a preferred embodiment of the package, it can be provided that a support wall of the inner package is arranged parallel to the rear wall of the inner package, which support wall rests flat against the package contents and is supported by the transversely oriented web on the rear wall of the inner package.
In a preferred embodiment this can be achieved as follows: the rear wall and the supporting wall of the inner package are connected to one another by a web of the inner blank, which is oriented transversely to the supporting wall and the rear wall and covers the distance between the supporting wall and the rear wall or the cavity formed between the supporting wall and the rear wall at the end when the package is opened for the consumer.
Preferably, the inner package has a front wall, which preferably has an edge-side recess for removing the package contents, which front wall is arranged parallel to the lid wall of the lid part and rests against the inner side of the lid wall when the package is closed.
Preferably, it can also be provided that the outer blank for forming the lid part and the box part is constructed in one piece.
Preferably, it can also be provided that the inner blank for forming the inner package is of one-piece design.

Detailed Description
The invention is described below with reference to various variants of a package 10 for cigarettes. In all the variants, the pack 10 is of the lidded box type, in which the cigarettes are arranged lying flat.
The packaging 10 has a (lower) box part 11 and a (upper) cover part 12, respectively, which are pivotably connected to one another in the region of a line hinge 13. The packaging 10 also has a large-sized top side 14, a correspondingly opposite bottom side 15 and four (upright) sides connecting the top side 14 and the bottom side 15 to one another, namely two short, mutually opposite transverse sides 16, 17 and two long, likewise mutually opposite longitudinal sides 18, 19.
Said longitudinal sides 18, 19 and one transverse side 17 are formed by the box portion 11 and the cover portion 12, respectively, so that they have respective cover longitudinal side walls 20 and box longitudinal side walls 21 and respective cover transverse side walls 22 and box transverse side walls 23. The upper side 14 is formed by a cover wall 24 of the cover part 12 and the opposite lower side 15 is formed by a bottom wall 25 of the box part 11.
In the present embodiment, the wire hinge 13 is arranged such that the lateral side 16 is formed by only one lid lateral side wall 26. The wire hinge 13 is thus arranged between the bottom wall 25 and the lid lateral side wall 26. It goes without saying that the lateral side 16 can also be formed partially or completely by a lateral side wall of the box if the wire hinge 13 is moved correspondingly and at a distance from the bottom wall 25.
The box portion 11 and the lid portion 12 together form an outer package 27 having an inner space for accommodating the package contents. In the present case, a group of cigarettes 28 is provided as package content, which is arranged in an inner package 29. As shown in fig. 2, group 28 of cigarettes may be surrounded by an inner wrap.
In addition to housing group 28 of cigarettes, inner package 29 also has another important task, namely to compensate for the different dimensions. In all the embodiments shown, group 28 of cigarettes has a smaller depth than the inner space of outer package 27, and therefore, if no countermeasures are taken, it will not be ensured that (the entire) group 28 of cigarettes remains in outer package 27 in compliance (until the first cigarette is removed).
In the context of the present application, "different dimensions" are understood to mean those differences which exceed the normal clearance and/or the usual dimensional tolerances between the packaging components in the cigarette packs.
The three embodiments shown in the drawings are described below in sequence, with like parts being indicated with like reference numerals. Only the first embodiment is described in its entirety, while in other embodiments only the differences from the first embodiment or from one or more of the preceding embodiments are described.
Example 1: FIGS. 1 to 9
The outer package 27 shown in fig. 1 to 4 is formed from an integral outer blank 30 according to fig. 6. The respective inner package 29 is also formed from a separate inner blank 31 according to fig. 5. Both blanks 30, 31 are formed in a longitudinally wrapped manner with successive walls in the longitudinal direction for the side walls and transversely oriented laminations.
The inner blank 31 has a front wall 32, an adjoining bottom wall 33, a rear wall 34 adjoining the bottom wall, a cover tab 35 adjoining the rear wall, and a rear tab 36 adjoining the cover tab.
On both sides of the front wall 32 and the rear wall 34, side tabs 37, 38 are provided, respectively, which together form the side walls of the inner package 29. It is important here that the pair of side tabs 37 have a greater width or depth than the side tabs 38. This will be described in detail later.
Corner tabs 39 are provided on either side of the bottom wall 33. A conventional recess 40 is provided at the front end of front wall 32 to facilitate removal of the cigarettes from inner package 29.
