Description

Package for cigarettes
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a package for cigarettes.
Background
Emphasis is placed on cigarette packs designed as sealed packs. The sealing film preferably surrounds the group of cigarettes formed in the row, which comprises a plurality of rows, preferably three rows, of cigarettes, on the pillow pack principle. The closing and connecting seams are constructed in multiple layers, in particular as fin folds with fins folded onto the (film) wall of the package.
Within the film wrapper is a holding or support mechanism which at least partially surrounds the group of cigarettes. The support means, i.e. the inner collar, can be constructed in a simple manner as a Tray (Tray). The cup-shaped configuration of the inner collar is advantageous. In particular, durability is achieved in the case of a cup-shaped inner collar, the walls of which, i.e., at least the front and rear collar walls, extend over (approximately) the entire size or length of the cigarette group.
Examples of film packs or pillow packs with an inner collar are known from prior art WO 2011/009520 a1 and WO 2011/01172 a 1. The film packs, i.e. the sealing blocks, which are designed in a known or described manner are usually accommodated in a dimensionally stable outer packaging, in particular in (conventional) hinge-lid or hinged-lid boxes as outer packaging.
The special configuration of the film package or the sealing block (especially based on a closed or sealed seam on the one hand and a complex inner collar design on the other hand) may result in that the inner package formed by the sealing block cannot be inserted without squeezing into an outer package of standard dimensions, especially a clamshell box, due to the stacking of stacked or side-by-side material layers.
Disclosure of Invention
The task of the invention is therefore to: in the case of packages of the above-mentioned type which are multi-layered in a plurality of individual regions, the outer dimensions of the film or sealed package are limited or coordinated with an outer package having standard dimensions. In order to solve this object, a pack for cigarettes according to the invention is constructed having a sealed pack constructed as a film pack in which the cigarettes are contained as an aligned cigarette group, having side seams, which are constructed as sealed seams and are arranged on upright narrow film side walls, which are at least partially constructed in multiple layers, and an inner sleeve, which is a support or retaining means and which at least partially surrounds the cigarette group, being arranged in the sealed pack, wherein the inner sleeve arranged in the sealed pack has overlapping side laminates, i.e. overlapping side laminates, in the region of the film side walls, wherein each outer side laminate has a recess or a cut-back in each case in the region of a material thickening of the sealed pack, so that free space is formed next to the outer side laminate in each case for receiving a corresponding material thickening of the sealed pack, which is formed on the basis of the respective side seam, the associated side seams of the sealed package are at least partially accommodated in said free space.
The preferably cup-shaped inner envelope is therefore configured according to the invention in such a way that in the region of the seam produced in the layers of the film package, preferably by sealing, a spatial compensation is achieved (preferably by the design of the inner envelope), in particular when the seam produced by sealing has a fin-shaped seam structure with folded fins.
In particular, the cup-shaped inner collar is designed in such a way that a transversely oriented recess formed by punching is provided in the region of the collar rear wall, to be precise in the region of the transversely oriented connecting seam on the rear side of the film packet. The transverse seam, which is in particular configured as a fin seam with folded fins, is located in the region of the recess, which extends over the entire width of the collar rear wall and preferably with the edge legs up to the side lamination regions. If the respective seam is provided on the front side, i.e. in the region of the film front wall, the collar front wall is provided with a recess accordingly.
Of particular importance is the design of the inner collar side wall to compensate for the multi-layer structure formed based on the side closure seam of the film wrapper. In particular, the outer side lamination of the inner collar is provided with a smaller width than the collar side wall. A recess or offset extending over the height of the side wall is thus produced on the inner collar outer side relative to the inner collar-side lamination. The (folded) fin-shaped seam of the film package is located in said recess or offset area.
Preferably, the collar-side lamellae are connected to one another by means of glue, in particular by means of glue spots, which according to the invention are applied to the free outer side of the collar-side lamellae, preferably the inner collar-side lamellae, when producing a unit comprising a cigarette group and an inner collar, more precisely by means of glue nozzles arranged on both sides of the unit, which preferably apply a row of glue spots in the region of the inner collar-side lamellae that is covered in the finished inner collar by the outer collar-side lamellae having a reduced width.