A tongue 41 for braking the lid, which is formed by punching, is formed near the transition from the front wall 32 to the bottom wall 33.
A supporting limb 43, which is in the present case U-shaped, is formed by a further stamped-out part 42 arranged in an overlapping manner on the bottom wall 33 and the rear wall 34. Of course, other shapes are possible.
Decorative and/or information printing graphics 44 may be provided on the front wall 32.
The outer blank 30 has a lid wall 45, a transverse wall 46 laterally adjacent thereto, and a bottom wall 47 connected by a line hinge 13. An inner tab 48 and an outer tab 49 are provided on both sides of the lid wall 45 and the bottom wall 47 to form a double-layered longitudinal side wall 21 of the box. On both sides of the transverse wall 46, cover corner tabs 50 are provided. In the inner web 48, a detent opening 51 is provided, which is formed by stamping, of the tongue 41 for the detent of the cover.
Outer and inner cross tabs 52 and 53 abut the end sides of lid wall 45 and bottom wall 47, respectively, to form double-walled box lateral side wall 23. On both sides of the outer transverse web 52, corner webs 54, 55 are provided. The inner tab 56 is connected to the inner cross tab 53 adjacent the lid wall 45.
In the drawings showing an unfolded, unfolded blank, the thick lines represent the edges formed by stamping, while the thin lines represent the fold lines. The dashed lines indicate fold lines formed by perforations.
As with the front wall 32, decorative and/or information printing 44 may be provided on the inside and/or outside of the cover wall 45, the bottom wall 47 and the inner tab 56.
The inner and outer blanks 31, 30 are folded as shown. The double wall is formed in the outer wrapper 27, i.e. in the region of the upper side 14 by the inner tab 56 and the lid wall 45, in the region of the longitudinal sides 18, 19 by the inner tabs 48, 49 and in the region of the transverse sides 17 by the outer transverse tab 52 and the inner transverse tab 53.
Inner blank 31 rests with a front wall 32, a bottom wall 33 and a rear wall 34 on group 28 of cigarettes. The cover tab 35 is folded transversely to the rear wall 34, and the rear tab 36 is also folded transversely to the cover tab 35 and rests against the bottom wall 47 of the outer wrapper 27 (fig. 9).
Furthermore, the inner package 29 rests with the longer (outer) side webs 37 and with the support flaps 43 on the bottom wall 47. In this way, the inner package 29 or the folded inner blank 31 compensates for the smaller depth of the group 28 of cigarettes. In addition, the cavities formed on the rear side or lower side of the group 28 of cigarettes are covered on the upper side by means of a covering tab 35.
Fig. 7, 8 and 9 show by way of example the arrangement of glue spots 57 for connecting the lid wall 45 and the inner tab 56, as well as for connecting the inner package 29 and the outer package 27 in the region of the side tabs 37 and the inner side tabs 48, for connecting the bottom wall 33 and the inner transverse tabs 53, and for connecting the rear tabs 36 and the bottom wall 47. It goes without saying that additional glue sites can also be provided elsewhere or that glue sites in certain locations can also be dispensed with.
Fig. 7 and 8 also show features relating to the dimensions of the various blank sections:
the length (dimension X) of the inner tab 38 of the inner wrapper 29 corresponds approximately to the height of the group 28 of cigarettes or the net inner height of the inner wrapper 29.
The length (dimension Y) of the outer flap 37 of the inner package 29 corresponds approximately to the clear inner height of the outer package 27.
Furthermore, fig. 7 and 9 show that the bottom wall 33 and the supporting flap 43 together are just as high as the outer tab 37.
Example 2: FIGS. 11, 13 and 14
In the second exemplary embodiment, a variant of the inner blank 58 is used, while the outer blank 30 or the outer package 27 corresponds to the first exemplary embodiment.
In the longitudinal direction of the inner blank 58 are a front wall 32, a bottom wall 33 and a rear wall 34 in that order. As in the first embodiment, lateral tabs 37, 38 (but of the same width or depth) and corner tabs 39 are provided on the sides. The supporting tabs 43 provided in the first embodiment are absent. A cover web 35 and three further lamellae 59, 60, 61 are connected to the rear wall 34. The covering tab 35 and the two subsequent laminations 59, 60 have the same width as the rear wall 34. The last lamination 61 has two lateral locking tongues 62 configured for embedding in two slots 63 formed by stamping in the transition between the rear wall 34 and the side tabs 38.
The folding of the inner package 29 can be seen in fig. 13 and 14. The rear wall 34 does not rest on the group 28 of cigarettes, but on the bottom wall 25 of the pack 10 (bottom wall 47 of the outer package 27). The cover tab 35 is folded transversely to the rear wall 34 and, as in the first exemplary embodiment, covers a cavity, which is formed in this case in the interior of the inner package 29.
By means of the three subsequent laminations 59, 60, 61, a filling body 68 is formed in the interior of the inner packaging 29, which is stabilized by the engagement of the locking tongue 62 in the slot 63.
In this way, the offset dimension is compensated for by the filler 68. However, in the exemplary embodiment shown, this only takes place in the head region of the pack 10, i.e. in the region of the recess 40, so that the group 28 of cigarettes is arranged slightly obliquely in the inner packet 29.
Example 3: FIGS. 12, 15 and 16
In the third embodiment, only the inner blank member 64 is changed. The inner blank is constructed similarly to the inner blank 58 of the second embodiment and has a front wall 32, a bottom wall 33, a rear wall 34 and a cover tab 35 connected in series. Connected to the covering tab 35 is a support wall 65 which has laterally directed side tabs 66. Two support tabs 67, which are formed by punching, are provided in each case in the transition from the support wall 65 to the two side webs 66.
As in the first embodiment, group 28 of cigarettes is positioned horizontally in inner package 29, but is supported on supporting walls 65. The rear wall 34 extends along the bottom wall 47 and merges into a transversely oriented cover web 35, which covers the cavity between the support wall 65 and the rear wall 34. The support wall 65 is supported on the rear wall 34 by support flaps 67 folded transversely to the support wall 65.
Example 4: not shown in the drawings
In an embodiment which is not shown in the figures, the cavity can be arranged outside the inner wrapper 29, similar to the first embodiment, but not only on one side (underside) of the inner wrapper 29, but also in the upper region of the inner wrapper 29.
Manufacturing method for example 1 corresponding to FIG. 10
In a preferred manufacturing method, the outer package 27 and the inner package 29 are folded independently of one another and subsequently combined. Where the supply of the package contents is integrated into the folding process of the inner package 27.
When folding the inner package 27, the side flaps 38 on both sides of the rear wall 34 are folded or erected by 90 ° in a first folding step starting from the unfolded inner blank.
In a next step, the corner tab 39 is folded by 90 °.
The front wall 32 is then erected 90 ° and the cover tab 35 together with the rear tab 36 is folded down 90 °.
The package contents are then introduced and the rear tab 36 is then folded 90 ° again.
The front wall 32 is then folded down again by 90 ° and the side tabs 37 are pivoted into the plane of the side walls.
The overwrap 27 is then folded over.
When folding the outer package 27, the side tabs are first folded in the flattened outer blank 30, i.e. the inner tabs 48 are folded 180 ° onto the outer tabs 49.
In a next folding step, the transverse wall 46 is erected 90 ° with respect to the cover wall 45 and the bottom wall 47 is folded back 90 ° so that the bottom wall 47 and the cover wall 45 are arranged in two (folded) planes parallel to one another.
In this way, the outer blank 30 is folded in steps and has two flat faces, in which on the one hand a bottom wall 47 with matching laminations and on the other hand a cover wall 45 with matching laminations and an inner lamination 56 are provided. The two planes are connected by a transverse wall 46.
In the next folding step, the lid corner tab 50 is folded by 90 °.
The side tabs formed by the inner and outer side tabs 48, 49 are then erected and connected with the lid corner tabs 50.
In a next step, the corner tabs 54, 55 are folded by 90 °.
The outer transverse tabs 52, 53 are then folded and the inner tab 56 is folded over and connected to the lid wall 45. The corner tabs 54, 55 are also clipped on folding the outer cross tabs 52, 53 and the inner tab 56.
The inner package 29 is then supplied and the package 10 is closed by closing the lid portion 12.
The described folding process is generally an advantageous solution. It is particularly important that the corner tabs 54, 55 are clamped between the outer and inner cross tabs 52, 53 before the inner package 29 is supplied. The same applies to the sequence of erecting the lid gusset 50 before erecting the side gusset.
It is also an important advantage to arrange the outer blank 30 in two stepwise offset folding planes. In this way there is sufficient space for the necessary folding tools. It goes without saying that the folding of the lid part 12 and/or the box part 11 can also take place in a vertical or inclined plane.