The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing an inner collar or a unit comprising an inner collar and a group of cigarettes. A method for manufacturing a packet for cigarettes according to the invention, comprising a group of cigarettes arranged in a sealed packet, surrounded by an inner buncher sleeve configured in a cup-shape and having an inner front wall, an inner rear wall, an inner bottom wall and side flaps for forming inner side walls, wherein,
a) the side laminations are connected to each other by glue when the inner collar is manufactured;
b) for joining the side laminates, glue is applied to the free outer side of the inner side laminate after folding the inner side laminate and before folding the outer side laminate, which outer side laminate has a recess or a truncation, respectively, at least in partial regions, such that free spaces are formed next to the outer side laminate, respectively, for accommodating corresponding material thickenings of the sealed package formed on the basis of the side seams of the sealed package, in which free spaces the associated side seams of the sealed package are at least partially accommodated;
c) thereafter, the outer side laminate is folded over the glue-provided area of the inner side laminate.

Detailed Description
The embodiment in the drawings relates to a cigarette pack in which a group 10 of cigarettes, i.e. a group 11 of cigarettes formed in an array, is contained in a film or sealed pack 12 to form a sealed block.
The group of cigarettes 11, which in the present case comprises three rows of cigarettes, is surrounded on all sides by a film cut which is preferably moisture-and aroma-repellent. This film cut is separated from the continuous film web 13 when producing the sealed packs 12, in order to preferably wrap the groups of cigarettes 11 such that the substantially finished sealed packs 12 are separated from the tubular formed film web 13 to form pillow packs (Flowpack).
The square film or sealed package 12 forms a film front wall 14, a film rear wall 15, narrow upstanding film side walls 16, a film top wall 17 and a film bottom wall 18. The package 12 sealed on all sides is realized by means of a connecting or closing seam, preferably produced by heat sealing. In the region of the film side walls 16 lying opposite one another, upstanding side seams 19 are preferably provided, which extend in particular over the entire height of the packaging 12. The side seams are preferably designed as fin seams, the fins 20 being folded onto the packaging wall, i.e. the film side wall 16, in order to lie against approximately half of the partial area of the film side wall 16 (preferably in the rear area).
The other sealing seam, i.e. the transverse or connecting seam 21, is located in the region of the large-area packaging wall, in the region of the film rear wall 15 in the present case. The connecting seam 21 is formed at approximately half the height of the film rear wall 15 and extends with the end legs 22 into the region of the film side walls 16. The connecting seam 21 is preferably also designed as a fin seam, in particular with a fin 23 folded upwards, i.e. in the direction of the film top wall 17.
The sealed package 12 is preferably provided with an opening aid in the region of the film top wall 17 and in the region of the top end of the film front wall 14. The opening aid is provided with an opening tab 24, which is designed in a conventional manner, for opening and closing the tab 24, which is fastened to the sealed package 12 by means of adhesive bonding and releases the removal opening of the film package 12 in the open position (fig. 2).
The sealed package 12 is arranged as a block-shaped inner package in a preferably standard outer package 27, in particular in a clamshell box comprising a box portion 28, a lid 29 and a collar 30. The opening tab 24 can be opened and closed manually by means of an operating bar 25. Is characterized in that: to operate the opening tab 24, it is connected to the lid 29. For this purpose, the actuating strip 25 is fastened to the inner side of the lid front wall 31 or to the lid inner laminate 32 of the lid front wall. The collar has a lateral collar side lamination 56 which, depending on the arrangement of the collar 30, covers the region of the film side wall 16 and thus the upper part of the side seam 19 which is exposed.
Within the sealed package 12 there is provided a holding or support means, preferably made of cardboard, for the group of cigarettes 11, also referred to below as inner collar 33. The inner bundling sleeve mainly has the following tasks: maintaining the alignment of group 11 of cigarettes and protecting cigarettes 10 from mechanical and/or thermal loads. The inner collar 33 is preferably made of a one-piece cut 33 (fig. 5, 6) comprising an inner front wall 34, an inner rear wall 35, an inner bottom wall 36 and an inner side wall comprising an inner side lamination 37 and an outer side lamination 38. The side flaps 37, 38 are folded or placed against one another in a partially overlapping manner. The corner gusset 39 is now connected to the (inner) side gusset 37 by a fold line and is folded over the inner side of the inner bottom wall 36 in the completed inner cuff 33 (fig. 7).
The cup wrap for the group of cigarettes 11 is constituted, for example, by an inner collar 33 folded out of the cut-out according to fig. 5, 6. Inner sleeve 33 is preferably sized so that front wall 34, rear wall 35 and side walls 37, 38 are substantially flush with group 11 of cigarettes or with the filter ends of cigarettes 10 correspondingly positioned. The inner front wall 34 is provided with a notch 40 at the top end which makes handling of the cigarette 10 easier. Group 11 of cigarettes and inner sleeve 33 constitute a unit 41 for further packaging.
In the production of the unit 41, it is expedient to first fold the cutout of the inner collar 33 into an angular or L-shaped intermediate folded position (fig. 7), the inner rear wall 35 lying in a preferably horizontal plane, one partial leg formed by the inner bottom wall 36 and the inner front wall 34 being erected, the side flaps 38 now connected to the inner front wall 34 also being erected and the corner flaps 39 being folded into a position resting against the inner bottom wall 36, the inner side flaps 37 connected to the inner rear wall 35 also being folded into an upright, packaging-adapted position.
The intermediate folded position according to fig. 7 is preferably simultaneously a pushed-in position for the group of cigarettes 11. The groups of cigarettes are pushed in the corresponding array through the open sides into the partially folded inner collar 33 until the end of the cigarette abuts against the bottom wall 36 or the corner flaps 39. The inner front wall 34 with the side flaps 38 is then folded over the upper side of the group 11 of cigarettes. Finally, the laterally oriented outer side laminate 38 is folded until it abuts against the inner side laminate 37 (fig. 9).
The (outer) side laminate 38, which is preferably provided with a chamfer 42 at the end, is connected to the inner side laminate 37 by means of adhesive bonding, preferably by means of a plurality of glue sites 43 arranged in rows. Four glue sites 43 spaced apart from one another are now provided adjacent to the free edge of the side laminate 37.
The glue spots are preferably applied one after the other on the free outer side of the side flaps 37, preferably during the transport movement of the inner collar 33, by means of the glue nozzle 44 after the group of cigarettes 11 has been pushed in and after the inner front wall 34 has been folded into the position according to fig. 8. Alternatively, the side laminates 37, 38 can be connected to one another by a plug connection, i.e. without glue. In the case of corresponding coatings, the connection can also be made by heat sealing.
The cut-out for the inner collar 33 or the inner collar 33 itself is designed in such a way that compensation is achieved in the material-thickened region (in particular of the film or the sealed package 12) by means of notches, perforations, recesses, embossing or material deviations, with the aim of: thickening the material, especially the film or the material of the multilayer structure of the sealed package 12, has a reduced effect on the outer dimensions of the package. In particular, the outer dimensions of the sealed package 12 are maintained in such a way that they are accommodated in an inner packaging 27, which is preferably designed as a clamshell case, in a fitted manner.
The thickening based on the multilayer regions, i.e. the thickening caused by the possible multilayer film construction, is produced on the sealed packaging 12, in particular by the (sealing) seams 19, 21. The structure of the sealing seam, in particular as a fin seam, produces an at least three-layer structure (including the wall of the film package) in the region of the folded fin. A greater number of layers is produced in the region of the overlap of the side seams 19 with the transverse connecting seam 21, in particular in the region of the end legs 22 (fig. 4).
For this purpose, the inner collar 33 is purposely provided with a notch or recess. The inner collar 33 is provided with a punched hole or opening 45 in the region of the connecting seam 21, which, depending on the position of the connecting seam 21, extends in the present exemplary embodiment in the region of the inner rear wall 35. The preferably rectangular opening 45 extends over the entire width of the inner rear wall 35 and with (short) opening legs 46 into the region of the adjacent side webs 37.
The opening 45 contributes to (partially) compensating the material thickening caused by folding the connecting seam 21 (fig. 3). The seam 21 or fin 23 formed therefrom is located entirely within the opening 45, which preferably has a greater width or height than the fin 23, so as to provide free space 51 above and below the fin for better accommodating the material layer in the region of the fin 23.
The other material build-up is (partly) compensated by the reduced laminate size. The side seam 29 or its fins 20 extend in a half-region, preferably in the rear half, of the side wall of the inner collar 33 formed by the side webs 37, 38. The reduced width of the outer side sheet 38 makes it possible to achieve an inwardly directed offset or a corresponding free space 52 extending over the height of the inner collar 33, which at least partially accommodates the side seam 19 or its fins 20. The reduced side lamination 38 extends approximately to the middle of the respective side wall so that approximately half the size of the inner side lamination 37 is exposed for the fins 20 to abut. Suitably, the outer side lamination 38 is dimensioned such that it forms a gap serving as a free space 52 in the folded position (dashed line in fig. 1). The gap has a dimension or width of 0.1mm to 2mm, preferably 0.3 to 1mm, in terms of the distance between the folded edge or edges of the fins 20 and the free edge of the side lamination 38.
In the region where the connecting seam 21 meets the side seam 19, a particularly severe build-up of overlapping material layers occurs, in particular by the end legs 22. This layer structure is shown in fig. 4. These layers are located in the region of opening 45 and extend into opening leg 46 based on the location of fin 20.
Fig. 6 shows an example of a cut out of an inner collar 33 with a profiled, in the present case beveled, upright wrapping edge (octagonal structure). The side flaps 37, 38 are defined relative to the inner front wall 34 or the inner rear wall 35 by two parallel fold lines 47, 48, respectively. The fold lines 47, 48 can be formed by embossing and/or partial punching (perforation lines) as the other fold lines of the blank. The parallel fold lines 47, 48 define a material strip 49 which in the folded inner collar 33 or unit 41 forms a bevelled wrapping edge (fig. 10).
The recess or opening 45 extends in the present exemplary embodiment with the opening leg 46 beyond the perforation lines 47, 48 or the material strip 49 into the region of the transversely oriented side webs 37. The outer side lamination 38 also matches the contour of the inner collar 33 by bevelling. The width of the laterally oriented side laminations 38 is selected so that space is provided for the fins 20 even in this design. Approximately half of the area of the inner side lamination 37 remains free up to the fold line 47 for positioning the fins 20.
The contour or shape of the outer side laminate 38 also plays a role in the other layer stacks. By folding the film in the region of the film side walls 16, a triangular wedge 54 is produced on the end (top, bottom) which is now folded inwards, i.e. into the region between the inner sleeve 33 and the film side walls 16 (fig. 1). By the cut-outs or chamfers 42 of the ends, i.e. by the size and shape of the outer side lamination, it is ensured that the wedges 54 do not locally overlap the outer side lamination 38. The edges of the side laminations 38 on the one hand and the wedge 54 on the other hand are juxtaposed to each other.
The unit 41, constructed in the described or similar manner, is wrapped with film to form the sealed package 12. At present this is done: the continuous film web 13 with the opening aid is placed from above onto units 41 which are spaced apart from each other by a defined distance and which are transported in the transverse direction. The correspondingly sized film web 13 is folded around the unit 41 to form a film tube of wrapping unit 41. The film tube forms a continuous sealing seam, i.e. a connecting seam 21, on the underside. The sealed packages 12 are then produced in a sealing and separating station 50 by means of corresponding sealing and separating mechanisms, to be precise by means of transverse sealing seams, i.e. side seams 19, and by means of separating cuts. In the region of this station 50, a transversely movable folding mechanism, namely a folding fork 55, is also provided for folding the (triangular) wedge 54 by means of a transverse movement of the folding fork 55, which folding fork folds the wedge 54 of two successive sealed packages 12 in one folding cycle, i.e. in one movement section.
The finished sealed package 12 is then fed to a packaging plant for combining the sealed package 12 and the outer package 27.
